ER: On the Beach (2002)
Farewell to a great human being
Mark Greene embodied a doctor and man whose flaws and strengths made him a complete, well-rounded human being. A role model to his peers and students, a father, son and husband who never gave up trying. This has been a heartbreaking episode which has nonetheless given us the closure we needed to make peace with Mark's journey. I'm Hawaii he gets to say goodbye to his daughters and wife, and to impart to his teenage daughter a most valuable lesson: "Be generous. With your time, love."
I feel that ER has come to an end after this episode and this invariably shows me the importance of Mark Greene.
Banshee (2013)
Fantasy, not crime
Being a fan of crime shows like Ozark, Better Call Saul, The Killing, Dexter, etc, I got excited about this show after seeing what other viewers rated it. I found it unrealistic, pretentious and a failed attempt at trying to do too much with little regard for people's basic knowledge and expectations of this genre. A guy that gets out of prison and acts like a badass superhero dodging bullets and a crashing bus in the center of Manhattan; a plot that rapidly evolves with little attention given to detail; a narrative arc that mixes mindless action scenes with a romantic past.
I watched three episodes and couldn't take it anymore. It is poorly written and directed and if you liked any of shows I mentioned above, you should avoid this.
