Babylon (2022)
paradoxically, even if is full of action I had my naps
Even I have no idea how to start... ok, the director, imagine a guy that loves from the bottom of his hearth everything about Hollywood yet he has to write a script which happens that it has to hate Hollywood. Maybe he said NO yet the production promised him best trending actors, funds and so on. Now this guy what he had to do, to refuse such opportunity? One more thing, he has no idea about the 1920's times, particularly about LA, Hollywood. He needs something shocking, stunning, amazing yet decadent most important, scabby, disgusting, horrific. Ah, and very important, politically correct... ha ha ha, 1920's politically correct :) - bitter smile. He used raw stuff like people engulfed in feces, golden showers, nudity and explicit sexual scenes, killed/dead people everywhere, some WW kisses... like a receipt. Ah, and chaos which due to his low IQ he mistook chaos for incoherence... lame. Even if I'd like to give spoilers I couldn't mostly because I don't remember a thing of what happened on the screen three unbelievably long long hours - so please don't do the effort to go to a cinema, to spend the ticket money and most important to waste your precious time, this movie is a 100% click bait, yet if you are so stubborn please don't invite your partner, you'd feel like going to a restaurant and having the surprise to have as luxuriant meal awfully rotten food.
Now about actors, yes, Margot Robbie, simply she was forced to play like a piece of wood, stall and stupid - most probably this is going to be an ugly stamp, impossible to erase on her career. Brad Pitt you ask? He wasn't there, it is clear he didn't want to be part of this movie, yet he didn't care, he's not anymore craving about big roles.
As a conclusion, a message for Damien Chazelle - my friend, there is already a TARANTINO and surprising for you, I know, he did already - Once Upon a Time in Hollywood - you didn't know that, I'm 100% sure, yes, it is a great movie, an actual movie, you have to watch it as soon s possible, it is an amazing one!
What Is a Woman? (2022)
A good start
The documentary itself is not that insightful as many in comments claim, even more the last minute of it is quite disappointing. The western world is struggling with freedom which sometimes can be a burden, we have to accept that periodically monsters are born, sometimes by my experience I think that is even harder to live in freedom than in an authoritarian country, whether is based on religion or ideology. There will be victims? Every time! How do we make so the number of victims to be smaller? Watching this documentary is a method.
Obi-Wan Kenobi (2022)
do you remember luke skywalker from the disney trilogy? kenobi is worse
Third episode and I already give up... it is simply unwatchable, Same experience as for. Boba Fett. I feel for actors because they are trying... a lot, but the plot is simply inept, I've seen.star wars fan films way more consistent.
The Last Duel (2021)
Ridley Scott comes with gems
I'm not going to spoil anything yet you have to prepare for a new experience "Kingdom of Heaven" and more - the movie is growing minute by minute telling the whole story so at the end we get it right, according with your own eyes and mind, this movie is very very personal, leaving the theater simply you don't feel the need to share your thoughts at all - you're simply happy you've learned from yourthroughlyself a good lesson.
Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021)
what happend with the comedy?
You might think that if the first was quite funny and entertaining the second has to be at least at the same level - unfortunately no, this time it didn't get on my face even a smile... I left the theater with the thought that maybe once at home I'm going to find on netflix something way better.
Invasion (2021)
It doesn't worth your time, I bet you'll find better in no time
Very cliche - made on fast-forward mode, the plot doesn't make any sense, lots of childish final-cut mistakes (for instance a scene which is clear that is happening in night from a camera of three it looks like being day). Good actors yet what's the point... bad movie man, really really bad.
ARQ (2016)
it's a good one
Watch it - you'll not regret the spent 90 minute.
Good script, good directing, good actors - subject is not that original but this doesn't matter as long as the movie as a whole is good.
Foundation (2021)
I'm an Asimov's universe FAN
Don't read reviews. In this very particular case a lot of people who have read all the Asimov's books are populating this panel with reviews written under the pressure of their own expectations... I myself almost was mislead by them just before to watch the first episode. Of course, the film is not going along to the book, a movie will never be a book, yet I see the original story growing from within - acting is great, CGI is above decent, the story is well crafted and the additions to the screenplay relative to the book are coherent, by my humble opinion is going to be one of the best film event of the year.
Tenet (2020)
this is the end of nolan's career???
Inception - good story, good visuals, decent movie, then came Interstellar - beautiful story, stunning visuals, great movie. Now we have Tenet, a palindrome title which looks like an uneasy clickbait... Then you buy a ticket because "a Nolan movie", then you find yourself in the movie theater and feel stupid! You've seen before Inception, then you've seen Interstellar so you have EXPECTATIONS. No one told you that most probably this movie was made by a secret union between Marvel and Disney. Then you come home and read comments like "you have to rewatch it"!!! Did you read that story when in the end a kid yell "the king is naked"? That is the case, we are talking here about a B movie where they spent an A+++ budget. That's all, don't feel guilty you didn't understand all the mambo-jambo scientific like stuff they claim as legit, they have to feel guilty because they weren't able to put it together in a coherent plot-fabric.
Person of Interest: If-Then-Else (2015)
pure genuine... disappointment - spoiler alert
Spoiler alert! Lame movie! I'm a big fan of this series... better said, I was, to be more specific today I've got a bucket full of ice thrown over my brains... as always I was impatient for a new episode, every week i was stunned by new ideas, overcomes, twists, always amazed... always but today, today I was disappointed from the very first 5 minutes till the end... dull, predictable, all the characters became numb, it seemed like the director was on the hall for a coffee all the time they have recorded for this episode, it was totally other style, a bit comedy "a la" home alone plus family guy with accents of bob's burgers and batman... people moving around, bullets, devilish smiles (yeaw), a very "smart" parallel with chess (cheesy!!!) and many other goods and when I have been sure there "couldn't be worse", take a sit fast, they came with the peak transforming both gals in horny lesbian couple feeling the most physically attraction in the middle of a mist of bullets... they fired the director? or the writers? fight between actors and the screenwriter? the producer has a new lover who came with new "ideas"? we'll see in the next episode...
