On the Line (2022)
Solid classic Mel Gibsom
A little Die Hard, some The Game, and some good old Mel Gibson fun. While On the Line isn't the greatest movie, it held my interest with non-stop suspense. It is a real nail-biter until you realize what is really happening. Mel does a great job of playing Elvis the Talk-show host, and delivers a good believable portrayal of a man on the edge. The story gets moving very early on and builds to a crescendo that might be a bit too predictable. But still very entertaining. It's good to see Mel Gibson in a decent role again, and while this movie wasn't a Lethal Weapon or a Braveheart it was a pretty decent movie.
Organ Trail (2023)
Cold uninteresting movie.
I really tried to like this movie because I like westerns, but this movie could have been about hikers, campers, or just people lost in the woods. Scenery and music does not "make" a movie, and although there is some decent scenery the aggravating score does nothing to help this clinker. The story seems to drag and would have made a good 20 minuter TV show, but not a full length movie. There were too many characters to develop in the time it took to drag this movie to a conclusion. A little more actual story and a lot less unnecessary shots of people walking back and forth in the distance might have made this a better movie. The bad guys just need to be bad guys, and not spend every scene proving how bad they are. This director should learn to tell a story, and not waste film. Sad... because this story had some potential but it got lost by actors trying to be evil Clint Eastwoods. There is a great deal of stupid and unnecessary dialogue that make this movie forgettable. A better title would have been Dragging Trail. Not one of my favorites by any means.
The Black Demon (2023)
You have seen the best parts if you've watched the trailer...
Why watch the movie and ruin the trailer? The half Spanish crap without translations and the flicking of information without the time to actually see what it is they are looking at was so distracting. What was the deal with the little men in the boat??? ...I don't know because it wasn't explained. What a cheap piece of crap this movie is. I really felt like I was watching either a movie that wasn't quite finished, or I was wasting my money on a story that would have been a poor choice on Tubi. Too much droning on and on about legends and not enough action from the shark ...this was supposed to be a movie about a shark, a demon shark, or a megalodon so where is the action from the shark? This was one of the worst examples of storytelling I have EVER seen! Save your money on this one, because it is bound to show up in the bargain bin at Walmart very soon. I drove home after seeing this movie and even though nothing happened on the way, it was a better story than this trash told. The Black Demon didn't live up to expectations by even the smallest margin. Did someone forget to finish writing the script? I kept waiting for it to get better but it just kept sinking deeper into the hole. Maybe having a story focusing on a megalodon, an oil rig, a family, a Mexican legend, and something about little men in a boat was a bit too much to deal with in the time it took for this movie to sink lower than Sharknado, but Sharknado didn't come out as a serious movie. Not a lot of shark and too much back-and-forth banter in Spanish and English set the tone for people to get tired of reading the dialogue and missing the action. To be honest there wasn't a great deal of action anyway... I am so sick of crappy shark movies, and The Black Demon was right up there on the crappiest shark movie I have seen since The Two-Headed-Shark Attack. I bought my young son a plastic bat at a flea market while carrying him in a backpack carrier. He spent the entire time there hitting me in the head with it. That bat was a better purchase than buying a ticket for this crappy movie.
Below (2023)
Please God... fdon't let them make a sequel....
If it were free to watch this movie the price would be too expensive. Horrible, predictable story that has been told already. What a piece of garbage this one was! I feel bad for the actors in this movie, because it will be listed in each of their filmographies. It is as though someone asked, "How bad could this movie be?" ...and they took it as a challenge. They should have stayed home and never made this masterpiece of a movie. A train wreck that you keep thinking is going to get better... but it never does. This director is really going places... unfortunately those places are down. If I were going to list a spoiler for this movie it would be "Bad Movie! Stay AWAY! Save Your Money! Watch something you have already watched...Not worth the time!
The Reef: Stalked (2022)
Sad story about a bad shark movie...
I bought this movie early with high expectations. $14.00 wasted. How do they keep making the same old garbage. So predictable, so dumb, and so "seen it all before". One of those forgetable films that will stay in the .99 cents bargain bin until someone makes the mistake of buying it. Decent acting, but the stupidity of the adventure killed any redeeming qualities this POS may have had.. ead the box cover and call it quits, because this one is a dumpster diver for sure. I don't know how it is rated at 4.7 stars right now, but I am sure the rating will become a little more honest as the weeks go by.
Shriekshow (2022)
Made me shriek thinking I wasted 99 cents to see it.
Wooden acting performances, stereotypical characters, and bad editing make this a film that would be shown as an example of poor film making. This piece of drivel includes characters who have guns for no reason, that would be more at home in a failed TV pilot about mentally deficient police academy dropouts than in anything more intelligent. The director gives all his friends a part in a movie, and supplies them all with dialogue to highlight their lack of acting skills. It is one of those films that screams "Hey! Let's go out and buy new clothes and get our hair done, and pretend we are 16 years old, and make a movie without a script!" There are so many things wrong with this movie that a complete review would be longer than the actual film. I kept thinking this film would get better, but it got worse! . You would think that somewhere along the way one person... an actor, the director, the cameraman, or perhaps one of the liquor store employees would have trid to correct one small mistake, but there is no small mistake, as the entire movie is a mistake. The biggest mistake is the entire movie. Every so often you run ito a film that is a sleeper, but this thing should have been left in a coma! What a piece of crap! Don't waste time or 99 cents to see this. I felt like it needed something redeeming, and realized that burning the film in a campfire would have been more entertaining for me. In case you haven't caught my drift... run! Tell others to avoid it... it sucks the intellect right out of the viewer. "One stupid thing after another!" would have been a better title, or maybe "My friends at the laundromat make a movie while waiting for the clothes to dry.
Shark Bait (2022)
Middl of the road shark movie.
The Reef, Open Water, Great White... nothing new here. The acting was decent. Predictable and typical . Not a bad watch, but nothing to write home about...
Morbius (2022)
Slow moving story...
There was so much un-needed material in this movie. Plot holes, and "I wonder why?s" abound. The special effects in this movie were great, but the art of telling the story just isn't there. I think the director had a problem turning an idea into a movie. All the elements are there...it just starts off so slow that you are nearly sleeping when things get good. If they took the first half of the movie, and threw it away.... and then added a little story to the last half, this movie could have been great, but I feel like they fell short. It was an "ok" movie, but nowhere near the film it should have been. It is a shame when there are really great actors, but the construction of the movie plays like a collection of trailers from different movies. There was too much character building, and I think he movie loses some of its' audience early on because of it. Just tell he story for crying out loud! Is it a superhero movie? A buddy movie? A love story? A spy movie? Pick a genre and stick with it. This was a bad screenplay for a great idea. I loved the comic book as a kid, but if I had seen the movie before reading the comic book... I wouldn't have purchased the comic book.
Bulldozer (2021)
Bad acting, music, dialogue...
I am feeling like I spent good money to see this movie, but it was on Tubi for free. I still think it was too much. Vrey flat and mundane acting. I felt as though the actors were reading the script for the first time. The background music is irritating and does not reflect what is going on in the story. Maybe the music was suffering from the same boredom as I was because the story was like an essay from an elementary school student. Not worth the time...
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)
The superheroes are the reviewers who lead us to believe this movie deserves 4 stars at most! CRAP MOVIE!
I went out to the lobby to check and make sure that this was the same movie that actually got ratings higher than a 5. How do people get away with saying how much they were disappointed by the movie, but still rate it a ten? Are they giving it a "Sympathy" vote because it is a DC comic attempt at a movie, rather than a Marvel movie? It almost became "Me vs The Cinema", as I was going to ask for a refund of my ticket price! I can honestly say that I have felt like walking out of a few movies, but was ready to run out on this one... HORRIBLE, GARBAGE, and if I were to be given a DVD of this title I would use it as an ice scraper in my car. How much farther can Superman and Batman movies sink? ... not much farther than this one folks.
What kind of valid rating can be constructed of reviewers who agree that this movie was not the best, yet give it a ten star vote on the rating system? Are you trying not to hurt anyone's feelings, or damage the self esteem of the people responsible for putting this crap on the screen? Review after review relates that this is not the best movie, yet they rate it 10 stars? This is like observing an Olympic diver bounce off the board and perform a "bellyflop", and give a 10 score for the height of the splash! Where do these votes come from? Someone please pay me a few bucks so that I can throw a few bogus reviews out there. I can write things such as:
"IT IS AN OVERLY LONG, BORING PIECE OF WORK WITH NO REAL STORY, BUT IT WAS JUST WHAT I NEEDED TO GET SOME SLEEP IN A PUBLIC THEATER! 10 STARS"
"IT WASN'T AS GOOD AS MOS 5X, BUT SO MUCH BETTER THAN WD40! 9 STARS!"
"THE HEAT IN THE THEATER FELT GREAT, AS IT WAS BELOW ZERO TEMPERATURE OUTSIDE! 10 STARS!"
"I REALLY ENJOYED THE PREVIEWS OF COMING ATTRACTIONS! 10 STARS!"
How does this crap get produced? A great deal of special effects, but they forgot to add a decent cohesive story. My friends tell me "You must be a fan of both universes to understand the movie" I say "Bulldinky!!" All the buildup and publicity, the secret chatter about the production... What a load of horse crap that was. THIS FILM IS A TOTAL WASTE OF 2 1/2 HOURS!!! I would have liked it better if it were 1 1/2 hour long, because I feel that I would not have wasted the extra hour that I did waiting for the movie to suddenly "Get Better..." before it ended. I read both Superman and Batman comics as a kid, and let me tell you, if the comics back then were half as bad as this movie is now I never would have bought another DC Comic. If there is a comparison of DC and Marvel these days it is that DC Comics has a problem telling a story if it isn't referenced in a book as an inside joke known only to the select few people who read the small print.. Waste of time, talent , money, effort, and blank film. Steer clear of this piece of crap movie, and wait until something better comes along like King Kong vs Curious George, because you will never recover the time you spend trying to stay awake for this gem...
