Detektiv wider Willen (2009 TV Movie)
3/10
so bad it's good
5 January 2016
This movie is easily one of the worst i've ever seen. The story is bad, the acting is worse and even the title is wrong. Sky du Mont's character Dr. Mark Degen is not "Dedektiv wider Willen" (which means, he is a detective although he doesn't want to), he actually does it quite deliberately. The actors sound like bad porn actors, especially Annemarie Düringer as Degen's mother in law. There are really bad running gags, but you laugh all the same because they are that ridiculous. And there are nice and funny mistakes. For example: A man takes a sip of his half empty glass of beer and says: "Ah, the first sip is always the best!" I really recommend the movie, it is really bad but great fun. You are never quite sure, if it is not actually satire.

Brilliant! sad, funny, excellent actors!

I really loved the movie. It is really funny, sometimes in an absurd way. It's really sad. And all the actors are fantastic. Christopher Plummer was the right one to get this Oscar. Ewan McGregor at his best. And Melanie Laurent is beautiful and fantastic, too! Besides, I really like the style of the movie. Decades are sometimes described with some pictures of how people looked, who the president was and other things. A great idea and funny as well. And you learn quite a bit about the difficulties of homosexual life in the 50ties, although it's not one of the main themes of the movie. As you can see, it's obviously one of my favorite movies. I think, it's just one of those films, that make you appreciate life a little more. Watch it!
