This is show for people who like slow burns
16 July 2021
This a real slow burn. After about 20 minutes into the first episode I stopped watching. I thought there gonna kill me with the "I love you" but I gave it a second chance and after the first episode I was intrigued. You can't go wrong with all of the seasoned actors and well written characters. The directing was great, the plot made sense and the mystery made this an amazing show. You are constantly trying to guess what did this person do or how is this person going to solve this issue. It was believable and more of science fiction than horror even though it did have horror but not your typical jump scare horror. People these days want extreme horror plus jump scares so I think that's where the low ratings come from. This is definitely not a low quality production. Every detail fit and made sense. It's one of the best Stephen King adoptions. It's hard to find quality shows or movies these days and this is one of them. If it makes me want to read the book after watching then it's a 10 out of 10 for me. Took one star off for not including more characters. They do have to interact with people so it would've been more believable if we saw a bit more of other peoples lives.

Loved it
24 February 2021
My only issue with this movie is that I wish it was a little bit longer and had extra scenes within the movie. It feels like it's missing extra scenes. Apart from that: great acting, story, directing, soundtrack, and atmosphere. The atmosphere is just perfect and the pace as well. There is a lot of mystery here and it unfolds beautifully. Dan Stevens acted his ass off as usual and the rest of the cast fit right in. There should be a sequel but Hollywood just loves giving us more of the remakes and cheap stories.

Wow....

This is when you start to see that the slow burn is finally paying off. I think every episode is a bit tense and has the right writing and direction but this episode was by far the best. The cinematography of this show is superb. The shots make the scenes tense and they're also very creative. I am glad I gave this show a shot, I loved this episode. Amazing!

Bored out if my mind
31 January 2021
I was looking through my phone for entertainment during the movie. Writing had little to no creativity. The acting was off for about half of the cast and the movie just needed more depth. It's also not as scary as the trailer makes it seem. That was very disappointing because I'm a horror/fiction fan so I got scammed lol. These writers need to step it up and think a little harder for goodness sake....

Very decent

I need a part two and a bigger budget. You can tell that it was low budget but the writing and directing was good enough to pull off something great. The super powers that each person had were very interesting and unique. The powers aren't completely new but they feel that way due to the writing and directing. This should've been a blockbuster movie but it needed a bigger budget.

A bit boring
14 October 2020
The acting was good enough but the writing... so dull. The pace was so drawn out and I wasn't that excited to see the next episode because I knew more of that slow pace was coming. Great story but slow.

Amazing
12 October 2020
This is the first time in a very long time that I've watched a show and said "oh sh-t!" out loud. Last weeks episode and this episode really go hand in hand. I love the science fiction and how they bring it to life. Some might complain about the special effects but it fits this type of show. Usually I'd complain about that too but this show is too good to complain about such things that can be easily overlooked because of the amazing production.

There were so many little surprises and a few shockers in this episode. This show never disappoints on cliff hangers and mystery. I'm a sucker for mystery because It keep me watching. I'm a little sad that this season is about to end and I can't wait to see what they have in store for us in the season finale.

I like how each episode is different but this one made me miss the other characters of the show and this was a bit slow and boring for me. Just like the other episodes it was well produced and the story was interesting enough to keep me watching but unlike the other episodes, I paused this one a lot.

Had potential
26 August 2020
This movie had a great foundation with believable characters and plot. What kills it is the cheesy music and a few corny lines. It reminds me of that movie eye in the sky except they gave the characters cliche lines. Direction was decent and the action was great but again the music is such a KILLER here. I feel as if Christopher Nolan got a hold of this he would've made it as great as I think it could be. It has so much potential and could've became a classic by it's crazy how music can damage it all. What I did was insert other imaginary music while watching this and I was able to see the potential; that's how I know that they failed on the part.

Nice wrap up
17 January 2020
So I'm now seeing the solution to m. Night's film career, he just needs more time. I noticed that his movies are focused on building tension but that is difficult to do with just two hours especially with his type of storytelling. This episode was a really nice treat and great way to end the first season. He has a particular style and that's what I like about him. A series is what this man needed!!! The pace is a bit slow but that's how he builds up the tension which works especially in this last episode. If you don't have any patience for a slow build then this isn't for you. As for me, I hope there is a second season so I can see more of what MNS has to offer.

It is not a perfect show but it is good enough. I've laughed out loud so many times and there are not many shows that make me do that which is why I give it such a high rating. The concept, and everything about this show is done very well. I am happy I have it a try because it brightens me day despite all of the weird things that happen in it lol.

I was really hoping that they'd put a little more into this episode than the last but this is getting out of hand now. It's like someone teasing you with small bites of something that tastes good and your stomach starts rumbling from being so hungry. That is where I am now with this show. I defended the last episode but now I'm getting impatient.

It's all in the details
19 December 2019
This is not a show for everyone because it's focused on the subtle clues in each episode about this girl "servant". I do agree with it being a little dragged out but I can deal with that based on the subtle things that happened to the more obvious scenes that something actual is happening. The end of this episode almost reminds me of the end of inception where everyone was questioning what really happened. You have to pay close attention to the little things to really enjoy it.

What a drag
5 December 2019
This episode is the worst so far. It dragged and dragged to the point where my brain started to fall asleep from watching such a dull, boring episode. Sure there are some scenes with excitement but it's lacking depth here. Right now I just want to see how it all ends, I don't care too much about what's taking place anymore. People complained about season 1 being boring but those same people might say this episode was even more boring than any castle rock episode ever. The pace is very slow and not much was revealed so it felt like the writers didn't know what to do but use this as a filler.

Well done!
30 July 2019
Bravo! I used to like superhero movies when I was younger but now it seems like they're just making them left and right so I got tired of them; plus they all seem the same. This is a very refreshing new kind of super hero show. Well written, great use of music, directing, acting is great from the entire cast (rare to me in super hero shows).

There are a few moments where you think it will be a bit predictable but then there's a little twist right around the corner. The twists aren't absolutely major but they are just the right amount of surprise you need to keep you wanting to see what else happens.

Any show that I want to watch a second time from beginning to end is a great show in my book. I hope there is a second season and I hope it's as good as the first.

Even I could've done better
20 May 2019
You couldn't at least make Arya (don't know how to spell it) kill Tyrion to take off his face and turn into him and then approach Danny like he did after she gave that speech and then have Arya kill her infront of the her men so that they could run after her after she quickly slashed the queens throat and run away as swiftly as she can because she's an assasin? TF?!!!!!!! I don't care if I just wrote a run on sentence because my idea is way better than what I saw in this last episode. I won't even write what else I think should've happened in order to make the show better. What a waste.

So many emotions
22 April 2019
In every episode they unravel so much and give you a taste of how well a true series can be produced. I was genuinely surprised especially towards the end. I did not know what to expect in a few scenes and I loved that they were able to surprise me two times!! This is the reason why I am still watching. I don't want to be able to guess what's next or else it wouldn't be as fun as it is. Keep up the good work, this is great.

Had to change my rating
19 April 2019
I don't know what these other people are watching. I am shocked to hear these reviewers talk about how bad this show is especially the second season. I changed my rating based off of the second season; it has added even more "seasoning" (lol) to the first season. The second season has just continued the story that was started in the first season but made everything even more interesting. For those that say that the writing isn't good I feel like they are expecting a perfect script when this is a comedy that packs so much into one short episode each time. Many of the scenes have that "improve" feel to it, like the actors are so comfortable with the storyline that they can just improve and stay with the storyline and add a lot more real-life emotions to the show. In conclusion this show does not deserve a 3 star rating when there are other horrible shows out there that actually deserve such ratings.

Entertaining
16 April 2019
I don't like to compare anything to breaking bad or better call Saul but Barry reminds me of those shows so much. Barry is entertaining in so many ways, there is never a dull moment. This episode is one of the best episodes HBO has ever produced. I laughed so hard with this one. I love the creativity and how much they put into such a short amount of time, that's what makes each episode perfect. The action and humor was great this episode and I can't wait for the next one.

Good enough
16 January 2019
I don't know why some people give this low reviews but it's decent. It's very creepy and the only reason why I didn't rate it a 9 is because it needed more detail and more time to develop a better story. It was also very dark ALL the time so it made the movie feel like it was stuck in one place trying to scare people. It's better than a lot of other horror movies though. Give it a try and don't listen to the low reviewers, they're a bit delusional if u ask me. I can bet if this had some more money that it would be amazing.

Meh
13 January 2019
I really don't know what to think here. It is definitely Sci-fi and has some action in it but it is such a depressing movie. It also feels very incomplete so I was disappointed to see it end with no big shock factor. It's the kind of movie you're glad you didn't waste your money to see in the theaters. When it comes down to it, it's mediocre and needed more details.

A classic
5 November 2018
1. The production is on point. 2. Acting is very decent 3.directing is great! 4. Writing is pretty decent 5. Characters fit right in

This gives you a modern day, dark twist on teen shows while paying homage to scary movies from the 80's and 90's. It has a "Jason" feel to it. I'm in love because they don't hold back on the darkness but the darkness isn't overwhelming. I will be savoring it and not binge it so that it can last longer. A story about witches should be dark. It's also very cool, not pretentious and that's a plus when doing something like this; it needs to be authentic. I recommend 100%.

Intriguing but not wild enough
18 September 2018
For a revenge movie I expected more and I KNOW Nicholas Cage has a lot more crazy in him. I was expecting some "face off" acting but he was one step below that and that is only due to the writing and directing. So I don't blame Nicholas but that's what it came down to.

It is very unique and I loved that about it. In the beginning it was very mysterious and intriguing but started to lose its wonder at the end. The writer could have took it up a notch and put some more details into it.

The fight scenes were ok. That's about it. They could've been a lot more creative in the way he got his revenge but overall it was a solid movie although not gonna be a classic for me.

Hated the ending
12 September 2018
The tension was so great throughout the episode and I get that they want to leave room for the second season by leaving the ending that way but it was just too dull compared to what already happened. Where's the climax?! Two points taken away for that but the rest of the episode was very interesting. I am disappointed that this is how it ended. No creativity in the last couple minutes compared to the greater moments this show has had.

The creativity was lacking so much at the end that it looked like they didn't know how to end it and it came off a little corny as well. That took away from the mood and tension of the show.

And I am not paid to write this, I watch it at 12 am Wednesday's because I can't wait to watch it.
