Meltdown: Three Mile Island (2022)
A somewhat biased documentary, but yet an interesting piece of history
The documentary is a 4 part episodic variant with some reenactments, and witness descriptions of the Three Mile Incident. The creators have interviews with former workers and your regular citizen of the towns surrounding the area, and it depicts the incident well, as well as including a lot of good information.
However, the creators bias quickly emerges in the last episode, and quickly devolves into a "nuclear bad" retoric. Now, I am biased as well, as I am a staunch supporter of nuclear energy, but the bias showed itself too well, and thus the series only gets a 6/10 from me.
The Lego Star Wars Holiday Special (2020)
A nice homage to the classics. However...
Lego figurines with texture?! Lego figures don't have texture, neither do they have limbs that bend. This irritated me to no end, and made it difficult to enjoy the movie. I enjoyed the homages to the classics and the most notable scenes from the prequel, however it was pretty filled with bland jokes. I get that it's aimed at kids, however kids movies can also be made ridiculously fun for an older audience as well.
Lovecraft Country (2020)
Good rhythm, cool setting, amazing soundtrack and great story.
The series is off to a great start with episode 1. It is a bit slow the first 15 minutes or so, but the show has so good rhythm and good actors, that the "slow parst" work really well. It has some great "oh f***" moments, and the effects are pretty good. The mystery building also just adds on to the already great atmosphere.
To all you 1/10 rating snowflakes, go back to the 50's and cry me a river.
