How I Met Your Father: Pathetic Deirdre (2023)
Time To Call it a Day
I've given this show enough time now and can confidently say I'm going to call it a day and not watch any more. The show is not funny. The characters are just generally awful people. The more serious/dramatic stuff is ok but the jokes are just not good at all.
I was hoping to stick around to see Barney but I just can't force myself through any more.
The characters from HIMYM were far from being perfect people but they were funny and charming enough to make it work and they usually learned some sort of lesson eventually. Sophie and Valentina were bullies in this episode and the moral of the episod was 'they were right, actually.' Unbelievable.
It's had some decent moments through the series but I've had enough now. Also, Ellen is one of the worst characters I've seen in any show, ever.
The Kissing Booth 2 (2020)
Every character is awful
Every character is an insufferable A**hole. If you actually connect with any of these characters, I feel sorry for you.
Every single person in this film is a complete idiot. Don't waste your time.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: Spacetime (2016)
Not a fan
I'll be honest, I really don't like this sort of concept.
Whenever a character can see the future, things get messy for me. Characters then start acting totally differently, ultimately leading to the vision coming true.
I personally much prefer the Dr Strange concept from Infinity War where there are millions of different possible futures, which can only be determined by billions of different, random actions. Also, "if I tell you what happens, it won't happen" clearly doesn't apply here.
The episode was well made and everything, I just hate the idea of a single fixed future, where everything is inevitable and can't be changed. It doesn't make sense. For instance, the events of this episode only happened BECAUSE Daisy saw the future. If she never had the vision, none of it would have even happened, right?
This is why I was glad when they killed Rayna. Having characters that can see the future just complicates matters in my opinion and it made for a frustrating episode here!
Game of Thrones: The Bells (2019)
Infuriating
The writers knew where they wanted to get to but had absolutely no idea HOW to get there.
Mad Queen Dany is potentially a really goos storyline, they just forgot to actually build up to it. Sure, there were the odd clues here and there that she was becomming more ruthless but not enough to suggest she would murder thousands of innocents.
Also, why did her army start randomly killing everyone?
Didn't care for Varys' death. Thought he was supposed to be clever?
Jaime going back to Cersei, again, could have worked but they forgot to write any logical or meaningful dialogue to get him there.
Visually, the episode was great. Cleganebowl was pretty cool for what it was.
The show is dead now, it's quite painful to see how the writers have ruined it.
In my opinion, trying to finish the show in 13 episodes is the worst decision they made. Nowhere near enough episodes to write any meaningful storytelling. Everything has been so rushed (Jaime returning to Cersei, Dany suddenly going mad etc.)
Very sad to see what this show has become.
Game of Thrones: The Last of the Starks (2019)
Better than the last episode
Whilst this was a definite improvement on The Long Night, the show still has some major problems.
Characters just come and go at will. Remember in season 1 when it states that it took Cersei and Robert months to travel from Kings Landing to Winterfell? Well now all it takes is a few minutes.
To give the writers some credit, they did at least try to build up some tension and intrigue. Unfortunately they mostly do thia by having characters act completely irrationaly or out of character.
We're supposes to believe that Bronn, a man who threw himself infront of a dragon to save Jaime, now has no love for him or Tyrian any more? Jerome Flynn was fantastic as always in that scene but it seemed out of characyer for him.
The same could be said for Jaime himself. Going back to Cersei, really? Unless he is going back to kill her, (in which case, surely he would have just said that to Brienne) it makes no sense for him to go back.
How Ghost was treated by the writers was a joke. It's a shame when the fans care so much more about characters than the writers do.
FIFA 14 (2013)
Worst FIFA yet!
This game is truly awful. Every year I buy FIFA and every year I think it's great, to begin with. All FIFA games grow tiresome at some point but FIFA 14 wore my patience thin exceptionally quick. The makers of this game clearly have absolutely no concept of what football is.
It constantly gives you stupid stuff to deal with. It is near enough impossible to execute a chip through ball perfectly because FIFA thinks that no professional football would have the ability to put some back spin on their pass, therefore the ball goes over your attacker, then just keeps rolling and rolling until it gets through to the oppositions goalkeeper.
This is just one of many horrendous things about this game, the scripting, which has been an issue for a number of years, is more prevalent in this one than in any of the others. It has literally got to the point where I'm getting annoyed off at myself scoring in the 45th and 90 th minute. The stoppage time lasts forever and it just becomes so damn easy to score at the end of either half.
Here's another frustrating factor, the ratings they give are absolute rubbish. Basically, if the player has a good overall, he will be good, you may as well ignore all of his individual attributes. I had a player on my career mode for Bury who had a sprint speed of 96 and an acceleration of 95. However, because his overall was only 59, FIFA had very cleverly decided that he had to be terrible at EVERYTHING. His acceleration, although rated 95, was abysmal, it took him about 10 seconds to get anywhere near full speed. But a player with a higher overall but lower acceleration, eg. Luis Suarez, Wayne Rooney etc. would not have this issue.
The commentary is the most pathetically written and irritating thing I've ever listened to. Nobody wants to hear the same story every game. Also, you could have advanced to the year 2020 on your manager mode and they will still be talking about David Moyes' recent appointment as Man United manager. Or even worse, you could be Man United manager and they would still be talking about David Moyes as the new manager.
There are just so many things wrong with this game, I've only just began to scratch the surface. I just pray that when FIFA 15 comes out, I won't get sucked in and waste my money on what will, no doubt, be another pile of rubbish.
