Gyeongiroun Somun (2020)
Another winner
In the absence of anything remotely interesting lately being produced by the US/ Hollywierd, I've started watching Koren series/shows & have been greatly entertained. I've discovered Extraordinary Attorney Woo, Space Sweepers, Black, It's OK To Not Be Ok, The King/Eternal Monarch etc & now The Uncanny Counter! Such a difference to what the US produces. Very little, if any cussing which I never really thought about until you experience the absence of it & they keep their clothes on...imagine that! Most of what I've watched also take me through the full gamut of emotions which I love. I'm scared, happy, suspenseful & laughing out loud, they can be dang funny.
Isanghan byeonhosa Woo Young-woo (2022)
What a breath of fresh air
I adore this series! Superb acting imo. Attorney Woo is absolutely adorable. I very much look forward to the weekly episodes. I don't think I've seen anything American that is similar.
Seungriho (2021)
Awesome
Read one user's review that said "epic" and highly doubted it. I'm a middle aged woman who loves a good sci fi, waiting for the new season of The Expanse, so decided to check out this flick! Yep...it certainly was "epic". Loved it !!! So glad I watched it, I was not disappointed.
The Expanse (2015)
Best Sci Fi series in a long time
I thought Star Trek & Firefly (shame they cxld) were my favorite series...now I will add The Expanse to the list. The pace starts picking up around S1 E4 imo. Kudos to the characters & acting. Awesome job!!! Thanks again to the entire cast for such an entertaining series. I've rewatched the entire series multiple times and always picked up some detail that I previously missed.
Hap and Leonard (2016)
awesome and funny
Wow...I was just looking for something entertaining to watch over the weekend and clicked on New Series This Week from my TV menu and saw this and read that it took place in the 80's which is when I graduated high school and anyone who grew up in the 80's...all fun and there's no record of it anywhere Lol. So I gave it a shot and what fun it was. Went in with no expectations and enjoyed myself so much I binged on all 5 episodes. Hopefully there will be more. Funny, witty, suspenseful, action, drama, betrayal. This is my kind of entertainment. There is violence & gore. So glad I watched it. Good character development and the banter between Hap & Leonard was absolutely hysterical.
Black Sails (2014)
I can't believe this show doesn't have better raitings
I don't write many reviews but this show is spectacular imo. So sorry to see Zach go but glad Ray is now on board. Toby Stephens...can't say enough about his acting and the development of the characters that happens with each season. This season we saw the character development in Long John Silver & Jack towards the end. I think season 4 we'll see much more development from his character. I'm a 52 yr old married woman who loved Spartacus, the 1st 2 that is, Rome, Outlander etc. I am not offended at all by any vulgarity. Just makes it more interesting imo. All these actors and actresses didn't waste any time in coming into their characters. I thought they were all spot on from the very beginning and only intensifies as the seasons progress. Thank you so very much Starz!!!
The Last Kingdom (2015)
Bravo!
What a wonderful adaptation of the books!!! I had never heard of Alexander Dreymon until watching this series. I had purchased the kindle book a while ago but had not read it yet, watched the series first and that actually prompted me to read the book(s). Now reading the 2nd book. I liked the Viking series on the History Channel which is a nice compliment to this series as you can learn more about Ragnar. I loved the acting in The Last Kingdom! Alexander Dreymon (Uhtred), David Dawson (King Alfred) & Adrian Bower (Leofric) I think were spot on with their characters. Not to take away from the other actors in the least!!! I am no historian by any means and the programs I watch is strictly for my own enjoyment, couldn't care about anybody else's LOL!!! I will pretty much watch anything that has sword fighting which was due to my being introduced to Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series. I'm a bit obsessed with it actually. And what a handsome young man Alexander Dreymon is. That certainly doesn't hurt my eyeballs!!!! After reading the book, I went back and re-watched the series and it was even more entertaining than the 1st time. Thank you so much for the wonderful entertainment!!!
