Les Chambres rouges (2023)
That was one emotional rollercoaster
Fantastic piece of art. Acting was just wonderful. Main protagonist ist one hell of an actress. Story is really disturbing and the end is just.... Wow. For me, this was one great cinema. For the most of the part you are just left wondering, why she does what she does, unti the very end. 10 is not enough for this one
SPOILERS:
For me the main protagonist is one of the users of these sorts of movies and also she is obsessed with the killer so much that she is ready to make a scene and ruin her career just for the look of the murderer she fantazies about. He is definitelly the killer. She imagines herself in the role of his victims. She is totally mental but on the other hand, she knows deep down, that what he does (and she enjoys), is just evil and it needs to be stopped. Thats why she leaves the USB with the video for the mother.
Straight Up (2019)
Soul toucher
I dont write reviews a lot. But few of the gay-themed movies just touched my soul. This was one of them. Its more than just the movie. It speaks to audience through real and not-at-all-perfect life of the main characters, their sexuality, intimacy and love which doesnt need to be physical, but it has to be at least true and caring.
I liked the camerawork, I liked the soundtrack, I liked the acting, dialogues, scenery of L.A. and the way I got touched by it.
Best soul toucher I have had for the last few months.
Matthias et Maxime (2019)
I just loved it
I saw this piece at the queer film festival Mezipatra in Brno (Czech republic) and I liked it a lot. Camerawork is splendid, actors feel authentic and the soundtrack was perfect for the tone of the movie 10/10
Death Note (2017)
Meh
I am very disappointed with this. OK, I assume you just cant force whole manga/series into 100 minutes but I was expecting something way better.
Light supposed to be egocentric highly intelligent and emotionless sociopath. This is just mediocre kid with issues.
L supposed to be logic machine on sugar and we got crazy guy who eventually *SPOILER ALERT* becomes Kira himself... In a way.
Mia supposed to be really into Light and not just a cunning hoe.
I understand, they came with different story, but man! That was not good idea to borrow characters and totally destroy them. Netflix should made series out of this with caring slow pacing and great intelligent story behind it. We got this mediocre terrible movie instead. But Dafoe as Ryuk - 10/10
Looper (2012)
the toddler will create the time machine
I really enjoyed the movie and i don't understand why is there so much haters. This movie is about time traveling and (logically) still be questions like "and what will happens if his future self..." I think most of haters didn't realize toddler is the future developer of time machine, to save his mother.
Very good directed and very enjoyable performances of all main protagonist, like Gordon-Levitt, Willis or Blunt, but especially, the toddler, because - in my opinion - he stole the movie.
So, I hope you will enjoy this movie like I do and don't bother with time travel debates, you are not Stephen Hawking or anybody with such intelligence, to be even close to time traveling concept.
