Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022)
I am disappointed
Being a huge fan of the first movie and highly anticipating this sequel I am left disappointed. I might be in the minorty here and thats okay but I feel the movie was unfocused and a convoluted mess. I consider this a cash grab entry for MCU and will definitely not be seeing the next one at the cinema. The effects are great as it should be but the acting was uninspired especially by the leads. This for me sits next to Thor Ragnarok as the worst entries in the MCU. Marvel has lost is magic and the films are too focused on spectacle instead of story and also unnecessarily injecting wokeness in the latest entries that is not required or asked for by the key demografic of this genre. See it or dont, either way will not impact you very much, I promise.
M.O.M.: Mothers of Monsters (2020)
Well worth the watch found footage entry
As a new parent I can empathize with other parents who have "difficult" children and are torn between their concern and inability to change their children's behaviour and their instinctive love for them. This film competently plays with this idea to extreme ends and the film stayed long with me after the credits rolled. The acting was very good from both leads and the film kept my attention and curiosity of how it would end until the inevitable violent conclusion which these films are known for. Not a lot of found footage movies can do that these days and being an avid found footage style movie fan I can confidently say it's above average and well worth watching until the end.
