An error has ocurred. Please try again- 10 doesn't mean "flawless", just means "I really really love this" (The Falls Trilogy is an example).
- If it's here, I give it at least 5/10.
- Also I can really like something but (in my opinion) there were big flaws so the rating becomes lower (Alex Strangelove is an example).
This list isn't done yet and I don't think it ever will be. I wouldn't be surprised if it reaches 500 titles.
Reviews
Oasis (2017)
Inconsistent (most 10s are definetely bots)
I don't mind "bad acting" when the film has a good concept overall. When I look beyond the low budget and understand the potential. Unfortunately this was not the case. I finished it cause I wanted to see how it would go. It didn't really end, though??
A lot of this film made no sense to me: Oliver's wife and the 20 USD plot; The 1 USD drug out of nowhere; Oliver always obeying and forgiving Andrew for treating him badly; Andrew takes off his underwear, Oliver sniffs it IN FRONT OF ANDREW and that's a totally normal thing that happens?? And right after that, Andrew draws a line at Oliver seeing him in the shower??
I thought it was a "mutual pining" thing with some kinky undertones. And then Oliver confesses and Andrew clearly knew it. So yeah, okay, Oliver has accepted himself and Andrew hasn't. But then he kisses Oliver and says he needs a drink after that? Acting like the kiss was like a favour? And Andrew's obviously hurt and also thankful??
Then comes the best part of the film, the dancing while high. Followed by the confusing ending where Andrew gets a demanding call from his wife Susan (who we don't hear) then kills Oliver. But wait! It seems he was only imagining it. Then he confesses his love and kisses him. But wait again! We then hear what Susan said. She knows about them and wants it to be over, she has to be his "one and only", cause what will their families think? We hear the complete phone call while we look at a creepy close-up of Andrew's face. The end.
What actually happened? Did Andrew kill Oliver? Did he kiss him? Or did he imagine both and did nothing?
Did Susan really want Oliver dead or did she just want Andrew to say nothing would ever happen? Or maybe she wanted him to "try it out" and then end it?
This could have been good. Most scenes added nothing (Oliver's wife, his job seeking, the Panamá scenery). 1 hour was definitely not enough.
I wasn't expecting the strangling, so that's the reason I felt like I needed to leave this review. Took me about 30 minutes to write it cause I had a lot to think about.
3 in a Bed (2014)
Should be at least an 8
It's a low-budget film, why do you people have to be so harsh?
We can't rate and review these kind of films the same way we rate Hollywood blockbusters.
Changing a few things here and there, this would definitely be a 10.
And they get together in the end so serious complaints here ;)
The only thing that truly bothered me was the "Brazilian" flatmate. Bad characterization, lines, accent. No-no for me.
Shameless: Father Frank, Full of Grace (2021)
You people with the negative reviews are just wrong
I don't know why you were expecting a fairy tale happy ending. This is Shameless!!! Times are tough, but they have each other.
Also, Emmy left. Leave her be.
Venom (2018)
Totally underrated
I remember people bashing this film when it came out. I believed them and didn't watch it.
But then one day I was like, you know what? I'll watch it. And I did. And I didn't understand the bad reviews???? It's amazing.
Also, Tom Hardy GETS IT. HE TOTALLY GETS IT. He plays Eddie 100% right.
10/10 good action and good fun
You people have to learn to stop being so critical
Los fuertes (2019)
Amazing
This was the one of most passionate films I've ever seen. I loved it.
Complete Strangers (2020)
I just kept watching and honestly I don't regret it
I don't really know why I decided to watch this film even though I knew the rating was very low. But anyway, I just finished it and felt an obligation to review it.
For the entire movie I just kept questioning everyone's motivation.
- Why is Robert letting Hugo treat him like this?
- Why isn't Kate doing more to help?
- Why doesn't Frank care?
- Why is Christian so desperate to get back together?
I had multiple reasons to just give up watching. The abuse and manipulation were bothering me so much. But what kept me from doing it was sheer curiosity: WHAT IS GOING ON HERE??
And then the last minute of the film OH THAT CHANGES THINGS (Almost) everything made sense. That last minute was like a perfect cherry on top of a very messy cake.
This could have been a very good film. I agree with other reviews, Pau Masó is not a good actor. Some help with the script would've been nice as well. No complaints about the directing, though.
John Wick: Chapter 2 (2017)
Even better than I expected
The first one was already amazing. I KNEW it would be a very good movie, but I really didn't expect that it would be SO SPECTACULAR! I'm one of those people who laugh during good action scenes. And I laughed very hard, very often.
If you liked John Wick, you're going to love Chapter Two. If you didn't like it, well, I ask you to watch it again then watch Chapter Two. Either way, you're not going to regret it.
I really hope there's a third film. Come on, that ending is asking for John Wick: Against the World!
