Creative and just down right terrific
26 December 2018
This movie was so creative. One of my favorites this year. The reviews of this movie remind me of John Carter reviews. Both films are fantastic, with amazing landscapes and characters. Why the box flop is unclear. Definitely go see this fancy film, rich and super original. Great storyline and I loved the characters, especially shriek.

It was enlightening to see the man behind the fame
28 February 2017
HBO: Becoming Warren Buffett. Highly recommend it.

What an amazing man, not because of his money but because he maintains his character regardless of the amount of money he has. If his portrayal in this documentary is accurate, which I believe it is, then the best part of this documentary was getting a glimpse to his philosophy of life and approach to businesses- just fascinating. He seems to be a man with great moral values, integrity, and extreme focus, which one needs to be the best at anything.

Plus, his respect for others, including his wife, game playing with numbers and an appreciation for Dale Carnegie is just awesome.

Maybe I loved it because it reminds me of my 8 yr old son that has read Dale Carnegie 2X and is always crunching math numbers in his head.

The movie lines up with the book
10 February 2017
I don't understand the bad ratings. I think creating a movie from the books (especially this type of book) is really hard. The books were super cheesy, regardless fun to read so why would the movie be any different?

For what these actors have to do, they did a superb job.

Don't get me wrong, this is not a 10 movie but for what it is and where it is derived from, I give it a 10.

The first movie was a bit weak due to poor character development. Such that first movie didn't help the audience understand why Christian was so messed up. In this second movie, I think they worked hard at developing the characters, which made it a much better movie.

Surprised by the low rating- it was an excellent movie
27 January 2017
Let me state up front that compared to "other movies" this movie is not a 10 but for what I expected it to be -a kid friendly, fun-loving movie that is relatively straightforward- it gets a 10. My 8 yr old son and 10 yr old daughter loved it, and so did I. It was sweet and heartfelt.

I cried each time the dog became another dog, and I don't think I am that sensitive.

In fact, this movie reminds me a bit of look who's talking, in the mind of a baby but in this movie, in the mind of a dog. It may feel realistic for some and not for others but who cares, it is a movie to make you smile and it is definitely not reality.

Funny and Witty
15 July 2016
With a 4.1 rating at the time of the showing, I went expecting the absolute worst. Instead I laughed my ass off. It was so funny and witty. Perhaps because I accepted it for what it is. A totally implausible situation and movie- meant to be funny. I really liked one comment about how in academia one needs to kiss ass till you get tenure- perhaps because I myself am a female professor on that track. Regardless, if you actually catch the under breath comments, which there are many (and what makes the lines witty), you will find it really funny. Totally not a 4.1. I gave it a 10 because it is not meant to be an academy award winning movie, it is meant to be relatively mindless (not referring to stupid but referring to not cerebral), creative, silly, fun humor to enjoy, which is exactly what it was.
