Rick and Morty: The Ricklantis Mixup (2017)
The episode where I decided that this is better than Game Of Thrones.
When the creators said they are going to get dark, I totally bought that because I know their capabilities. This episode was on a different level altogether. So many plot changes, brilliant writing, obviously makes you laugh and scares you at the same time. One of the Top 10 episodes in the history of television.
Sairat (2016)
Nagraj Manjule - The Anurag Kashyap we need.
Well, according to me, Nagraj Manjule is the Anurag Kashyap the Marathi movie industry needs. Like, in every damn AK movie(haven't seen Bombay Velvet) you are left speechless at the end, struggling to decide what to do next. Like to close the vlc player or just to listen to ending music, which makes you even more serious. NM did that to me. The movie starts on point and the story is told perfectly, no flaws. Nagraj Manjule could have better with the middle part of the movie. Some movies need to be slow at some point. According to me Second half was kind of rushed into. The ending left me speechless, and I was impressed very much. I thought that it was perfect ending to a very good movie. It reveals the double meaning in the title - 'Sairat'. Sairat means 'a wild frenzy'. Well, the unbelievable love takes Archie and Parshya into a wild frenzy and the consequences which follow (their death) is a wild frenzy too. The child taking those bloody footsteps left me with goosebumps. Very very on point story telling, amazing camera work, a little bit unstable and brilliant at its peak. A must watch for every Indian to get to know the 'rural' truth.
Ugly (2013)
Best movie I ever watched.
*This review may contain spoilers*
Okay so this is my first IMDb review and I think that there was no other movie as perfect as Ugly to start writing.
I am a movie addict, and not that guy who just watches Hollywood movies and curses all Bollywood movies. I enjoy Bollyood movies too.
Well, I have loved Anurag Kashyap right since No Smoking, Gangs of Wasseypur etc. But this is another level, I am not kidding but this movie is comparable to all the Oscar winning movies ever, EVER. You are expecting a "Taken"-type ending i.e. Dad will find daughter after much struggle and so on.
But no, you expect that as a normal movie watcher, even I expected that and then there was the end scene, right before me and I was struggling to decide what to do next.
It had literally mind-boggled(I wanted to say something else, but IMDb doesn't approve) me. I did not expect the movie to go where it went...literally.
The acting was top notch and perfect.
Hope this movie gets more recognition and breaks into the Top 250.
