The Predator (2018)
Predator, but not as we know it Jim!
I love all the Predator movies, and have watched them time and time again, massive fan and by far my favourite alien of all time. However this is a different type of movie and once I got my head round it I actually really enjoyed it, it's that bad it's good, sort of like a Deadpool Predator with loads of action an funny lines. I can see how it might annoy some hardcore SiFi nerds but they need to chill and watch this for what it is. My advice, go and see but get your head round this isn't a follow on from the originals and treat as a separate entity. Open mind is the key to enjoyment.
Warm Bodies (2013)
Great Film
To be honest I wasn't expecting much from this film given how the storyline read on the cover, I didn't really believe it would be my my kind of thing, but being a fan of zombie movies in general I thought I would give it a go. It turned out to be a great movie, a great watch and very enjoyable from start to finish, not what I expected from zombie but still great. It was very funny in places with an odd and very dark humour, also scary and quite jumpy from time to time, and it has to be said the strangest storyline ever. I love the way it gave an alternative view on zombies, giving them personalty. The character R was played extremely well by Nicholas Hoult, you just love him from the start and root for him until the end, brain munching and all! Highly recommended, and a must see!
A Belfast Story (2013)
Worst film in history?
This film is definitely a candidate for the worst film ever made. Complete and utter drivel, terrible acting, even worse staging, all coupled with a questionable storyline. Just one example of how bad it is, there was one seen where a massive roadside bomb has exploded in a residential street killing the occupants of a car. In the next seen the camera pans down the street as Meaney looks into the burnt out car, no damage in the street what so ever, not even a broken window! I'm sure after seeing the finished product Colm Meaney, the only half decent actor in the film, wishes someone would beam him up! Being from Northern Ireland I'm ashamed at the thought of people in other counties watching this and associating this garbage with my country. Needless to say if you haven't seen it don't waste an hour and a half of your life watching it.
