Now Add Honey (2015)
Terrible Film! Simply Terrible
We should stop giving films the okay to do unbelievable things and to you the say "It's just a movie" to get away. The whole plot line revolves around the mother of the 16 year old famous Honey trying to lose her innocent look by getting her to become a pop star whose line are all about sex and to have naked photos of her leaked. While the mothers excuse is believable that she wants fame and is on pills, but the rest of the film falls quickly apart. A Local Paparazzi takes window photos of a 16 year old girl and tries to blackmail the family, although in Australia he would've broken dozens of laws and would be facing a big number in prison. The whole husband twist was so foreseen that it added nothing to the story, neither did the romantic interest or the extra detail of the sisters.
Larceny (2017)
Seriously
I have seen short films, which were shot with no budget have better story, acting and set decoration. From the very get go set designs were terrible, only to be surpassed by how terrible most actors were. They used a hall probably from a school as the cafeteria for a prison (Seriously??) The acting was so cringe worthy it all. That I had to give up 32 minutes through the film. And not to even mention that whole use of colour editing to make the film look more specific. This film fails to be a major movie on every level. It is sub par indie feature films and even some short films. Do your self a favor and save 30 minutes of your life and skip this.
Milk Men: The Life and Times of Dairy Farmers (2015)
The Life and Times of Dairy Farmers
Having seen Milk Men, I can only say that what a life it must be to be a dairy farmer. Jan Haaken does a brilliant job exploring the pros and cons of being a milk men, as he follows the life's of four family that are your typical American dairy farmers. From 3rd generation farmers to new innovators trying to change the game and challenge the billion dollar industry. What makes this film the most compelling is its empathetic and honest depiction of the farmers' pride in their heritage and their determined strides to preserve that heritage in the ever-changing world. From the financial to industrial challenges that the industry has placed on family owners, and the pressure that the big players are mounting on the family operated farmers. Jan Haaken manages to simply capture the beauty and the passion that farmers have for their profession and the struggle that some face in the life of being a farmer.
Lost in the Pacific (2016)
Fun and Entertaining summer blockbuster
Lost in the Pacific is nothing more then a summer blockbuster. It has ticked off all of the genres needed to be in that category. Family issues, a little bit of romance, some mystery to make for the thriller fans and action for the every day goer. From a new comer Vincent Zhou, who while may not have many films under his belt, is already leaving his mark in Hollywood with his unique style of directing and his creative writing. The film also has some major A list actors on board with the two main cast being Brandon Routh the former Superman himself and Russell Wong, who is known for Romeo Must die and The Mummy Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. The story is not overly complex, but does try to fit a lot into it. Not only do you have back story with family issues, the mysterious island on which there are muted cats, The futuristic upgraded A380 to A390 a plane that can fly at Earth atmosphere, but doesn't. The CEO whose only motivation is to make money, the co-pilot who wants to prove that she is worthy of her position, and mysterious chef with a dark past. That's just to name a few.
Lost in the Pacific offers some cool CGI, nice acting on the majority of cast and some quick and good looking action scenes. For those who are fans of watching just an entertaining movie, this is defiantly that.
