The Northlander (2016)
Loved it
I watched this movie with my girlfriend and we both liked it very much. It is a dystopian adventure, put in the year 2961, where people are living a nomadic life and all the resources are scarce. The story is very well put together, without any major plot holes, and it kept me at the edge of my seat until the end. The actors were relatively unknown to me, but they did a decent job, and their performance was believable. CGI was not used too much, but I must mention costume and make up artist, who did an incredible job in creating a very unique atmosphere that I didn't see anywhere else in the movies. If you like adventures, with good action scenes and a good story, I highly recommend you this one.
The Rainforests Are Under Threat (2015)
Nice documentary
A great documentary about Amazon rain forests that are disappearing mostly because of the human factor. Climate change affects them too, but they are being deforested almost without any control. People should be aware how much rain forests mean to the entire planet. Not only they produce huge amounts of oxygen, but they have vast variety of plants and animals that are worth saving and taking care of much better. I watched this movie with my girlfriend and I wish there were more people in the theater. Both of us liked the documentary and I recommend it to anyone caring for our mother nature. A great idea stands behind this movie and I wish there is more support for similar projects.
Olympus (2015)
Lykos the New Leader
The plot was good and I really enjoyed watching Lykos grow from a weak frail looking boy into a man. From the start he seems to be an unlikely hero. Then however when things go wrong in his ill father's kingdom Queen Medea is put in charge of the army. This reminds me of the ironic reality that the character who is least expected to succeed ends up being the hero of the day. The overall truth is that at first glance Lykos looks quite wimpy, but then he is put in charge towards the end of the first episode. It is thanks to characters like Lykos and Medea that I loved watching Olympus. If there is anything that I would do differently is I would make it longer and talk more about the Lexicon. We don't get as much information as I feel is needed to understand the true power of the Lexicon. However the plot is really well connected and the story is everything. I would recommend more people to watch this.
Jack Vale Offline (2015)
Jack pull his pranks
OK, here's a reason to finally watch a reality show. It's classy, family-friendly but still edgy enough. I think they might by Christians because they prayed together before dinner in episode. We have 2 kids, twins 16 year old. My entire family is glued to the screen when it's on. There is just no way you can stop watching Jack Vale pull his pranks. You just have to wait until he's done, since he relies on a lot of simple humor. As you know the simplest jokes are the hardest to find, but somehow Vale always seems to find them. The only thing I dislike is a lack of consistency, and I feel like while some episodes are fun and comfortable others are simply too boring. They just didn't keep up with my attention span, but other than that it's a good show. Better to have some interesting reality TV for a change other than the Kardashians. We need good humor to come back to America for once and this is it.
