The Man (2019)
Management training
This should be included in management training, with digital flags posted where the manager messed up. A big red one should be posted on the last frame, since money is really the only thing that really gets through to management.
Having said that, here in the US, Tom would have been fired and possibly arrested for using an unauthorized recording device at work and not letting his tormentor know that she was being recorded. That would have been a much less satisfying ending.
I also had trouble sitting through this but was glad I did. I thought the acting was good -- too good in some cases. It will be hard to watch the actors who played the bullies in future films. They were really horrible!
No Easy Days (2018)
Bad acting? Try bad script!
I'm no military expert, but would a Seal have all those visible tattoos, let alone go to a military meeting in dress blues unshaven? I usually enjoy Canadian shows because they don't seem to take their conspiracies too seriously, their bad guys aren't as scary, and their violence isn't gratuitous. On those 3 counts, this one looked like American junk.
ReGenesis (2004)
I love Canadian shows
I always like seeing shows written from another country's point of view, but I particularly like Canadian ones. They seem to be able to indulge in conspiracy theories on film without actually running around shooting or blowing things up in real life. Such admirable constraint!
It's been a few decades since I worked in a research lab, and I only worked briefly in a lab that was doing molecular biology, where I only ran ELISAs, so I don't know how technically accurate the show was, but the story lines were plausible enough to enjoy. They got me thinking and looking things up again.
It was also good to see American politics, particularly right after 9/11, from another point of view.
I liked all the actors, although I wish they hadn't kept losing virologists. I particularly liked Conrad Pla, who I'd never seen before.
