Land of Bad (2024)
Amazing and Realistic!
People who might dare to give this movie a bad rating are either very unhappy and want to make other people miserable by criticizing something that they know nothing about or/and they've never been in a combat situation and know nothing about real danger.
The only thing I didn't like about this movie is the fact that whoever is in charge of marketing and promotion should have been fired immediately. I heard nothing about this movie until family members told me that they felt I would find an interest in it, since I survived combat situations as a ReCon Marine. Certainly Hollywood has to add a dash of pizazz, but this movie would most certainly be rated among the very best of action military thrillers ever, if it was rated by people that know how realistically this movie relates to actual combat situations. . It's moving and emotional to those of us who've actually experienced danger. Although I've been out of the Marines for quite a few years, several scenes in this movie "touched deep" emotionally. I had to call a family member to get calmed.
If you're looking for frivolity, stream one of those "cream puff" movies. This movie is clearly Amazing and Realistic.

Blue Bloods: Family Secrets (2020)
Touching The Hearts of Tough Guys!
In any dramatic series, there are some episodes better than others. This episode, however, certainly must be rated among the very best ever for "Blue Bloods". As a law enforcement officer, with more than 20 years of experience, I rarely get involved with watching "cop shows", because most of them are too far from reality. This show, instead, while staying as close to reality as possible, has many touching moments which also relates to actual family situations that a lot of people don't know that we as law enforcement officers go through at home. If they give out Emmy awards for individual episodes of a series, this should certainly win.
Galentine's Day Nightmare (2021)
Definitely a 10. Surprisingly Excellent!
Most Lifetime /LMN movies are a means to pass time, while you're working at home or on your treadmill, when there are no sports, and all of the outstanding cable series are on hiatus until the following season. The average LMN movie will only provide a 3 to 5 rating. (Unless you watch the "Wrong" franchise movies, which top out at a 3 rating)
This movie actually provides some very creditable to excellent acting (the worst actor in the movie is stabbed to death fairly quickly), with a believable plot and even some interesting plot twists. The Tom Berry/Pierre David movies are usually among the best from these channels. This is, by far, their best. Give these actors more work in the LMN troupe. You won't believe how much you'll enjoy this movie. It's actually riveting and you don't want to see it end. Enjoy!
Get on Up (2014)
Fantastic! Certainly, this should be among the best movies of the year.
Unbelievably outstanding performances. Like so many other performers from his era, James Brown provided opportunity and guidance for others to follow his genius. Now, I see where Michael Jackson, Prince and others learned so many of their dance and performance moves. The story tells a lot about the man, and the performances are spot on. Even though the movie is over two hours long, it does not seem very long at all, because we are so interested in the story. You will find yourself not wanting the movie to end, because it is so enthralling.
Chadwick was even better with this performance than he was as Jackie Robinson in "42". I truly hope that the Academy Award 'powers that be' recognize his outstanding performance in this movie and with his portrayal of James Brown. The movie "Ray" was an outstanding and award-winning movie. "Get on up" is even better than "Ray". Whenever this movie comes out on video, it should be placed in your collection. BTW... You're going to wonder how Chadwick Boseman learned to dance so well.
