Jay Baruchel

Jay Baruchel is the reason I watch this show and give it a 9 out of 10. He is a grossly underused comedic actor.

Someone Give Tom Holland an Award
18 March 2021
Amazing cinematography full of rich and vibrant imagery. Tom Holland absolutely gave this role his all because his performance throughout is phenomenal even with others in a scene you'll find he's the only person you're really watching.

Gothic Crime Noir

I found this series incredibly thrilling and full of plot twists and turns that left my jaw on the floor! The acting was excellent and the storyline kept me interested and I'm really hoping for more seasons to come. If you enjoy watching or reading thrillers full of plot twists I recommend giving Tell Me Your Secrets a try.

Weirdly Divides in Rating
22 February 2021
I thoroughly enjoyed this miniseries. It boasts a pretty fantastic cast that delivered especially Alexander Skarsgard and Nat Wolff and is about a pandemic bringing about a dystopian world and it delivered on that front I felt as well. I'm glad I didn't just go based off of reviews (especially the absurd ones that were in defense of Depp and have nothing to do with the series and therefore shouldn't even be included) because I would've missed out on a series that took my mind off of the real life pandemic we're all living through and on another one that had some light at the end of the tunnel.

New Favorite Film
11 February 2021
Warning: Spoilers
As stated above I have already watched this film multiple times and it's great each time because upon rewatching you pick up even more little details that continually enhance my opinion of it. The entire cast is amazing and Emerald Fennell is a bloody genius casting male actors we've all seen portray good, funny and goofy characters and they start that way in here and then a 180 happens and you're like "Schmidt no, don't do it!", "Piz, you better hope Veronica Mars doesn't come for you!", "Seth don't make me call Sandy!", "McLovin why couldn't you just tell her what time it was?!" Carey Mulligan hands down is flawless in her embodiment of Cassie, just as she was as Daisy in The Great Gatsby, she should receive multiple award noms and hopefully wins for this film. Don't even get me started on Bo Burnham, I've followed his career for years and to have him break our hearts and hope for just one "good guy" was unforgivable he did Cassie and Nina and all of us dirty in here!

Hunter Hunter (2020)

Still On My Mind
12 January 2021
I watched this movie yesterday and I kept thinking about it after it was over and before I went to sleep and throughout the day today, to me that warrants the material a high rating. This movie rattled me to my core. Hunter Hunter has me wishing it was based on a novel so I could get even more of the story and details. The ending will live rent free in my mind probably forever. All in all it was a bloody brilliant film, emphasis on bloody so if you're not good with gore there are parts of this movie you'll have a difficult time stomaching. Nick Stahl has been one of my favorite actors for years so it was great to see him back at it. Highly recommend to fans of psychological suspense/horror that also enjoy a slow burner that ends in an inferno.

Him & Her (2010–2013)
10/10
Realistic Romance Comedy Series
25 October 2020
Him & Her is, at least for me, the most realistic television portrayal of a millennial couple I've ever seen. Russell and Sarah do an amazing job of making you believe they are in a long term, super comfortable relationship and they're incredibly funny while doing so. Steve and Becky remind me so much of my now husband and I that I'm going to be immediately rewatching this series with him. I'm American but watch a lot of British series, especially comedies, because I find them to be more realistic than our shows that make it seem like everyone is flawless and rich (I'm looking at you Friends) which gets quite boring. I've enjoyed every UK comedy show I've tried and Him & Her is now a favorite.

Better than A.P. Bio
9 August 2020
I recently discovered this series on Netflix and found myself laughing out loud and therefore hooked by the first episode which isn't always the case with comedy series. When I was watching it I realized how similar it is to the American comedy series A.P. Bio (which came after Bad Education) but funnier; so if you're a fan of A.P. and comedy series in general you should try Bad Education.

Form K 4Ever

I'm a huge fan of the series and all of the characters and was so sad when I finished the series so when I discovered there was a movie I was ecstatic and as a massive fan it didn't disappoint. If you love the series and these awesome, hilarious characters than you'll probably like the movie.

New Favorite
23 July 2020
I'm currently watching it for the third time. All of the main characters are great and all add something special. Troy and Abed are my absolute favorite, their side stories like Troy and Abed in the Morning and handshake are some of the best parts of the series. Season 6 is the weakest, in my opinion, mainly because so many OG cast members left. Here's to hoping for that movie someday #SixSeasonsAndaMovie

After (I) (2019)
1/10
Poorly Adapted
28 June 2020
If you're a fan of the book series like myself you'll be highly disappointed with this watered down, edited version of the story. So much is missing from the film including the sex scenes that the books are known for; say all you want about the Fifty Shades films but at least they included the adult content and went with an R rating instead of a childish PG-13. It's also edited in such a way that it feels like it's jumping all over the place, the acting is weak and there's no chemistry between the leads whatsoever. Basically skip this unless you're a preteen at a sleepover and are feeling rebellious because your parents think it actually contains adult content so they've forbid you from watching it.

Should've Lasted
21 June 2020
I'm watching Champions for the second time and it's even funnier than the first time and it really should have been given a chance for more people to discover it. Plus it's from the brilliant mind of Mindy Kaling and has an amazing cast, many of which were on The Mindy Project another great series.

Sleeper Hit
4 June 2020
The Mick is a series that everyone slept on and unfortunately it was cancelled far too soon as a result. I'm currently watching it for the third time and it's still just as funny as it was the first time. Kaitlin Olsen is criminally underrated and should get a lot more comedic roles based on her performance here as well as on It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

This a generous 5 stars
7 June 2018
My 5 star rating stems from my love of Lifetime Original Movies (shoutout to LMN!) because "Dude" features just about all of the Lifetime movie themes in a SINGLE movie! Plus this movie features better actors and the benefit of a bigger budget than a LIfetime movie. If you're like me and enjoy more than one lifetime movie than I recommend giving this movie a try.

13 Reasons Why: Bye (2018)
Season 2, Episode 13
8/10
Reality Check Viewers
25 May 2018
I found season two as a whole quite good; I enjoyed it as much as season one and hope there's a season three. That being said I know why this episode is being so poorly rated, THAT scene; but the thing is if you do the research as I did after viewing this episode, what happened to Tyler is happening at an alarming rate in schools all across the U.S. and most likely the world. It's become quite an epidemic in mainly high school male sports teams that younger players are being sexually violated by older team members with fingers and other foreign objects and teachers and coaches and schools are ignoring it or trying to pass off these sexual assaults (RAPES) as "hazing" and "boys will be boys". Do you not all see that's exactly the point this series is trying to help shed light on?!?! The scene/this series is fake, that scene was fake with actors faking what was happening, and clearly it's messed with viewers and that's GOOD; because what happened in that staged scene is happening to young men every day and just because we're not used to seeing it portrayed as we are with male on female rape (which the fact viewers are clearly desensitized to that form of rape being shown is another problem) doesn't make it not real which is why this series included it because it's a horrible subject that NEEDS to be addressed so real life victims can start to feel seen, so they can begin to feel like they can come forward and get the justic they too deserve. If it upsets you to see it fictionally then figure out what you can do to help end it happening in reality instead of acting like it was just a scene for shock, it was a scene to make real life victims be seen. Grow up and do something to help these victims.
