Madame Web (2024)
4/10
Fifty Shades Of Mess
14 February 2024
It's astonishing to think that Sony could put out a worse product than 2022's Morbius, but boy, "Madame Web" manages it. It is an embarrassing mess. Talented stars wasted on probably one of the worst comic book movie ever (which nobody asked for). Filled with atrocious dialogue, awkward editing and laughable structure. It's a clunky, poorly-written, messy, and sloppy movie packed with some mediocre editing and performances.

The concept is interesting on paper, but it couldn't be saved due to it's terrible execution. "Madame Web" simply lacked the spark it needed in nearly every dept.

There is simply nothing memorable in this movie, except maybe some superhero costumes, but that doesn't redeem the fact that the movie is bad.

So yeah..."Madame Web" is yet another disappointing entry in the Sony's Spider-Less universe. It's like a love letter to an era of superhero films that people largely want to forget. The "Pepsi" adds are stand-out, it falls short of what could have been a decent movie in the hands of someone else twenty years ago.

We Finally Arrived...At The Bottom Of The Ocean
22 December 2023
Well, first of all, let's honor a universe that waited too long to be terminated. Now, that I gave a few seconds of attention to that "monumental" event, we can move on to what's more important today...the movie.

The first "Aquaman" movie at its best is an "okay" predictable CGI journey or briefly - B grade comic book movie.

"Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom"...oh boy, as if it wasn't enough that the studio had no faith in the movie and waited to lift the embargo for the reviews for the last possible moment. The movie is an underwater mess. It tries to be serious and funny and fails at both. The story is predictable from the tenth minute. Honestly the best thing I can say about the movie is Patrick Wilson's attempt to save it with his chemistry with Momoa's character and some good effects here and there.

Black Manta had a few moments more screen time than the previous movie, but again I wouldn't say it was the villain it should have been and that has nothing to do with Yahya Abdul-Mateen II's acting skills, he is great.

I'm not even gonna start with Amber Heard, you already know all you need to know.

In the end, there is nothing memorable that we haven't already seen in the previous "Aquaman". In short, a completely forgettable superhero movie. I don't think it's worse than "Wonder Woman 1984", but it's certainly trying to take away that "glorious" title.

I believe in James Gunn and I hope starting in 2025 we will see the beginning of a coherent and well interconnected universe at last. The DC fans and the characters of this universe deserve it.

The Marvels (2023)
6/10
Intergalactic Superhero Switch
8 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The strongest part of the movie is the chemistry between the three lead actresses, with Iman Velani (Kamala Khan) certainly being the best of the three. You're just seeing a real childish reaction that most likely anyone would have if something like this happened to them. I would compare it to Peter Parker in "Captain America: Civil War". Carol is cool, but she should have been more than that. Monica had the potential to be developed as a much more important character after "WandaVision", and here she felt a bit like a "third wheel". Fury and Kamala's family are very good supporting characters and funny ones at that. I'd be lying if I said I didn't laugh with them, but speaking of laughs, the other strength of the movie is precisely that it's funny. If you're looking for something to let loose without straining too much, the movie is perfect, if you're looking for something more, watch some other MCU movie. There are also silly moments, some will like it, others won't, not others will like it anyway.

The villain is forgettable and exactly 1 day after the movie, no one will remember her name, if anyone knew it before. It's Dar-Benn. Apart from being the budget Ronan, it doesn't leave you anything else. I don't think the problem is with the actress so much as with what she was given as a script.

The story and overall the whole scenario is nothing special. The premise is interesting, but it feels like we're watching "Captain Marvel 3" before we've seen "Captain Marvel 2." Some important things have happened that we only mention and spend about two minutes on. Definitely some 15-20 minutes would be useful at the expense of 10 minutes on a planet that communicates by singing. Not that I particularly minded it, but how should I put it...priorities?

The effects are "questionable", in some places they were good, in others they needed more finishing touches. The best fight choreography of the film was at the very beginning. The final battle was okay, but the truth is, it's not something that will go down in MCU history as some great moment. I'll give an example, if I tell someone "Captain America: The Winter Soldier", absolutely everyone thinks of the fight between Steve and Bucky on the road with the knife that fell between their hands while they were fighting and it's a practical fight, without the need for many effects . Just great choreography. There was no such thing in "The Marvels".

The main musical score was nice.

The final scene of the movie, as well as the credit scene, will actually ignite more discussions than the film itself. Both are important as they tease things that are becoming more and more important in the current phase of the Marvel universe.

Clearly, the pandemic negatively affected this movie as well, but in a different reality, if "WandaVision" and "Ms. Marvel" had came out within one calendar year and "The Marvels" had come out at the beginning of the next, 2020 vs. 2021 respectively, the movie would have excite more people to watch it. If you haven't seen the Disney+ shows, you will understand the movie, but if you have, you will be pleasantly rewarded by understanding more things.

In general, I can sum up "The Marvels" as a fun little quest in the MCU that beats a few important events, brings together three closely related characters and leads us to something much more interesting than the movie we just saw. Top 10 MCU Movie? Not a chance. The weakest MCU movie? I would not say.

Blue Beetle (2023)
6/10
A True Masterpiece...if It Had Come Out 20 Years Earlier
16 August 2023
"Blue Beetle" is simply B or even C grade super hero movie with some charm along the way. I don't think it will be realistic to expect something else to be honest. The trailers showed that pretty well in my opinion.

The tone of the movie is close to that of "Shazam!", given the fact that the family got bigger role in it again, that said the story is not all that good. Not that "Shazam!" got some epic story, but I think it was one idea better.

The cast is fine, maybe the best part of the movie is the family dynamic, except when they lean too much to the melodrama side. Xolo Maridueña as Jaime/Blue Beetle and George Lopez are the standouts no doubt.

The villain is everything you ca expect from B grade super hero movie, from the introduction, through his motivation, the fights and the conclusion is nothing particularly memorable.

I must say the suit looks great when is practical and not CGI all over the place. There are some cool fight scenes with our protagonist, most of which are shown in the trailers, which is kinda of a shame.

There are plenty of jokes in the movie, but for me, most of them doesn't land. I mean they are too childish. I guess the younger auditory will laugh out hard, but me and my cinema crowd were silent most of the time. Of course there were funny moments, but don't expect "Deadpool" level laughs if you are a bit older.

The movie is not bad, but it's kinda cringe, predictable and given the fact that the audience know this genre already, they expect something more clever, which sadly to report "Blue Beetle" is not.

There are already enough talks about the future of this character, is it part of the DCEU or DCU, will there be a sequel, or the character will transfer in the newly formed universe? If you ask me, there will not be a second movie, because this one will bomb hard, also, I'm not sure how you can do clean slate without the bagage of the previous universe, when you always lean to what was, not what it can be. In other words there is always a chance to see Blue Beetle again, but who will portray it and will the origin story be 1:1 identical is something I'm not sure about and I don't hold my breath for it.

In conclusion the movie is "okay", got its moments, but there is nothing really memorable, also there are two credit scenes, which are fine I guess.

The Flash (I) (2023)
6/10
Gone In A Flash
14 June 2023
It is one of the better DC movies, which is not some groundreaking statement by itself. It's good, but it's not the "greatest comic book movie ever" like it was promoted for a few months and you gonna see it by yourself soon.

Everyone is good in their roles, Ezra Miller, Sasha Calle, Michael Keaton....especially Keaton. I mean he got the scene stealers moments, alongside with Sasha Calle. Ben Affleck probably got the best few minutes as Batman and I mean better than everything he did in the past few of the movies, which is kinda shameful, because he deserved solo movie.

The story as you can expect is much inspired by the Flashpoint comics, but there are some big changes of course. Most of the story progression feels fine. Everything with Barry and his mother and the scenes where Affleck's Batman is talking with Barry is great, the humor for me it's hit and miss, the same goes for the VFX.

Props to Ezra Miller for portraying two irritating characters, making the younger Barry more irritating and the one we know kinda wiser. There are scenes when you can clearly see that one of the Flash characters it's not Ezra. It's the stunt double with blurred face or just VFX, but it's much noticeable. As a whole the desert scene it's kinda messy in my opinion talking about the effects.

Good to see Michael Shannon back. Great actor in great character. Michael Keaton as I said bring the smile to your face every time if you're from the kids grown with his Batman. Sasha Calle is really good addition to the movie. In some scenes her eyes and facial expression just talk by themselves. Speaking about characters, there are some cameos, some of which I guess you already know, some not, I'm not gonna spoil anything, but will say that some feels earned, others just throw there. In the end it's fun, don't get me wrong.

It is up there with "Man of Steel" and "The Suicide Squad" for the best DCEU movie. Like I said it's far from masterpiece, given that we watched "Across the Spider-Verse" so soon, it's like watching "Dungeons & Dragons" after "Inception", both enjoyable, but on a whole different level.

Kudos to Andy Muschietti, the man who delivered this movie, after the project got a few other directors, was in works for decades, been in production, halted, rewritten and finally see the light of sun, or maybe I should say was hit by the bold of lightning.

And yeah...there is a post credit scene, make of it what you want knowing the recent DC changes.

One Step Above Masterpiece!
31 May 2023
It's honestly absurd how good the "Spider-Verse" movies are. "Across the Spider-Verse" is just as great, if not better than "Into the Spider-Verse". I really don't know how. "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse" is fantastic! Deftly juggles deeply heartfelt character beats with crazy multiverse content, just packed with so many delightful easter eggs. Loved how Gwen's story is expanded, her scenes with Shea Whigham's Captain Stacy are truly special.

Can't wait for the third one. Every frame of this movie is gorgeous! I didn't want to blink because I didn't want to miss anything. You can watch this film over & over & finds something new to enjoy. There are some surprises in this film that I truly wasn't expecting.

"Across the Spider-Verse" is another milestone for animation. Yes it's gorgeous & visually mind-blowing, but this sequel surpasses the first for always putting Miles and his family front and center. The movie feels like a massive celebration for Spider-Man fans everywhere, whether you love the movies, games, comics, etc. But again, all the cameos and multiversal elements come second to both Miles and Gwen's story. Is a stunning achievement. Yes, it's visually dazzling, with expansive, expressive new realms The movie's real superpower is its emotional depth and its beautiful, melancholic tone.

What more can I say...It's an actual work of art! Every frame deserves to be hung in a museum. The jokes and nods to Spidey lore are perfect. It's outstanding. "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse" is yet another resounding win for the Lord Miller-produced universe. Hailee Steinfeld really comes into her own as Gwen Stacy. It's darker and sadder than I expected, but necessary.

Brilliant Conclusion Wrapped In Emotional Damage!
3 May 2023
Man...not only was worth the wait, but the movie is one of MCU's best to date and I'm not exaggerating even a bit. The Guardians are back in a whopping two-and-a-half hours long movie and thankfully, every minute is used with purpose, and nothing goes to waste.

Every character in "Vol.3" is perfectly incorporated and woven into its complex narrative tapestry.

Chris Pratt's Star-Lord might have been the lead of the last two films, but Bradley Cooper's Rocket Raccoon takes center stage this time around. Needless to say, the narrative work done for the character is amongst some of the best in the MCU.

It also provides some deeply emotional and disturbing moments as audiences learn the circumstances that created everyone's favorite trash panda...don't say that infront of him.

While Rocket was already one of the strongest characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, "GOTG Vol.3" elevates him even further.

This newfound focus on Rocket, however, doesn't ever take the attention away from the rest of the movie's sprawling cast. At no point does it feel like any character or plot point suffers due to the narrative focus clearly landing on Cooper's Raccoon.

When it comes to Pratt's Star-Lord, he's having a hard time dealing with the death, and subsequent revival, of his dead lover. Despite the complex emotional situation Quill finds himself in. The character's classic comedic chops are still very much present, as is the case for the humor throughout the film. This time around, the balance between laughs and heavy drama is pitch-perfect.

There are three specific characters who all could have had better characterizations and development in the franchise's prior installments - Gamora, Drax, and Mantis. All three are handled superbly, and in many ways, the development they receive here almost makes up for any shortcomings in the past.

This new Variant of Gamora feels far more aligned with her moniker of the Deadliest Woman in the Galaxy. Zoe Saldana gives her best performance to date as the character. Drax actually gets to competently fight while also making time to explore his softer side. And Mantis's powers are put to use in unique and clever ways, while she also gains more agency than just simply being a supporting punchline to Drax's many jokes.

As for Nebula, her story in "Infinity War" and "Endgame" gives the former villain a great foundation for "Vol.3" to build on. It feels like she's always been a member of the team, and despite her continued elevated anger, that's no longer her singular trait.

While previous iterations of the Groot may have come off as gimmicky for many, the version seen in "Vol. 3" feels like the most fully realized and elevated form of the character yet.

As for the newcomers, the obvious first person to mention would be Will Poulter's Adam Warlock. Teased at the end of "Vol. 2" five years ago, the character finally makes his proper entrance. Adam's story is not one that would seem like an organic fit alongside the rest of the narrative. However, Gunn does an incredible job of giving the character just the right amount of screen time without allowing anything to feel forced, unearned, or undercooked. He feels like a nebown child and kinda reminding you Vision in "Age of Ultron".

Needless to say, the wait for the Russian telepathic dog's arrival is worth the wait. While the role of Cosno in the film isn't much, it's just enough to feel satisfying and really makes audiences excited to see more of Maria Bakalova' s work with the character down the road.

Let's talk about the villain...Chukwudi Iwuji's High Evolutionary is one of Marvel's best antagonists, and he gives his all for every second of his screen time. Iwuji's performance perfectly encapsulates the terrifying, maddened evil genius to a tee. He's also impressively brutal at points in the story. While the character is notably changed from his source material, the core aspects of what makes the villain unique are all there. Like all of the best villains, the story makes his motives very clear and skillfully creates his twisted logic behind it all.

Not only is the High Evolutionary the best villain in any of the "GOTG" trilogy movies, but he belongs in the running for one of the best MCU baddies in general.

When it comes to the overall production design of "Vol.3" it's just as strong as always. The High Evolutionary's base of operations sports a unique and eye-catching aesthetic, while another space station made entirely of organic matter may be quick to make some squeamish.

As for the costumes, the core team's new matching outfits are fantastic. They are wonderfully comic-accurate, and many fans are no doubt thrilled to see Gunn put them on screen before his Marvel departure.

Then there's the VFX work, which, for the most part, is astounding. The high quality can easily be noticed during any sequence with a CGI animal-notably any and all of Rocket's backstory.

When it comes to this entry's mixtape, the musical selection is just as wonderfully chosen and curated as any of the previous Volumes before.

Not only did James Gunn successfully stick the landing for his era-ending story, but he's also gone and created one of the very best movies in Marvel Studios history.

It is everything you probably wanted to be and beyond. It is funny, action packed and extremely emotional. You gonna' need tissues for you and your friends and if you has loved all these characters through the years, then the emotions will caught you off guard for sure. This for me is probably the best MCU trilogy, beating the Cap's one for the prize.

There are two credit scenes, not five this time...but it will be hard to leave the theatre anyway, so you gonna check them.

Extremely emotional and memorable coclusion, which you will want to see with your closest friends.

The "Magic" Faded Away
15 March 2023
Gonna be honest this was never a movie I was really hyped for, just like the first one and the final result it's kinda the same. It's an "okay" B grade movie. No disrespect, there must be movies like this too.

The story it's pretty basic and if you watch the trailers you can pick up the pieces quite fast.

Nothing really special, nothing intriguing, it is more predictable actually. The kids are now grown up and I wanted to see more of their chemistry, but instead we got more action, which is not bad on paper, but in reality it's kinda blunt and forgettable for the whole movie.

Talking about forgettable things...the villains fit pretty well in this category. I mean Helen Mirren is outstanding actress, but it's "just another villain" scenario.

The effects at some times look underwhelming...actually the trailers hinted at that.

If you liked the first movie, I guess you gonna like this one too. I don't have many problems with it, it was just boring in my eyes. The humor is okay for younger audience, but there are some good jokes for more matured audience too.

Overall it's "okay", but it's not gonna be one of the more rewatchable movies in the DC catalog...I guess.

You're out of your league, Ant-Man!
15 February 2023
"Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania" is a psychedelic science fiction rollercoaster full of frightening and hilarious surprises, but don't overstay your welcome in the Quanatum realm too much, because Kang is watching every step of yours!

"Quantumania" is a good start to Phase 5 and you can see the future trajectory of the MCU and where it goes. It's exciting for sure! It works better as a first chapter of "The Kang Dynasty", than a third movie in a franchise, but this is not a bad thing, because if you're there for Kang, you will enjoy the heck out of this movie.

Jonathan Majors effortlessly conquers every second of screen-time he gets. He is charismatic, intense and brutal and his presence is felt among everybody else. The dynamic between Scott and Cassie is the heart of the movie, but it feels like something is missing, just like Scott wasn't there for Cassie. We don't see how she become a hero too, which is strange. Also the character of Ant-Man stays in the shadow of Kang in his own movie. The rest of the cast is just fine, maybe standing a bit more out is kick-ass Michelle Pfeiffer.

The comedy is there and it hits most of the time, but this one is not as funny as the previous two movies for sure, there are some huge stakes. The Quantum realm looks really good, particularly some scenes, just captivating visually. There are other things that are just weird, but in a good way. Most of them works pretty fine.

The music score hits hard in some of the scenes, the conflict is imminent, and the final battle is good.

For sure this is the biggest of the three films in scale, but I think the small scale was the mark of the "Ant-Man" franchise, now it feels like some of the hearth of the movie is missing.

It is a good mid tier MCU movie and with the proper expectations you gonna enjoy it. I was hyped for Kang and got what I want.

The idea to put the tiniest Avenger versus the biggest, baddest villain in the MCU is ambitious and it pays off well for the future projects. There are two credit scenes, both very important and you don't want to miss them!

Extremely Emotional Movie About Loss, Legacy And Healing!
9 November 2022
"Wakanda Forever" is MCU's 30-th movie and is phenomenal! The most powerful project of Phase 4. I can not understate how masterful the score is from start to finish. There are no weak links in the cast, but I have to give a special shoutout to Angela Basset and Letitia Wright's Shuri. Letitia is quite the beating heart of this film. And Tenoch Huerta? They couldn't have found a better Namor."

Ryan Coogler's emotional movies is about loss, legacy and healing. The story is intimate, but vast with global power struggles and palace intrigue. Tenoch Huerta's Namor is a force, better than I hoped. So much can be told...

The scope, the camera work, the acting, and the raw emotions on and off screen can be felt throughout! Fantastic sequel and a great movie. I knew it'd be emotional and it was. Expect your eyes to leak.

Immensely powerful story of forging forward-shattering at times, but also beautifully cathartic and heartening, still cannot get over how well the film earns that title.

If Chadwick could see this movie, he'll be proud as much as I am right now!

Black Adam (2022)
6/10
The Hierarchy Of Power Is About To Chan...Yeah, Not Really
19 October 2022
"The new era" for the DCEU is here, but sadly, it's not quite the jump in quality the cinematic universe truly needed.

The introduction of Black Adam is flawed as many of the previous DCEU movies have been, and there are no notable changes in direction that make it stick out in its own way. The movie fails to find a unique mark and doesn't really have anything interesting to say.

If everything you want from a superhero movie is the action, you got it, also sometimes the CGI feels overused. Try to go any deeper than that, and there's not much else to be found.

Best part of the movie must be Brosnan's Doctor Fate, but he can't carry the whole movie just by the look of his character. There needs to be a story...a good one, which is missing here.

There's not much that can be said about the film's villain, Sabbac, without spoiling the film. However, even if spoilers weren't an issue, there's still basically nothing interesting to say about him.

Even with all that said, given how big Dwayne Johnson is and how much power he seems to have over the franchise (and now the DCEU as well), fans should expect Black Adam to carry on in a big way going forward for better or for worse. New hierarchy they said? Yeah. No.

A Heartfelt Superhero Jam / Summon The Thunders!
6 July 2022
Taika has managed to balance humor, emotion and action in a way that must be experienced in order to be described. The story is more than interesting. Once again, Waititi points us in a certain direction, and just when you think you know what's going to happen, he turns our heads. If you liked "Ragnarok" you'll like this one too, if not...well probably this movie will not be your cup of tea.

At this point, everyone knows that Hemsworth was born for the role of Thor, but in this movie, he elevates his character to a completely different level...you'll see.

Natalie Portman returns as Jane, but unlike previous films in which she was not a particularly interesting character, Taika has applied her magic and, in addition to embodying her in Mighty Thor, makes her a well-built character. Her return to the franchise is important for Thor's graduation, but it also tells us a story you can't watch indifferently. She's also funny, something we can't say about her previous incarnations in the role.

All other supporting characters such as Valkyrie, Korg and Guardians also add a pinch or more of themselves to the final product. The chemistry between Thor and the Guardians is ridiculous, something we already saw in "Infinity War" and "Endgame". The chemistry between Valkyrie and Mighty Thor is something I can watch all day. Korg has a bigger role than and every scene is pure pleasure - that's what happens when you make enough pamphlets for a revolution!

Christian Bale...frankly it's still surreal that he's part of the MCU, but his role as Gorr The Godbutcher is quite the reason for an actor of his caliber to perform it. Gorr is brutal, some of his scenes will remain etched in my mind for a long time, but not his radical actions are the only thing that makes his character memorable. You know that once the villain of the movie makes you sympathize with him and understand him, he is more than "another villain".

One of the best action scenes in the entire Marvel universe is in "Love And Thunder"! I can't wait to watch the movie again! The film feels like a collection of several comic book editions of Thor, adapted in the form of a film, flooded with a solid dose of style and music from the 80's.

"Thor: Love And Thunder" is all that was expected and more. Taika doesn't do more of the same, but pushes the boundaries even more, giving you a solid dose of laughter, action and emotions that you may not be ready for! The film has many pleasant surprises for fans and the love for the details is visible. The film surpasses all expectations balancing absolutely bombastic insanity with moving character driven stories. Christian Bale is top tier and Natalie Portman is truly outstanding. Waititi may have just delivered the MCU's best movie of Phase 4 and certainly one of the top 10 in the entire Marvel universe.

You know this, but still stay for the credit scenes, which are extremely important for future events at MCU!

Astonishing & Terrifying Madness, But Not For Every Taste!
3 May 2022
"Multiverse of Madness" is the perfect blend between what we know from the MCU lore and Raimi's horror elements that I didn't know that I needed, but now I can't stop thinking about it! Starts off with the familiar MCU tone and switch to more horror and weird in the back half. I thoroughly enjoyed every second of it!

There's a lot of multiverse fun, but this is not cameo parade...saying that, there's a lot surprises. I mean a lot!

Liz Olsen is the real MVP for me, her scenes are brutal...you'll see. Benedict Cumberbatch proves that he's born for this role and this time you can tell how much fun he got playing all these versions of himself.

Wong is pure joy as always, such a great character, pure gem for the MCU.

America Chavez is the newest MCU member, but man...she instantly becomes favorite with her charisma.

Danny Elfman's music is insane, switching between Wanda's and Strange's themes so often is scary, but also so fulfilling.

The magic stuff, the battles, most of the visual effects, the MCU once again proves why this is the best universe...or should I say multiverse?

There're is so much emotional impact, but also of course universe consequences.

Stay out of the internet, before you see the movie! You don't want someone to spoil this astonishing new piece of the MCU!

It is the goriest MCU film it won't be for everyone, especially for kids, but all adult MCU fans will love it! There are a few clunky dialogues, but it wasn't big deal for me.

About the end and the credit scenes...

Morbius (2022)
5/10
Anorexic Weak Mess
30 March 2022
By any means this is not a good movie with interesting story and well-written characters. It's hard to determine, but maybe "Morbius" won the prize for the weakest film in SSU (Sony's Universe) and honestly it does with ease.

Leto is "okay" in the role of Michael Morbius, the problem is that the role itself is not very well written. Matt Smith is the one who had the most fun with his role, everyone else is just there.

The story is exactly what you expect to see - 90% similar to the previous two "Venom" movies, so there is no big mystery to unravel.

The effects are pretty...how to say it...for the most part bad for a comicbook movie in 2022. Let's not forget that this movie was supposed to come out in 2020, initially before "No Way Home". However, I'm not sure that the people who worked on it did their job in the extra 2 years time, because...well I'll leave that to you.

The main reason someone to be interested in this film is to understand how everything connects, given the easter eggs from the trailers. Well, don't expect too much, because you'll be disappointed.

Morbius is another interesting character, who does not need a solo movie, only to be presented properly. Unfortunately, Sony again has surpassed themselves even after they squandered so much opportunities with the "Venom" movies. Honestly, I don't have high hopes for neither "Kraven" or "Madame Web". The standard is pretty low.

The film is mediocre and feels like something straight from 2006, with some nasty effects and overall made just to make some dollars. Pitty. Disgrace to the character.

I can say that the best...or rather the stupidest they have left for the end. I mean the credit scenes will make you shake your head and laugh.

The Batman (2022)
8/10
Gripping, Living, Breathing Graphic Novel Comes To Life
1 March 2022
The Batman is grounded in realism like the Nolan films, yet drenched with a neo-noir pulp that captures the comic book vibe of Batman better than anything since the animated series like "Batman: Mask of the Phantasm". Matt Reeves for sure understands the character.

Finally we got to see a detective drama punctuated by moments of incredibly visceral action. Reeves's direction is dark, deep, intense & flooded with instantly iconic imagery! A live-action Batman movie unlike any we've seen. Beautiful and also Badass.

The script, performances, set pieces, & visual storytelling is phenomenal. Robert Pattinson shines as an emotional brooding Batman next to Paul Dano's terrifying Riddler. Zoe Kravitz and Colin Ferrell are so goud in their respective roles.

There are scenes that will forever remain attached in your mind. Also some of the dialogues in particular those with the Riddler will leave you speechless!

Tremendous music from Michael Giacchino once again! This guy knows the assignment.

Most likely this is the universe that must continue to develop at full speed, not the other one...

Your Senses Gonna Blow So Hard!
15 December 2021
It's...I'm still trying to realize what I've seen, but I've seen things I didn't think I'd ever see on the big screen! We all know that spoilers have been on the internet for more than a year, but apart from the things we thought, there are a lot of other things and of course I won't spoil anything, but...the film pulls very thin string from our emotions and it worked perfectly!

The story is solid, it's not just fan service, which was one of my fears, there are explanations for everything. Holland grows in front our eyes with this role and this is one of the many pleasant aspects of the film. Strange's role is important (not a big shock).

The villains are...I felt like a kid watching Spider-Man: The Animated Series again...I don't even know where to start. The film has more than a big stake and in some places you stand on the edge of your seat.

The action scenes are the best I've ever seen in a Spidey movie and are generally among the best in comicbook movies! There are so many well-coordinated scenes, that after the movie you will want to watch them again and again.

There are a lot of dialogues that hit the emotions really hard and that will be quoted long after the movie. In some places you even want the villains to prevail, because it looks so good and you want more and more and more...

There are comedic moments of course, most of which well placed, but compared to the previous two films, this one is much darker and more serious. Like I said, Spidey is growing up, and that's tangible. There are a lot of surprises, some smaller, others bigger, but the movie certainly deserves more than one watch with friends. The hall was exploding! (Endgame vibes).

Michael Giacchino's music, as always, is remarkable. The classic Spidey soundtrack mixed with some darker elements is a delight for the ears.

Open your eyes on four, because there are a lot of references, some more tangible than others, but hardcore fans will be more than happy with what they saw.

Knowing that this movie leads straight to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness...you better prepare for the unexpected!

Eternals (2021)

Spectacular And Beautiful!
3 November 2021
Probably this is the most beautiful MCU movie. Yeah, there are scenes that just must be seen on the big screen, and the fact that it was shot in real locations says enough about the size of the film. The big cosmic scenes will make you feel small. It's shot with a massive scope, looking visually different and intimate. Chloé Zhao has a really unique visual stamp. The cinematography is georgeous!

Eternals brings to our attention a lot of new and interesting information that will change the course of the Marvel universe. Chloé Zhao has created the most diverse MCU film to date - an emotionally epic one. The ensemble has great chemistry and everyone gets their moments to show off mastery. Their power sets are different and presented interestingly and beautifully.

It has laughs, great surprises, twists and heart to go with the gigantic, crowded story it unpacks. There are some real-life questions that are brought to our attention - some people will like it, some not. I personally got zero problems with it, as a whole the movie is maybe one of the most matures in the MCU.

At times it doesn't even feel like a "next comicbook movie", it's just a beautiful one, which will leave you hanging with some questions.

Ramin Djawadi's score sounds amazing in all of the scenes, mixed with the fight, which are just epic and creative. I got no other words to express it.

Easily this is one of the most important MCU movies for the future and you'll see why. I recommend that you do not be influenced by the rehearsals of people who purposefully hate the film, but look at the constructive things that are being written. It's not the best movie in the franchise, but it's a successfully taken risk, that will pay off in the years to come.

My only minor problems are that some of the characters were built better than others, but also there are 10 new character that we see for first time. The other one is that the story jumps from one period to another one idea more than desired and I also understand, that the group is scattered around the world in the beginning of the movie. That doesn't change the fact that Eternals is a must for the big screen if you're a movie buff and a true Marvel fan.

About the credit scenes...both are great, both will get you on the edge of your seat!

Weak Symbiosis
1 October 2021
Look, I'm not a hater, obviously I'm a comicbook fan, but man, this movie was nothing, but CGI fest, dumb humor and bunch of cliches at most. Maybe if you're not invested in the source material you gonna like it, but Venom is nothing, but clown at this point, which he is not in the comics for sure.

The dynamic between Eddie and Venom is same like the first movie, it's fine and funny at times, but is more of the same. The Carnage character was "okay" at best, it could been so much better. Missed opportunity.

Everything is so predictable. If you watch the trailers you'll know 90% of the movie.

At the end everybody will talk only about the credit scene, which speaks alot how forgettable this movie is. Not gonna spoil the credit scene, but if you put together 2 and 2 you already know what it is.

Also the runtime of 1 hour and 37 minutes hurts the movie so much. There is time for some stupid jokes, but no time for good storytelling, really?

I don't know, I guess the general audience will like it, but for me is on the same level as the first one. It's not a disaster, but it's also nothing memorable.

Absolute Banger!
1 September 2021
That was a freakin' blast! The story is complex and interesting it fills some gaps in the MCU and simultaneously is a great origin story for the character of Shang-Chi.

The whole cast is amazing, I mean there is so much chemistry between them. Simu Liu and Tony Leung are phenomenal in their respective roles. The Mandarin tho...so well created character.

The movie is amazing bridge between East and West culture. There is so much to explore, much like Wakanda. The history of Shang's culture is so rich.

The fight choreography is absolute kick in the gutts...in a good way. I mean this is something completely new for the MCU and they deliver it again! Everything looks so goddamn good and I can't help myself thinking about some scenes! Also, the colors, the effects, the camera work and etc. Everything is magnificent.

There is humor for sure, but there is also emotional impact. This is not some bland action packed movie, it's made with heart from fans for the fans. Kudos to the director Destin Cretton!

Killer soundtrack and the main song for the movie "Run It" fits so good with all.

There are a few surprises, that were hidden from the promos and trailers and man...just wait to see them.

About the credit scenes...they are two, both are good, but one of them is...SICK!

For sure deserves more than one viewing in the cinema, so much story building, details, action, fun. The people who underestimated this movie will be so surprised how great is it.

Wild And Bloody Spectacle
29 July 2021
Without a doubt, this is the best DCEU movie to date.

The story is good and very well executed. All the characters shine in their own way. The action is created with taste, the effects are great and the colors...the movie looks gorgeous!

It's fun movie, as you may expected, but it also has a heart. James Gunn has found the perfect point and combined things great in "The Suicide Squad".

This is definitely the best DCEU movie for me and I believe it will become the one for many people too. It's light years better than the 2016's one.

It's not "The Shawshank Redemption", but it's a damn good movie.

Black Widow (2021)
7/10
Well-Deserved & Packed With Emotions
5 July 2021
"Black Widow" is a movie that deserves to be seen on the big screen. Like us as fans, Scarlett Johansson has deserved it over the years and it's the only way to show it. Better late than never.

The whole vibe is close to that of "Captain America: The Winter Soldier", but I would not say that the overall idea is the same. The story is quite interesting and apart from Johansson's character, it also revolves around others that we will see in the future.

This is not the traditional origin film, as the action takes place over several time periods, but on the other hand, it fills all the gaps and gives us the information we have needed for years.

All the actors are great in their roles, but Florence Pugh and Scarlett Johansson stand out, mainly because of their relationship. There are a lot of emotional moments and honestly if the film had been released at the beginning of MCU, the effect would not be as strong as it is now, because over the years Natasha has become an important figure in this universe.

Most of the dialogues are really strong meaningful, so you can realize, that over the years Natasha has become one of our favorite characters.

The action is done with taste and you can realize by watching the fight choreography. There are several scenes between Natasha and Taskmaster, which are pure pleasure for the eye, although the Taskmaster story could be better.

I hope that every true MCU fan will appreciate the movie in the right way - in the cinema. As every movie in the universe, there are some surprises, some of which are really nice.

Style Over Substance
18 March 2021
Is it better than the 2017's one? Kinda...

Yeah, there is much more storytelling, but the main idea and the final outcome is the exact same. I mean you can polish old car howmany times you want, but is still the same old car, right? Same here with the whole "Snyderverse". DC are already ahead of his vision and this movie does nothing except to please the Snyder crowd.

Snyder is very good with the visuals and this is a known fact. The problem is, that you can't make motion pictures for 4 straight hours and telling people, that this is great idea. Maybe, if you're 14 and still loving the 2010's CGI, slow motion all the way and action over the actual story.

The effects are questionable, yeah they're better than 2017's, but this ain't some big achievement in my book. The villains looks like plain CGI puppets, there is nothing that resonate with me and no, I'll not compare Darkseid with someone from his rank, but you can do the math.

There're some plot holes, that ruin the whole DCEU continuity once again and this is just because Snyder thinks only about his 3 movies, not the grand scale of this universe. Some characters look complete different just because...he like them this way?

I still can't believe somehow you think adding characters like The Flash, Cyborg, Aquaman, Martian Manhunter, Darkseid and more for first time it's good for the bigger picture. There is no actual gradation, there is no empathy.

Still, there are some great shots, particularly with Batman and Superman. I said earlier that Snyder is a "painter", that's why my review is named "Style Over Substance". The nightmare sequence was the most interesting thing for me in this movie, added to the story we already know it feels like a whole other movie which is not a complete lie if you think about it. Snyder's plan was to make sequel where he explores this story and Darkseid eventually becomes the big baddie.

The music score is better (I appreciate great epic tracks). In some places it's overdramatic, but overall it's fine.

I'm glad that finally his vision is out, no matter that I think he changed a lot of things, knowing there will be no JL 2 soon. I just really hope this whole drama to end now.

Is it a good movie? Yeah, if you compare it to the bad cosplay show from 2017, but knowing that the story is basically the same, with more pompous scenes and still some bad CGI effects, I would say no.

Great visuals if you press the pause button constantly, not a great movie.

Long And Flawed
16 December 2020
The film is nowhere near the first one and it's predictable, which is tiring. If you're a comicbook fan, you've watched the second trailer and you have thought a little bit, you could find out for yourself, how the events will unfold in the exact same way and at the end you'll be right. There was not a single moment that surprised me.

There are some good action scenes, but most of them looks cheesy. The CGI is just bad. The colors are used on spot, but the thing that seemed out of fashion a long time ago and that was in the first movie too, is the excessive use of slow motion. Several times done it's fine, but to be used in almost every action scene...

Although things were predictable, I liked the performance of Pedro Pascal as Maxwell Lord and I would say that his arc was the best part of the movie, no matter how corny it was. The gradation toward Kristen Wiig's Cheetah was okay, but the final battle, if I can say that was a battle was lame. They could improve her as a character. Actually, she was there, just because, Diana must fought with someone and If you wonder why the fight between Diana and Cheetah takes place at night...well, because the CGI is bad.

There're too many cliches and nonsenses all over the place. Chris Pine is like transparent character. I mean he's there and he's important for Diana, bringing some heart to the movie, but we already knew that. Overall his character was written way better in the first one. Here he's kind of a emotional reminder for Diana plus "the funny guy" in the movie. Basically, this time, Steve is the "fish out of water", which parallels the first movie, where Diana was.

"WW84" feels too long and it really is. They drag some plot points way too much and you can feel that boring.

I'll not gonna spoil anything, enjoy the movie when you have the opportunity. I'll probably watch it again after time, but I think that my overall opinion will not change much. For me, the first one is way better as a whole, compared to this one.

The Myth, The Legend, The New Mutants
27 August 2020
Well, they finally released this movie...3 years later. Given that, the story originally had to be told in 3 separate films, I can say, that it turned out to be kind of a boring mish-mash.

For sure the dark tone we have seen in all the promotional materials is certainly noticeable, but I can't say, that there are so many scary or intensity moments. I guess it also depends on how old you are. The Demon Bear got cool design and that's it.

The cast brings nothing special to the table, except Anya Taylor-Joy's Magik character, which stands out in front of the others.

There are some great scenes, but in the end the movie is kinda forgettable. This movie was supposed to come out 3 years ago, a time in which many movies came out and people slowly lost interest.

If you are a comicbook fan, watch it and support the work of the people who worked on it, they deserve it. It's not some big spectacle movie, but it has it's moments.

Just watch it without high expectations.

Forgettable Harley Quinn Movie
5 February 2020
The movie is not that bad, but to be honest...it's a movie about Harley, everyone else, pale in front of her.

I knew, that there will be feminism, but the whole movie is about feminism, which IMO is too much.

I would categorize the movie as DC's version of "Deadpool", but it won't be quite accurate. It must be seen to be understand.

There are some pretty creative approaches, some not so much. The story is not very impressive, but I think it's expected, nothing really special.

Black Mask got exactly one comicbook scene...kinda. Everything else about him was just...strange.

The action is probably the best part of the movie.

The music somehow fits into the overall atmosphere, there're 2-3 strikes.

Considering that I was expecting to be a total waste of time, I can say it was boring, but not disappointing as "Suicide Squad". I would say, that it's forgettable Harley Quinn movie at best.
