I love the cast, the chemistry between characters and the timeline jumps. Although, they should make a bigger effort in the eighties era. The scenario seems a little bit cartoonish to me. It's also very obvious the characters are not in their twenties. The timing in the music is very well done in my opinion but maybe I just love hearing these songs. However, my main problem with the series is the cliché aspect. Nerdy girl with glasses??? I'm so fed up watching beautiful people as ugly just because they're dorky and awkward. Having a traditional family home doesn't equal happiness by the way. It's ok to be childless and happy. Living in a luxury apartment to show the misery of loneliness is just so overused. Anyway, I read the book and I know the cliché aspects are there so I understand they are following that narrative. On the other hand, I celebrate the slightly changes the show made from the book. Having Kate going throughout divorce and making Sean more important than just Kate's brother. I even liked not having Kate's twin boys on the screen. There was no point bringing them up unless it's for an interesting plot like Sean's storyline addition. Overall, it's a enjoyable show but nothing out of ordinary.

If you are going to make a documentary, at least pretend to make it objectively. It does not provide anything to the audience, and I'm not talking about answers, just facts to make you analyse the whole thing. We already know the whole 'she said, he said, I saw, they heard' drama. All chapters lack of structure, credibility and narrative. Just like the other documentary about the 43 students (the one of the turtle), it doesn't add anything interesting to the case. There is only one line where somebody blames Salinas and that's it. Nothing more. Disappointing and a waste of time.
