Daybreak (2019)
Fantastic and Beautiful
I've never liked any apocalypse or post apocalypse film but I enjoy this show a lot. Production and actors are all very decent and I especially appreciate how the story is told. Krysta Rodriguez's performance is moving.
Get Even (2020)
Could've done better
The show is conceptually cool and promising, the music is nice.
But there are so many plot holes that it becomes frustrating to watch, makes me feel like i'm watching . For example, the show started off telling the audiences DGM is an association that punishes bad people, and that the whole school can't track them or figure out their identities because they're pro. Then why the hell would Bree make paper crane in the middle of her mission?? aren't they supposed to be flawlessly anonymous and mysterious? i also can't see any reason why the girls gathered together, their conversations are very indifferent, the whole plot is weak.
Acting is generally alright but I agree with some other comments that the casting doesn't look convincing.
Spy Intervention (2020)
The film is alright but Pam is such a objectionable character
I quite like the visual, and I like the idea that when Corey is in his spy job the aspect ratio is 4:3 and when he's in his "normal life" the aspect ratio changes to 2.35:1. There's a lot of CGI used in the film but I'm fine with that, it's generally fun to watch.
However, I can never get why Pam talks in a British accent. At first I thought Corey landed in Great Britain so she talks in a British accent but obviously it's not the case because everyone else talk like an average American (Alex has a little Australian accent but she's generally okay). It's just the accent but her accent makes her stand out too much, makes the audience feel like she doesn't belong to where she is(her job, her friendship, her relationship).
Secondly, Pam is unlikable, she's almost a manic pixie dream girl except that she becomes that boring school teacher in every teen movie after she gets married with Corey. She also doesn't seem to like Corey: When Corey says they can go on vacation, her response is that they need money for the house; when she sees Corey has his hair done her reaction is to gasp and say "it's kinda ridiculous"; when she finds out Corey entering a honeymoon suite she looks quite calm. I have no idea it's because of the poor writing for the role or what but she's so unlikable that I kept thinking "dump her! Corey" throughout the film.
Again, I find the film fun and generally good, but it annoys me that one of the main character is so objectionable.
Big Time Adolescence (2019)
It's a good movie.
Everything is on point, especially the ending scene. But to be honest I don't like it because it's kind of depressing :( not a comedy I thought
Plus One (2019)
An enjoyable and fun film
I'm pleased to watch a film about an interesting topic and although I knew it's gonna end up in a cliche way I still love it.
But please be careful casting Asian actors and actresses because the fact that the mother obviously is (ethnically) a Chinese while the main character Alice just looks like a Japanese and her sister in this film just looks like a Korean. Westerners probably can't spot a difference between (ethnic) Chinese, Japanese and Koreans but it feels kinda weird and funny to see such things as a Asian who grows up in Asia😅 We don't even need to check out their profiles to know they obviously use different languages for their names😅
But since it's not the point and it's an American film so i'm not blaming it very much it's still fun to watch
Plan Coeur (2018)
I cannot stand it.
How Elsa acts is exactly the reason why she doesn't have a boyfriend. She is an adult but still act like a kid?? even teens would consider her awkward and cringy. I have absolutely no idea why that dude would like her and I totally understand why her ex dumped her.
Speaking of the plot, it is very cliche and everything is predictable.
This whole drama is unrealistic.
Ocean's Eight (2018)
there's nothing special in this film
It is literally cheesy and average...........................
