Brown and Friends (2022)
Charming
Such a lovely, charming show with adorable characters. Really nice to watch with kids. Perfect family shoe.nothing too dangerous or graphic for younger characters yet very entertaining for adults. The animation is simplistic yet fun gives an insight into the lives of cartoon characters in South Korea. So much fi. And issues addressed that are relevant. I could honestly not with for more in a cartoon to watch with my children than what 'Brown and Friends'offers. Superb family entertainment with that works on so many levels. I cannot recommend'Brown and Friends' enough. Go and eat it now! Please!
American Horror Stories: Necro (2022)
Drivel
If a teenage magazine met American Horror Story this would be the poor, and disappointing result. A very slow story line with no real twists or surprises, and very two dimensional characters. The main horror 'event' wasnt filmed in a disturbing way and it was far too tame by fat. Main character lacks depth and love interests and both very off putting. Utterly ridiculous, not scary or atmospheric just a rather long peice of boring nonsense. The worst episode by far of both seasons. Please bring back the spooky and atmospheric stuff, this feels like a GCSE. Media peice by a fifteen year old. Do better!
Brand New Cherry Flavor (2021)
Wow!
Wow indeed, I love stuff like this that breaks free from the mundane. A noir inspired Hollywood set horror that doesn't follow any rules. I love the use of colour and comedy. Really a fabulous piece of TV. Nothing to compare it too.
Meet Marry Murder: Infante (2020)
Infuriating episode
I found this very difficult to watch as someone who has experienced coercive control.
A women who is a victim of domestic abuse finally, after 27years, gains the courage to leave her husband. As it is all happening, she gains a lover and tries to start a new life. However, the abusive husband thinks she doesn't deserve a free start and shoots her in the head.
Horrific domestic abuse happens. Unfortunately.
However, what really infuriated me is the son's opinion. Fair enough he has lived through hell and o wish him nothing but healing. But his judgement for his mother is disgusting.
Apparently his parents were both to blame. No!!! She was a victim who tried to escape and was shot in the head for it!!! Just no!! This opinion of violence is deserved through infidelity is a very dangerous message to be preaching. His father was an abuser. I'm sorry but there is only one culprit in this nasty story.
As televised media I think there should be a responsibility in this day and age to not victim blame. In simpler terms, it's not okay to murder your wife just because she is sick of your nonsense and needs to leave you.
Peacock (2022)
Short review
Basically, not funny. Not one smile or chuckle through the whole thing. Really wanted to like it but just unfunny. Left me wondering why I had bothered.
Cat Burglar (2022)
Too Glitchy
Often came up with the question but no answer options which made it difficult and repetitious. Liked the premise but didn't work well in practice. Also don't really like the return to these violent dated style of cartoons.
Feria: La luz más oscura (2022)
Enjoyable Spanish horror
I watched this in English dub and though it was much better than other dubbed shows I've watched. I love this genre and thought this was an enjoyable horror show. May not have had the largest budget but still very enjoyable and worth a look in my humble opinion.
The Magicians (2015)
Some of the best characters in sci-fi.
I took a season to get attached to this show, then I absolutely loved it! Fabulous dialogue, very complex characters that overtake the story. Basically Elliot and Margo could be doing their laundry for an episode and I'd still watch it. Really, really good. I'm gutted it's ended.
Three Girls (2017)
Disturbing, but worth it.
This is perhaps the most harrowing show I have ever watched. I'm fact, I could only manage it in twenty minute segments. However, it is absolutely incredible. The story it tells, the acting is unbelievable, the questions it raises, it really is a fabulous piece of television. Well done to everyone involved in the making of this.
Kevin Can F**k Himself (2021)
Some good, some bad
I love the concept of this and the acting is superb (especially the two female leads). However the comedy bits which were obviously meant to be frustrating were perhaps so good they really forked me off. It made for some disgruntled viewing. Perhaps that's the point. However it wasn't particularly enjoyable viewing.
Absurd Planet (2020)
Love this show!
My children were left unimpressed by lots of serious nature shows, but this silly and sometimes gross show ticked all the boxes! They loved the fun and silly voice over, and binged watched the series only to watch it again once finished. Fun, crazy and easy to watch for parents and kids alike.
Van Helsing (2016)
Dull
Let me start by saying I blooming love vampire shows. I'm addicted. I've watched them all. Sadly I think this is one of the worst.
Vampires, generally speaking as characters, can be quite charismatic. There is no charisma or charm in this show. The vampires are more like soulless zombies. Mix this with the post apocalyptic sense of doom and it all seems quite depressing. There's no heartening love stories or friendships, no vampire style or glamour, just some boring dull characters who keep turning into vampires and back, and inexplicably meeting up despite the vastness of America.
To sum up, silly, boring dull. I am very disappointed.
Ghost Wars (2017)
Fun horror
I really enjoyed this show. Dark horror that occasionally made me laugh. Very sad they didn't make a second season.
October Faction (2020)
Loved it!
I'm so surprised with the bad reviews...8 found this riveting and really well made. I've seen much worse dramas in the genre be renewed, I'm very disappointed this has been cancelled. I thought it was beautifully filmed, liked the characters, plenty of twists and was always left wanting more. Really sad it's finished.
Midnight, Texas (2017)
Not the book, but just as good!
I just admit I enjoyed the books so was excited to watch the series. Although it's very different, I still found it thoroughly enjoyable. One of the best supernatural shows that I have watched recently. Looking forward to season two.
