Blonde (2022)
Ick- don't do it....
I'm not sure what I was expecting from this movie. The actress spoke in a heavy accent and was super annoying. I'm not sure what the heck they were trying to convey, but everything was unbelievably forced. She was unlikeable in just about every frame including the abortion scene. How tf do you do that? A friend recommended the movie and I was disappointed from the get go. I don't recommend it at all. Documentaries are more personal and have more depth than this piece of garbage. I sincerely hope that some other actress, director, producer, and writer take on the task of making an icon more appealing and engaging. Poor Ms. Monroe has been through enough. Take this out of circulation.
The Hocus Pocus 25th Anniversary Halloween Bash (2018)
Could've been better
I grew up watching Hocus Pocus. It is one of my all time favorites. Half of the show had nothing to do with the movie. I don't know what exactly they were going for or who they were trying to pander to. It was such a miss for me. For crying out loud, one of the hosts wasn't even born when the movie came out. More nostalgia would've been nice. Like artists/actors from the era to perform/host. Or the band from the movie to play "I Put A Spell On You". Also, the costume contest took up too much time. The winner of the contest was a lady dressed up as a spider ... Personally, I hope they have a redo with the 40th.
Elvis (2022)
Not really an Elvis story
They missed out on a big opportunity. As a fan of movies about musicians, the last thing I want to see is the manager's story. It was way more scattered and unorganized than the Little Richard movie. The iconic songs were minimal and the stories were rushed. I hope someone else takes the challenge and does a better job.
On the plus side, the actor that played Elvis was amazing. I can not wait to see what he does next. He's very endearing.
No one else had enough screen time. There was no depth to any of the other characters. Except the Tom Hanks character. But he wasn't like-able or interesting.
Advertising the movie about an Elvis story was severely misleading. Do better Hollywood.
