Arrow: Fadeout (2020)
Man I have no words.
This has been coming for everyone but wow. First things first I want to thank Stephen Amell for making the green arrow one of my favourite heroes of the past 8 years. I'm not going to spoil anything but say in the end he does seem to get a happy ending.
Avengers: Endgame (2019)
Wow
This movie blew me away. I don't want to reveal any spoilers but omg. The film made me laugh and cry. Also nearly made me have an heart attack. The performances was so good. It was brilliant. I think I might go watch it another 2 times.
Shazam! (2019)
This film wasn't what I thought it would be.
So SHAZAM! is part of the dceu or dc universe or dc verse or whatever name dc wants to name it. This film is a bout a boy who is chosen from an elderly wizard to save realms as an adult after a power craving villain lets the seven deadly sins out from its rock form. This film has been reviewed as a good superhero film but I think it's a decent superhero film. I mean it doesn't really add anything to the slate of comic book films like the marvel films do. The film is kind of inspired by big as it basically is a boy who to turns into a man. The film has good humour which worked. The acting was good Mark Strong and Zachary Levi worked really good. I have a few issues like the ending. They decided to add superman but it's not Henry Cavill. It's a shot from shoulders below. The film has redeeming moments like the scene where billy is finding out what powers he has. So I would recommend this film but like dont get your hopes up for a big superhero film as it's more of a small scale superhero film.
Captain Marvel (2019)
Decently entertaining
So captain marvel has finally come out and my opinion on this film is just a big meh. The movie is an origin movie/prequel to most of the mcu films. The story is quite predictable as it's meant to show us that skrulls are the good guys and the kree are the bad guys. If you watch films containing krees you would know that they are basically bad guys. The film doesn't have any memorable fight scenes it was quite bland imo. The visual effects were quite good better than what you usually see in the marvel movies. The acting was ok the choice for captain Marvel was ok but In the film she was a little bland like she could've had more enthusiasm. The others were good such as Samuel Jackson, Ben Medelson was good, Jude law was ok. But I hated how they used Coulson and Ronan in this film. They could've used them longer than 2 mins. The credits scenes were good. The first was goooooood and the second was ok. I just realised I've used ok in this review a lot. This shows that for me this movie was ok. It didnt really add anything special to this film apart from the introductions to the skrulls and Carol Danvers.
Aquaman (2018)
Aquaman is a really good film.
This is one of the best dceu films I've seen. But I don't think it's yet to be saved. This film has a really good action scene in the middle of the film with the chase sequence which is a highlight. But there is good cinematography in this aswell which is always a good thing in the dceu apart from suicide squad and justice league. So that's what I have I guess. It's good and you should all watch it.
Creed II (2018)
This film blew all my expectations!!!!!
So here I am typing away at a review of a film which I thought was bloody brilliant. This film had me hooked from the moment it started and I thought that was amazing. The camera shots they used were suitable. They used too much shaky cam which was good but for some it may have been nauseating. The film gave me good roles which had meaning. Michael B Jordan's character had a good arc and so did Dolph Lundgren. The movie had a lot of themes revolving around it such as Hope, Fame, and Honour which I thought was fine. But overall I think everyone should watch this film as it contains a little cameo at the end of the film (if you have watched every single Rocky film including Rocky Balboa.
Daredevil (2015)
Season 3 is probably the best season of a TVshow ever!!
This season blew all my expectations. After watching the first two seasons of daredevil we got a mediocre show called the defenders which connects all of the marvel Netflix shows. The show starts where we left off after the defenders we see Matt Murdock all helpless and broken after a building collapsed on him and Elektra (who is mentioned but doesn't make an appearance). We get to see a darker side of him as he fully imbraces the daredevil and starts shutting people out like Foggy and Karen. We get the return of the Kingpin who is brilliant. We get an introduction to bullseye who was brilliant aswell. The fight scenes live up to the hype. They were entertaining, tense and challenging. It was almost as if you can feel the pain the fight scenes give. This also doesn't fall into that phase where it's slow cause once it starts it starts action packed. I recommend every one watch this as this is what makes a Tvshow entertaining.
Mission: Impossible - Fallout (2018)
The best action movie of the summer or even 2018
This movie exceeded my expectations of the story, the action, the characters and the stunt work. This film is about Ethan Hunt played by Tom Cruise looking for plutonium which he lost in a gunfight in Paris. The plutonium would eventually been used to make a nuclear bomb. So the CIA decides to send August Walker played by Henry Cavill to help him retrieve it. But during the film they have a lot of conflict and a few twists and turns which make it thrilling. The director Christopher Mcquarie makes a thrilling story which from start to finish is brilliant. They also chose a great actors like Henry Cavill playing a villain is actually quite enjoyable and you also see the return of the films previous characters such as Ethan's ex Julia played by Michelle Monaghan and Solomon Lane played by Sean Harris. Now the actions sequences are really really good they are thrilling from the moment the scene starts and end brilliantly. The best actions sequence in this film is when Ethan is chasing August Walker after it's revealed he's a double agent. The amount of jumps from the buildings are tense cause you think he's gonna slip and he does as one the stunts he breaks his ankle and it was shown in the trailer and before in talk shows. The stunt work in this film is brilliant. Every time they do a stunt they top it off with something else later on which is worth it. I would recommend everyone to see this as it's good and watch it in imax so you can see everything bigger like the stunts and action.
Ready Player One (2018)
This film is ok.
This film was ok. I had a few issues with it but I had was overall ok with this movie. This film follows a teenager who tries to find an Easter egg which the creator of the oasis left there before he died. The movie was directed by Steven Spielberg he is in my top 5 directors. So I was expecting something really good but instead I got this. Like I said before I don't mind this movie. But I have a few issues with it. I watched this movie when it came out (tbh I don't why I'm releasing a review 5 months later) but I was kinda hyped. The trailers looked good, I haven't read the book so my opinion may change when I read the book, and it was being directed by Steven Spielberg. The movie has good moments like that car chase sequence in the movie was pretty awesome to watch and the first couple of minutes of the last battle was good. But the movie suffers from character development and that has a big toll on movies based of books cause you see your favourite characters from books being brought to life.
Avengers: Infinity War (2018)
The best film of 2018?
This film has finally come. It took 10 years but it was worth it. Ever since The Avengers fans have been teased with post credits scenes and films leading up to this film. I was impressed on to how they made this film. It's helmed by the Russo brothers who directed the last two captain America films which have been brilliant. The plot follows Thanos as he travels the galaxy looking for the infinity stones and the avengers and guardians of the galaxy have to stop him. They divide into three teams One is on earth and the two are set up in space. This movie isn't film. It's an event and what I mean by an event is that this film is a massive pop culture event that fans of the marvel cinematic universe will enjoy. But if your not then this movie isn't really for you as A. You probably won't know who most of the characters are and B. You will need to sit through 18 movies to understand the characters. The best thing about this movie is the plot and the vfx. The vfx in this film are probably the best this year thanos looks brilliant. But I don't know whether some of the other cgi will hold up like iron mans new armour or mark ruffalo in the hulkbuster. The vfx are better than the black panther ones and they only came out two months apart. So that tells you something. It shows that every penny that went into the vfx was worth it. The movie has one of the best entrances by Thor which was absolutely the best thing. This movie is hardly focused on the heroes it's in fact mostly focused on thanos as he goes through the galaxy searching for the stones. He is the best character in this film josh brolin gives an oscar worthy performance. Also thanos wins by collecting the stones and wiping half the universe. It was so unexpected aswell cause the movie give some you hope thinking they can win. But they don't.
X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014)
Yessss. Finally a good X-men in 11 years.
Wow. Just wow. This film really surprised me as it combines both the old cast with the new cast. The film has a good way of showing us what has happend to the world since X-men the last stand and the wolverine which came out the year before this did. The plot is the world is overrun by robots called the sentinels which were created by Boliver Trask in the 70s but before that he was killed by mystique. The X-men have spread out over the globe and stick together in order to survive. The X-men decide to send wolverine back to the 70s to stop mystique from killing Boliver Trask. But in order to stop her he needs the help of Charles Xavier in the 70s but he isn't in a wheelchair he's walking using drugs but the drugs make his powers go. Wolverine succeeds but also needs the help of magneto but he's in prison cause he accidentally made the bullet curved which killed JFK. But in order to break him out they use quicksilver to break him out. They work together and they manage to stop mystique but also reveal to the whole world that mutants exist. The movie as whole works together so well. But the best thing about it is that the previous films don't exist in the X-men universe as they are now wiped out. So that means no more X-men last stand and no more X-men Origins wolverine
Godzilla (2014)
MEH.
This movie is meh. I have nothing really bad against it apart from little things. The plot is ok. It's an interesting plot as it also lays the foundation for a monster cinematic universe? Godzilla is hardly in this which is quite disappointing, Bryan Cranston is killed off within the first 35mins which kinda made me feel sad as it featured him in nearly every marketing campaign. The colour palette is gorgeous when Godzilla is fighting the other monster thing in the city is quite good. And that's it mostly.
Fahrenheit 451 (2018)
Boring
Wow. Just wow. When I saw the trailer for this I was intrigued. So I went to dig a little deeper (I do this with every film/TV show) and see if it was an original concept or based off a book. It was based off a book and had a film which came out in the 70s I believe. When it came out on in the Uk I watched it. But it was so confusing. I understand movies the first time round or if needed I'll watch it again. But really this was so bland. Michael b Jordan does an ok job of being a cop/firefighter?? I don't know it was just boring. Michael Shannon and Michael b Jordan looked like they didn't want to be in this movie or TV movie. That's it. I'm calling this a TV movie. It got to a point where I just changed it halfway as the story didn't make any sense. The plot is rubbish. They should've just saved their money and made something else. They have stupid things like making people take drugs to forget stuff. Like how stupid is that. I hated this movie overall. I would advise that all of you people wouldn't see it either.
The Fate of the Furious (2017)
This is my personal opinion on this film.
So this film has changed my views on the fast and furious franchise. This film has done an alright job on to why Vin Diesels character (even though his character is originally a villain (see the first fast and furious film) but does that count). Now the action, the action was brilliant especially the hand to hand choreography. But there was on flaw and stupid moment to me. That one flaw was the New York zombie car scene it just didn't appeal to me that much and i thought it was stupid. The best action scene was the jail scene cause you just see Jason Statham character beating the prison guards as he is running away from Dwayne Johnson's character who is chasing him. Now the best thing in the film were the insults their characters made they were pretty funny one of them were something like and i quote " I will kick your teeth so far down your body you will need stick your toothbrush up your ass hole to brush them" that was funny right? That insult came from Dwayne Johnson's character. Overall i gave it a 9 out of 10 as i just needed a little bit more convincing that Vin Diesel's character was a bad guy. But now something comes to mind at the end of the film when they are at their new apartment everyone just forgave his character even the rocks and the nobody team. With the rock his character nearly killed him and with the nobody squad he blew up their base of operations. So yeah that's why i gave it an 9 out of 10.
