Oh man! What a fantastic "Spidey" movie. I loved the way it played with Gwen - Miles stories by giving that delicate touch and the entire multiverse concept is further enhanced by out of the world animation, astonishingly gorgeous frame worthy shots throughout. It takes time to hit the strong beats but when it does man, there is no going back. The story unravelling part in the final hour is what made this one a finest movie. That entire third act, score and the visually aesthetic animation together blended so well and churned out one of the greatest Spidey movies. It literally upped the game from the first part in every sense and exceeded the expectations. Those unexpected little sweet surprises made my heart melt, beautifully baked in it the story. Brilliant set up for the third part and can't wait to witness the epic again on the big screen. Do yourself a favour and WATCH IT.
Went in expecting Seijun Suzuki's usual Noir/crime, but this one exceeded my expectations. Seijun's visually artistic sense got a perfect story to weave and he blended them so perfectly with his gritty narrative style which in turn compelled me to glued to it till the end. The color choices in this movies makes every scene visually appealing and the camerawork, editing , creative shots further aided the flow. Despite violence being brutal, the way they shot and executed those episodes satiated my hunger. The twisty narrative keeps the flow intact and goes on a pretty solid pace throughout. Opening the movie in B&W and moving it to the color in next second shows Seijun's crazy style, I loved it. Jo Shishido is the show stealer and rest of the gave ample support. The beauty of this movie is , with every passing minute, it made me appreciate it more and by the end of the movie, became one of my favorite movies ever in this genre. It may not be an out of the box idea, but the stylistic and creative choices makes this one an entertainingly engaging yet impactful movie from 60's.
The main reason to watch this movie is Samara Weaving and I'm glad that I Picked it, as it did entertained me. Richard Wong's tale is simple, delightful, charming rom com. We have seen similar tropes before, but both Samara and Eugenio Derbez's moments held me intact, I loved their scenes. It is 2 hrs long and I really wished that they stuffed more of Samara and Eugenio scenes , because, there is this underlying spark, charm and light hearted vibe which enticed me. Eugenio's funny ,innocent/good person act is a treat, his facial expressions alone gives us everything. Samara is beautiful and she did put up a good act, keep doing the work girl. I was hoping something else towards the end to satiate my hunger for love, but it took other direction. Keeping the rom com aside, the mother - son arc and the Korean- Mexican blend put a smile on my face. I loved the mother character, such an amicable act. Over all, a sweet , heartwarming, fun rom com. I wanted to give this one 6 , as it is really decent to good one, but the 6 rating may lower over all rating, so decided to give it 7 to give it a push. You won't regret, definitely a sweet watch.
