Sins of Our Mother (2022)
About Vallow? Or about religion?
Why is it that there can be no recognition that people go crazy? This show uses it as an apportunity to take a cheap shot at religion with MILLIONS of members that don't murder their children and go insane. Believing in God is not the x-factor. If the directors had been remotely honest, this would have been paramount. People can go off the deep end and it is not because of a peaceful religion. This is that another lazy series that can't distinguish between the actions of one and the tenets of the whole religion. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints gets very little fair treatment in this show and so many others.
The Jane Doe Murders (2021)
Fascinating and moving
Absolutely thought this was a brilliant show. Very moving. And the science and methods used to solve this was fascinating! I love the focus on family and the need to reunite families. Absolutely lovely show.
Cold Justice (2013)
Excellent
My very favorite true crime show. I end up comparing all shows to this one. Absolutely love Kelly and her team members.
Wish it was easier to find ALL episodes, but it seems like only some seasons and certain episodes are available.
True Conviction (2018)
Better than reviews here say
I actually really like this show! Not sure why the ratings are so low. I love this genre, and I think Anna-Sigga is a great host. Interesting stories, and she is a thorough and compassionate interviewer.
The Jane Doe Murders: Polk County Jane Doe (2021)
The best of true crime
Beautifully done. Absolutely moving. There is always a bigger story, and the victims go far and wide. But God is good and better, and this show just brought me to tears. Yolanda McClary is genuine and warm, but professional and tenacious. Well done. I hope there will be more episodes.
Lorena (2019)
Well done. Just recognize the bias.
Excellent telling of her story. I definitely ache for Lorena. I could have done without the obvious political agenda throughout. However, I could see it and look past it. (Most obvious and obnoxious in the last episode.) I find it very telling that the forced abortion was not fully explored. There is no doubt that such a trauma contributed greatly to her mental state. But acknowledging that on the show would have gone contrary to the political agenda of the activists represented in the show.
