The Shell Seekers (2006)
Poor Adaptation
I know that an epic novel like the Shell Seekers needs to change somewhat to be a television mini series, but that shouldn't mean you drop major characters (Sophie?!?) and change major plot points (Cosmo?!?) or change character descriptions to the point of absurdity. I loved the book, but this was completely disappointing.
Penelope was a tall dark haired, dark eyed beauty. Antonia had golden hair. Nancy was fat and blond and was never put together. Could they not find actors to match Pilcher's beautiful descriptions? Or was this just a vehicle for Redgrave, so everything else had to fall in line?
WeCrashed (2022)
Anne's Voice worse than Jared's Accent
I suppose the real Rebekah had a deeper voice. It was so off putting when Anne Hathaway would appear to remember to speak deeper mid scene. Happened at least twice in every episode. Distracting as heck.
Val (2021)
Touching and sometimes sad - but inspirational
Some who remember Val Kilmer as the arrogant Iceman of Top Gun fame may find parts of this hard to watch. Throat cancer devastated his speaking voice and he's no longer the good looking heartthrob. But his documentation of his life's journey as an actor, a father, and, well, a human is amazing. It's a good reminder to focus on those who love you and face life's challenges with humor and fortitude.
Thank you, Mr. Kilmer for sharing your story.
Lost (2004)
Better with each viewing
I just finished my third viewing of the entire series. I love it, because I always catch something new. One of the most complex, intricately woven stories of our generation. Phenomenal acting and a musical score that is beyond compare. I look forward to watching it again in the future.
Wild Mountain Thyme (2020)
Lovely
Funny, charming, and sweet. What a lovely way to spend a couple of hours.
SAS: Red Notice (2021)
Did everyone see the same movie?
Based on some of the reviews, I have to wonder what movie those folks saw. I thought it was fast paced, exciting, edge of my seat fun! All the actors did a great job! I hope there is a sequel.
Little Ashes (2008)
Pattinson was awful.
Such a disappointing performance. Dalí was a complicated figure, but the way Pattinson played it, was was almost a caricature. And a bad one. Beltran's performance was better but didn't make up for Pattinson. The story, was hard to follow and the sound was awful. Never good when the music is so loud, one can't hear the dialogue.
