The Men Who Stare at Goats (2009)
Funny if you are aware of the facts!
That movie is quite amusing if you know the facts around it being true...
It making a mocky of the U.S. Army's extensive history of actually investigating paranormal methods for combat. When it comes to 'murica they will do anything with the tax payers money for improving their warfare.
There was a guy named Nick Rowe, a Special Forces operator who spent 62 months imprisoned in a Vietnamese POW camp. I believe it was him to leaked the details of what he believed to be mind controlling goats which he witnessed there. That lead US into extreme researching of the topic.
The 'fainting' goat itself is extremely funny which the US government actually researched on as being actually paranormal.
Makes sense seeing a certain type of goat dropping dead by human interaction could be easily confused as something more. However, they where very certain it was paranormal power and therefore wanted it for themselves and apply it to actual people! The US government just believed it was due to people actually staring at the goat for long periods of time at them, focusing paranoid brain activity towards them, which made their heart stop. Really it was just anything that spooked them. Due to an congenital (present from birth) medical condition known as myotonia congenita or Thomsen's disease, certain goat's muscles tense up when the animal is startled and don't immediately relax. Younger ones are more affected and it can even stop their heart for a moment - which can label them as pronouced dead, then revived moments later.
Paycheck (2003)
Ahh my next paycheck!
It's always a great feeling when the next paycheck arrives... even better when you can work for months, even years on end, then simply have all that wiped from your mind! Living in the highlights and a carefree life, not worrying over the job you do. Until it comes back to you. So you work at reverse engineering other people's products for another company to rip off for them, and they want to keep it private so wipe your entire mind of actually doing it. How are you to actually know what happened during that time. Specially if just a few weeks before your job finished and they performed the wipe, you had decided to give up your millions of dollars in your next paycheck. Why?
The Sixth Sense (1999)
Must watch!
A great masterpiece of a movie with good twist! Not a boring moment, great paced, and quality acting. If you haven't already seen this movie, then stop reading this and watch it now. You won't be disappointed! 'You ever feel the prickly things on the back of your neck? And the tiny hairs on your arm, you know when they stand up? That's them. When they get mad... it gets cold.' This movie isn't a thriller in that sense, rather more a ghost story but done right. It will still have a creepy vibe, and not seem at all far fetch - made even more so by the young 9 year old boy, Cole (Haley Joel Osment), getting treated by a psychologist due to being able to glimpse into the hidden dimensions of the lost and mostly angry dead people.
Escape from Tomorrow (2013)
I want back my wasted hours!
Maybe I just didn't understand the movie, the direction it's going it, to young to appreciate why it's in black and white, etc - But this has got to be the worst movie I've seen! It's random... completely random imagination land? The storyline is non-existence and jumps all over the place. Father lost job and takes family on vacation to Disney, son hates his guts, his wife ignores his needs, so he goes chasing a couple of chicks. Kills a robot who tries to help him. Gets Cat-Flu and dies. Meanwhile a pedo witch (who use to be a princess) wants to play pretend with the daughter. Disney staff clean up all the mess and the next family moves in, the end! There you go... saved you wasting your time on this utter rubbish!
