King Gary: The Wedding - Part 2 (2021)
An absolutely Beautiful Piece of Comedy with a heart
This is a beautiful ending to the second series and is worthy of any, of all the Sitcoms that came before it.
You know that this is written by people who come from this strata of society and can see both sides. Both the rawness and the love.
Full of beautifully drawn characters which contain enough truth for you to recognise their traits in someone you know.
Anyone, absolutely anyone that compares this un-favourably to Only Fools and Horses hasn't got a clue how good comedy works. This works and is some of the best Comedy that these Isles have produced for a while.
That's not to denigrate the genius of Only Fools and Horses, but this is a modern classic as worthy as the diamond in John Sullivan's work.
This full of emotion and takes the viewers on an emotional journey from disaster to triumph.
If there's any justice this will get another series... a whole tranche of series.
It's a gem.
Berserk (1967)
Insanely bad
This is, quite frankly, insanely bad.
So bad in fact that it's funny. The plot, such as there is, doesn't really make much sense... so little sense in fact that when it started, I had to double check that I wasn't half way through the film.
There's no attempt at bulding a story, it just chucks you in the deep end without so much as a float to help you.
It also suffers from the Bram Stoker's Dracula method of story telling... (The book, not the film). As in... Intrigue... intrigue... intrigue... then it's all over in seconds with pretty much no rational explanation.
It's almost like the writers of this got so bored that they thought... oh sod it... just end it now.
Treason (2022)
No problem with the fantasy, serious problem with the script
I've no problem with the fantasy elements of this, I could even forgive the oh too convenient plot setups but what I can't forgive is the lack of exposition and proper back story building.
I've seen scripts (not produced) which have erred on the side of.too much exposition... I.e.
Man walks up to shop,
Man opens door of shop,
Man walks into shop,
Man looks around shop,
Man looks at cabinet... etc. Etc.
But I never expected to see a script that was along the lines of.
Man walks up to shop... next scene (with no explanation of what he was doing or why he was doing this)
I've seen short 15 minute films with more back story and exposition.
This, a 5 part series, has been written and produced as if the total filming time were about 10 minutes.
Compare this to the beautiful slowness and exposition of the original Tinker, Tailor, Soldier Spy and this has all of the charm and sophistication of a roughly drawn comic.
If they'd just taken the time they had to put more exposition and properly paced this, then it would have been an acceptable thriller, as it is, it's too jarring and primitive.

Simply Beautiful
Words cannot express how beautiful this film is, both in visuals and in content.
I watched it, stupidly expecting a live action film, but what I got... Well, it's difficult to describe.
The animation is the best I've ever seen, I have no idea how they did it, but so often you have to remind yourself that it's not real despite the fact that the art work is stylised.
Each shot contains details that only add to the story, and each shot is like a work of art.
This is a beautiful film, watch it as soon as you possibly can.
