Blum house has just given up. It's like they have a crumb of a good idea and make a whole movie out of it. The best part of the movie is the woman in black which they show on the trailer and the movie cover so no need to watch it.
Drags on with very minimal pay off. The figure is creepy in the first 20 mins but then you just stop caring. Goes nowhere and explains not nothing.
As for making money Blum house has a great business model, but I feel that they crank out crap for a quick buck, what happened to any substance in a horror movie? Sad to see they don't give the genre the respect it deserves when they've made their money from milking it dry.

This is a weird movie, it's R rated but feels like a pg13 young teens kinda movie.
It's a mix of 'the gate', 'gremlins' and 'small soldiers' with a bit of 'home alone' thrown in. But it's kinda bloody, gory and violent. It's much more fun than it has any right to be but again I don't know who they targeted this movie towards?
It's got good production values, the acting is decent enough and seems like everyone had fun filming it.
Probably ok if your kids are used to these movies but it's still gory and bloody at times. Worth a one time watch or as an annual Christmas movie, I enjoyed it more than I thought I would.

This is one of those movies I used to always mix up with ghost ship, another classic for the time. This is reminiscent of movies such as relic, aliens, leviathan, ghost ship, tremors and the like. The CGI goes hard and used just the right amount to keep it realistic and still looks pretty solid for 2025.
Funny seeing all the old actors but especially Benny from the mummy, I just can't take him serious 😆.
Not sure how Treat Williams kept getting work as a leading man back then, I just don't think he has the gravitas to pull it off.
But as far as sci fi creature features go, this movie holds its own and still worth watching for youngsters who may have missed it. Wish there was more good quality creature features out there but alas.
