People forget that these implicitly biased characters are based on real life, unfortunately.
17 February 2023
While I am just as annoyed by the characters and the "plot holes" of their decisions and stupidity, I think this show is supposed to be a social commentary on how racism and prejudice isn't always as clear as someone screaming obscenities in your face. Implicit bias is that part of prejudice and racism that doesn't consciously realize that what they are doing (or their thought) is rooted in racism and prejudice. Our psyche will brush this off as something else entirely. How it's so easy to trust a judge and crucify a gang member, especially on first encounters. Implicit bias keeps racism alive.

In the wise words of Thor...
4 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Me like much!!

That's all I care to say but I need 549 characters more, so. I read some other comments and apparently there is a UK version. I might watch that after this one wraps. It's a show that actually makes me laugh and it's some clever stuff. The way they use the ghosts is pretty cool. Honestly, it gives me Being Human vibes (both UK and USA), only not as dark. I like how the hubby can't see them, and I think that should stay. Even though I want him to see them soooooo bad lol they can do more if he can't see them. Or maybe gets to see them on a special night but that is all. It could be an episode full of shenanigans but then a bitter sad farewell when the night ends, because they are his friends too. Ok, characters met. Watch the show!!

10 because why the hell not?!!
10 December 2022
Listen, for me, this is everything I wanted in a Christmas movie without realizing I wanted this Christmas movie. "Santa Claus is coming to town." LOL let's go!!!! Ah, my review is too short. So I'd say don't take the kids, have your stomach settled, and get ready to hear some of your favorite Christmas jingle classics in the soundtrack! This is a quotable movie, so you will annoy people who haven't seen it after you have, and it will remind you of some of the things you may have wanted from our own favorite Christmas movies growing up. How they "could" have been lol I also think it settles the argument of whether one certain movie is a Christmas movie at all. I believe this rendition will help address that lol.

People just love to hate!
8 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Listen, this show is good! It's fun and witty and Tatiana Maslani, once again, is killing it! Such a brilliant casting choice. This show is doing what it set out to do and it's doing it well. I'm just so tired of people hating online all the time. Here's a shorter question...what WILL make you guys happy? And try to think of an answer that won't make you sound like a whiny baby who needs a nap. Children! Absolute fetuses!

And I'm not even a hard-core Marvel fan. I could care less about the character archs and the comics (which I've read) matching the show and the use of their powers or the amount of money on SFX. What's the point in hating so much?!

And also, this is my main point. Scorsese needs to mind his business and anyone like him. I don't care if you found She-Hulk twerking "demeaning". Just another measly excuse for chauvinistic pigs to try to control women and how they view themselves. A women will never need your approval, nor should she care what you think. What she does and how she acts will never be anyone's business. So hell yeah, She-Hulking twerking with her client in her law office is baller as hell and you're just jealous! So yeah lol I guess I do care, maybe a bit lol.

10!
12 April 2022
Just because of how it made me feel. I'm not going to belittle it by trying to encapsulate it here. Such a great movie for so many reasons. Just go see it. Get ready to be intrigued, laugh until you can't laugh anymore, cry because of the beauty of it all, and then question existence on a cosmic level. Just get ready!

Morbius (2022)

I love Leto and was really looking forward to this movie!
4 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
After I watched it, I kept asking myself who I would say is mainly responsible for how it landed. Unfortunately, I have to say the directing and editing. As the MAIN reason. It was just one cut scene after another. No character development, despite the bleak effort in the beginning. And the effects were only good if a character was standing still. I had to guess what I thought the powers were for the floating color waves based off of my own knowledge of where storytellers go with science fiction most times. And the ending was so quick and effortless that I still didn't care by the time the story got there. And the 2 end credit scenes made no sense in the grand scheme of what Sony has been trying to build alongside Marvel. Yeah, sure you can find a fan theory on some Reddit style waste of time blog but why do I have to keep doing that with this Sony/Marvel crap? I haven't read the comics. But I shouldn't have to read comics to go see a movie. I didn't have to with any other comic book based movie. So that's not a good excuse for me to not understand what the hell they were trying to do here.

But like I said, I absolutely love Jared Leto. And I'm a fan of some gruesome vampire tales. So I was so freaking excited for this movie ever since it was announced. But I walked out of this movie speechless. Mainly disappointed.

Way funnier then I thought it would be.
2 April 2022
I knew it was supposed to be a comedy. And nowadays comedies are really a hit or a miss. But this one didn't take itself too seriously and they just had fun with it. Fun movie! Loved the casting! PS, stay through the credits for a bit.

Tenet (2020)
7/10
Not that complicated but also not that great.
11 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I saw Tenet in theaters. Everything happened so fast the entire time that I couldn't keep up with one conversation. Let alone 2 hours worth of plot dialogue. Not to mention, sometimes you really couldn't hear what the characters where saying. Lots of distracting elements that made me leave the movie thinking it wasn't that great and I really didn't know what they just did. I never cared enough to figure it out. But I'm rewatching it now because it's on HBO and why not and I'm not distracted anymore, so I can pay attention to the things I missed. Like the plot! And it's actually not that complicated. Nolan took a theory of science as we know it now and said "what if". The future was able to perfect this scientific theory into reality and then started sending inverted tech back in time to create their inverted weapon, which would have a devastating effect due to the scientific nature. It's basically a scientific breakthrough that ends up in the hands of power hungry war mongers; like all the other spy movies. But it's not a bad movie. It's actually a good movie. I just don't think it was the hype it was meant to be. And at the time this movie came out it was peak pandemic season. Hollywood was losing their mind because they thought no one was going to see a movie ever again so they recruited Tom Cruise to help promote Tenet in hopes that people would think it's so good a pandemic wouldn't even keep you away. But it wasn't. And it did. So I think, without the hype, it's a good movie. Just really pay attention to what they are saying; if you can hear them, that is.

The Batman (2022)

My kind of origin story!!!!!!
5 March 2022
I'm a DC fan, so I know I was going into this movie biased. I was at least going to give it a 6 or 7, depending on how far off and bad it was. I at least knew the cinematography and score was going to be amazing. But YOLO, so I'm going for 10. Pattinson delivers and then some, and Dano was such a great choice! It was scary, suspenseful, thrilling, and emotional. I couldn't believe I was about to cry in a Batman movie, but I held it together (not without trying). I'm going to see this movie so many more times! If for nothing else, those car chase and arena scenes!!!!!!!

Eternals (2021)
6/10
Yo!!!! Hear me out...what if (remember you heard it here first lol)
18 January 2022
Thanos is an Eternal from Titan. Right?! His brother is Prince Star Fox/Fire or whatever his name is. Also an Eternal. Thanos' main objective was to reduce the population of the universe. He kept saying it was about food and resources when he spoke to others but WHAT IF he knew of Arishem's plans, just like Ajak, and decided he would end the Celestials for some reason? Or control them? Or change their impact on the universe or whatever?

Don't get me wrong, I feel like the screenplay was really lacking unfortunately. But if we know Marvel we know this movie was made for a reason. I think that was the reason. That and Phastos made Shang Chi's 10 rings lol. How his dad got them idk.

DARY!!!!

They delivered. The mini series isn't even ended yet and I already know. Each episode ends and I'm frustrated I can't just keep watching to know what happens next.

And I want to wait several weeks so I can watch a few back to back but I just can't wait that long. I'm in too deep now lol.

Dave Chappelle: The Closer (2021 TV Special)
10/10
Dave will always make us take a close look at ourselves
7 October 2021
I will always think that Dave Chappelle is a master at accurately capturing the human contradiction and showing it to us in comedy. How else could someone present such travesties really? Humans think they are so much better, so set apart, so altruist and good. We think that so much that we will split into groups and start to throw stones at other groups. What irony! Dave captures these errors in humanity in such a clever way that I don't think I've ever seen, or will ever in my lifetime, see someone else be able to do it. And by "able" I mean take the blowback that comes from telling truth on a grand stage and poking fun. I know you either love him or hate him. I think he is a genius. And he loves humanity. He loves people. He would not be able to do this if he couldn't see it all. He truly is the GOAT!

This cast is top notch! The martial arts potential is through the roof. But the script, the directing, just so bad! I think these martial arts masters could have come up with a better movie all on their own. I didn't want to keep watching but I gotta support my dudes lol so I did lol.

Yeah, this is a good show!
8 May 2021
The first part of the first episode is tough to get through. They really try to drive home the whole "Code" thing and family discord and whatnot. But I got through the season and I'm very pleased with it.

First, you most likely have to be a DC, or Superman, fan to understand where the storyline was inspired by. DC, and the beginning of comics in general, started during the Great Depression with the newspaper comic strip, Superman. Superman was very, VERY, different in the beginning compared to where he is now.

It's almost as if the creators of the show took the comic book origins and made a superhero story from that. Very unique. Very different. But also very similar, strangely enough.

We live in an age where people like to hate on things because it isn't the same as something else they liked, or because it's not Marvel. It would be nice if we could get back to appreciating things for what they are, not what we want to compare them to.

Obviously I think this show needs a better rating but you know, haters are gonna hate and then start to compare shows to justify their hate.

My review, it's an original story inspired by a forgotten genesis.

If you can get over the fact that this is its own show and not something else you've already seen, you might like it. If you're looking for a Marvel movie I suggest you log into Disney+ instead.

Iko Uwais...nuff said
4 May 2021
It's so cheesy lol like almost CW level cheesy. But Iko Uwais tho!!!!!! His fighting choreography is so awesome to watch! If you like fun fight scenes then this is a good show to watch. Don't weigh to heavily on the story or actors though. Just the fighting lol if they got G. Evans on this show I bet it would be 10 times better. They obviously work well together.

I've read enough comments.
27 April 2021
Since when did this short film of artist expression suggest it had an answer for you? At what point did this become about you and your viewpoint? Did you make a short film about your perspective? If not, give it a shot. See how it goes. Try to tell us a story and see how we accept it. Or maybe you can watch us take it personally and start ripping it to shreds for not being something else instead.

If you haven't seen this short yet, by all means, please understand that it's not about you. It's a short about a black man in a time loop with a white cop from the black man's perspective. At no point will you see the words, "based on a true story", so I'd suggest you take the script lightly.

To those on here who justified the killing of human beings by asking "how" they walked down the street or "why" they were out so late at night, you obviously don't know the value of a human life. Either that or you do understand it and just don't think black people's lives are worth much. I guess they lose their worth when they stay out past 1am or spell their name different from yours.

Man, this comment section got me so angry! Oh yeah, and I almost forgot to mention. I'm white. And if you're reading this as a white person, and you understand the value of a human being regardless of their skin tone, don't stay silent when you hear stupid people like these start to talk. Just shut that sh** down quick.

Bottom line...if someone is not threatening your life then you have no right to kill them. At no point should resisting arrest or a traffic violation result in death. Never. No no nope and never. They created something called THE LAW to help with those types of appropriate punishments.

Thought provoking
14 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I've read all the comments (only 19 thus far). I've noticed that people either exclaim that they really liked it or they really hated it. And all views have to do with historical accuracy and the motive behind making such a film series. And half the comments sound like they didn't even watch the series, because they are saying things that Peck directly addresses. If you truly watched this series, how could you miss all of this? Easy. You're mind was made up before you pressed "play". After that point, confirmation bias took over.

For me, this series is a warning not to repeat our history of violence and segregation against each other. We have the knowledge of our past. That is not the issue. Peck reminds us of this. We don't want to see. We want to forget. We want to live in a fantasy land while those in power do as they please while we are distracted and divided.

Not just this series, but anything for that matter...if something evokes hate from within me, I must stop and ask myself "why do I hate?" So many horrible things come from hate. And if we freely allow ourselves to feel hate without fully understanding why we hate then we will continue to do horrible things to each other.

I, however, unfortunately am a hopeful pessimist. If there is such a thing. I do not believe humans are capable of such radical and unifying change, but I would welcome it freely if it ever came.

All this to say, please watch this series for what it is and do not make it about yourself. Just watch it and let yourself think about what you have heard and seen and how it will relate to you and the world around you from this moment forward.

Obviously I feel more favorably toward it, but to each their own.

That's it, nuff said. But apparently I need to write more to publish. So I will say again...this is, quite literally, 50 shades in a different era with even more drama. I finished the first season but really don't care what happens to any of the charters. Well, I lied. Eloise. That chick is hilarious.

This is fantastic!!! Usually CW shows are just so bad. I mean...so bad. But they have a few DC shows keeping the network afloat. This show is going to be a big part of that now. Such a great beginning! So excited to watch this show. The production value is such a better quality then most CW shows! I can only imagine the cross overs between this and the Flash!!!!!!! Highly recommend!

It's Oscar season and people are out for blood!
1 December 2020
If anyone has a negative review of this movie then they are trying really hard to hate it for some reason that will need explaining. It's a great movie. Very well done. Told this man and his family's story very well. And the actors did such a great job! Every year there's political pull behind movies that could be nominated and people with money trying to tell us how to think by way of the "news" or social media reviews. Well they can shove it this year! If 2020 has taught me anything it's that we've gotten wiser and figured out we can make up our own minds just fine. This movie's great! Thanks to everyone on the production that brought this story to the masses.
