Alien Trespass (2009)
Campy Satire of 50s Sci-fi, so well done, I thought it was original
Whoever made this movie sure knew the 1950s. Look closely at the sets and costumes, hair style, and vehicles. True authenticity.
The dialogue was spot-on. The acting is hard to judge, since this is a movie within a movie within yet another movie.
The ending tells it all, where before the spaceship leaves earth, it finds the female lead (perfectly named Tammy), and wobbles the ship so that it looks like it is waving goodbye. Perfect ending.
Vampire's Kiss (1988)
A Slow Descent into Madness
IMO, worth watching. It's confusing at times. IMO, no one but Nic Cage could pull this off.
Blacula (1972)
Low Budget Masterpiece. Unique Plot for a unique Concept
First time viewer. This was quite good for a low budget film. Blacula's voice is fantastic and his acting was very good. The script was clearly written legititmately from the point of view of black culture from that time period. That's what I like the most about this movie: authenticity. And it had a great twist at the end. Most Dracula's have no love. They may have wives, but show no affection for them. They are all about seduction. Blacula was in love, which made him perform a self sacrifice at the end. This is unique of all the vampire movies. And it was not awkward. Blacula remained true to his character and motives till the very end. I was expecting something more cheesy. HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Ghost in the Shell SAC_2045 (2020)
Just couldn't take this embarrassing abomination
Many reviewers are telling us to give this a chance and not let the first 10-5 minutes turn you off. This is NOT Ghost in th4e Shell. It has the same character with similar looking bodies and voices, but the personalities are all different, and not for the better. The CGI is TERRIBLE.
Bringing this team to America seems so weird. They are Japanese.
In Ep1, they were ordered to capture insurgents alive. Boss lady lets them go like it is no big deal. The real character would NEVER do that.
Their fighting style is not the same. They are more lile terrorists now. They don't really work together.
I'm really disappointed. his was made solely for an American audience that doesn't really know Ghost in the Shell. If you talk to the audience about the "Laughing Man" they would have no idea what you are talking about.
Executive Decision (1996)
Seagal and Russell don't get into a fight
Really enjoyed this. Lots of tension, and multiple storylines with troubles getting worse over time. Halle Berry was beautiful as always
Charlie's Angels (2019)
EXCEEDED EXPECTATIONS
I thought the original Charlie's Angels movies were OK. I was not a fan of Kristen Stewart prior to seeing this movie. Kristen made this movie great. I don't know what she did to prepare for this movie, but her acting talent has exploded. It was also great to see Sir Patrick Stewart on the silver screen again as well. The action sequences were as good as those in Bruce Willis and Bourne Identity movies.
In the Shadow of the Moon (2019)
Best Time Travel movie I have seen.
I have read several other user reviews of this movie. Many said that the ending sucked. I liked the ending. It is rare that a time travel movie that alters the past has a happy ending.
The author really folded this story into itself. The main premise is "How do you kill an idea?" Right now, the USA is about to implode due to racism and the mindset within it. This movie has come at the right time
Along Came a Spider (2001)
This movie is a hidden gem
Wow, this was really good. Morgan Freeman was his normal excellent self. This movie had several twists. I was fooled every time. The script was exceptionally well written.
Exposed (2016)
Confusing and Inauthentic
Dirty Detective is murdered. His partner tries to find out who did it. All known suspects kill each other.
A Spiritual Woman is an angel to her Latina community. Her deployed soldier husband dies. She realizes she is pregnant and thinks its a miracle. She sees visions of angels giving her instructions. No one believes her pregnancy is a miracle.
We learn who is the killer, which ties the two plot lines together.
A rape scene in the movie is so graphic I could barely handle it. Had I been in a theater, I would have walked out
Patterns of Evidence: Exodus (2014)
Scientifically Irresponsible
The movie was well done and entertaining. In terms of science, it was horrible. The premise is that since we have not found any evidence of Biblical history in the Late Bronze period, let's look in the Middle period. The Late Bronze period was used for 1000 years because the Bible states the Pharoah's name as Ramases. The movie offers no reason against this, and just looks centuries earlier than Ramases anyway.
The movie visits an archaeological dig on Avaris Egypt. They interview a European Professor that has worked this dig for 20 years. The Professor says that there is absolutely no evidence for the Bible history at this site. Then the movie shows computer graphics of overwhelming evidence of not just Isrealites, but Joseph of Egypt himself. There is no live video or pictures when they do this. It is all HD computer graphics, meaning that it is artwork, not evidence. I was shocked that he had done this.
The only thing credible in this movie is Jericho. They show live video, and quote the British Kenyon findings. Jericho does appear to have happened as described in the Bible, but centuries earlier than described in the Bible.
The final statement of the movie is that the Egyptian calendar needs to be shifted to match the Bible Calendar. This is not going to happen because the Egyptian calendar is based on scientific findings. So nothing new is said in this movie.
The lies presented as archaeological evidence are new. This isn't the first time a Christian has provided fabricated evidence of Bible History, and he will make money and fame for awhile. Shame on him.
