Fire Island (2022)
Whoever wrote this needs to read Pride and Prejudice again
The script has a few funny bits here and there but the characters are just way too irritating with no real personality. And the cast has no chemistry that makes you feel any friendship or romance between them.
The Boys in the Band (2020)
Atrociously acted
The acting was just atrocious with no subtlety whatsoever. Had to stop watching midway and watched the 1970s version instead. Its amazing how the same exact lines can be interpreted by two different sets of actors. Watch the orginal instead. You can feel the pathos in each line. This version is just a ham fest.
October (2018)
Beautiful film free of melodrama
It's so good to finally watch a Bollywood film that is free of melodrama and yet not short of drama that life has to offer. From being unhappy at work to unconditional love to a parent dealing with a tragedy, there are so many things that the film touches upon without providing any kind of resolutions. Great work by Juhi and Soorjit and a very brave brave move by Varun.
Gunday (2014)
Shameful
Shame on a production house like Yashraj to not do any kind of fact check and trying to use history on the birth of Bangladesh to give some kind of weight to a piece of crap film. Instead of spending so much in marketing such s**t, how about hiring some educated people to write scripts or just as a consultant!
The film, itself, doesn't deserve any kind of review apart from being a complete s**tfest! Not much was expected from the director of 'Mere Brother Ki Dulhan' but at least that wasn't offensive to. But then again, this comes from the production house that produced Dhoom 3 so it wasn't that shocking.
A complete ignominy to the legacy of Yash Chopra.
