6 Underground (2019)
6 Underground should have stayed buried
This movie is a mess from start to the final shot of the movie. Every scene is cringe worthy and despite sincere efforts i couldn't find one scene that justifies its huge budget. Its just a compilation of action scenes that urge you to stop caring about the movie. Watch it when you're high and maybe you'll like it. Lastly, the innumerable hip hop tracks are the worst thing about this movie. I beg netflix to not order a sequel to this garbage and pity it for trusting Michael Bay.
Bard of Blood (2019)
Please don't watch it..I did so you don't have to...Save yourself
I seem to be in the minority as of now because I absolutely hate this show. This show has the worst script and the constant overacting doesn't help at all. The background music has been used irresponsibly too. There is a scene in the series where Emraan Hashmi's character is slowly walking down the local market and the music in the background was for a chase sequence. I have never seen a series so "Mismanaged" as this one. In conclusion you can watch it but don't expect a smart witty suspence thriller that it aims to be but ends up being a B-version of it.I gave it 2 stars just because of its very final scene. The scene's worth 1.5 stars out of 2 I gave.
Tumbbad (2018)
Never seen before in bollywood
Bollywood has never been known for its horror stuff and neither is there much of a horror fan base per se in India. But still horror movies are made in India and almost all are like a B-grade version of a good horror movie with a lot of soft porn. But 'Tumbbad' isn't one of them and is perhaps the only bollywood movie that should be considered in horror category. This movie had my undivided attention from the get go.The opening frame itself sets the tone of the film and just never lets go and ultimately gives you an experience that will haunt you for days to come. The music is one of the best background music in Indian cinema history and blends perfectly with the tone of the film;in fact the music in part is responsible in setting that tense and haunting tone that encapsulates you for the entire run. If that doesn't make you interested in this then the story sure won't. If you love Indian cinema then please promote this feature because we need more of this.
The Walking Dead (2010)
You'll want to stop but you won't
This series is like any addiction...You'll love it,hate it,hate yourself for loving it but you still won't stop watching it. The first four seasons are absolute gems according to me and will absolutely get you hooked into it. 5th is okay-ish, 6th is the worst but after the 6th season finale you'll long for the 7th season and then you'll hate the 7th season and the hate won't stop until season 9. One more thing- You'll be so invested in this show that you'll start watching the spin-off(which is even worse somehow) to find some semblance of excitement. You won't find it but you'll still watch the show. Maybe its just me but more often than less these things do happen to people who start watching "THE WALKING DEAAAAD" na nana na,na nana na ;nana. mmmmmm ...You'll get it
Alita: Battle Angel (2019)
You'll like it..Doesn't matter if you've seen the Anime beforehand
I haven't watched much Anime(In fact the first and only series i watched is 'One punch man'). Despite any knowledge of the source material i found this adaptation to be highly entertaining. Visuals are just perfect and even the build up in the first half doesn't seem tiring as at its base 'Alita' is a coming of age story and all actors(lead or otherwise) complement that with ease. Screenplay could have been better and the characters could have used a little more build up but whatever this movie lacks in substance it more than makes up for in highly stylized and just mind blowing visuals.
P.S- The 'Motorball' sequences alone are worth your money. And watch it on the biggest screen possible
Mirzapur (2018)
Don't trust the critics on this one
I write this review after watching all 9 episodes and reading god awful critic reviews about how predictable the story line is and how gore and violence doesn't let it fly.
Don't listen to any of the critics on this for sure because this show is anything but predictable.I myself am an avid fan of cinema and have watched stuff across many genre and can testify that this is a new and original show with characters, dialogues and storyline to die for.Every review that you read will praise Pankaj Tripathi, even the bad ones and he deserves it but i guarantee you that have never seen 'Ali Fazal' like in this show and for me he stole every second of his presence and even scenes with Pankaj Tripathi.
