Wild (I) (2014)
Journey of one woman to find healing.
19 January 2019
Wild is a moving and inspirational journey. Director Jean-Marc Vallée captures the sights and sounds of nature as we travel the distance with an emotionally distraught heroine (Reese Witherspoon) on her way to recovery.

Sex, drugs and more sex, this is the life that Cheryl Strayed is trying to leave behind. She does so by hiking more than 1,000 miles cross-country on the PCT (Pacific Crest Trail).

Don't talk to strangers on vacation!
19 January 2019
Suspenseful, psychologically creepy, realistic which made it even more freaky, especially for females traveling alone. Be very careful about who you talk to while on vacation or anywhere.

Undertow (2004)
Not my type of movie.
17 January 2019
Strange movie that didn't have much of a story line. I'm sorry I wasted my time but I watched the whole thing hoping it would have a reason to be made. It didn't.

Welcome Home (I) (2018)
Well made quality thriller with a scary twist on air b&b!
16 January 2019
Welcome Home is such a smart yet scary idea. A well written script and story provides a horrific take on air b&b. It is well acted by all the leads, and as a viewer you will be on the edge of your seat and feeling tension the whole time. The film also calls into question our privacy and who may just be watching us unbeknownst to us in this day and age. It takes place and was filmed in Italy and the setting is both beautiful with the views and landscapes yet scary with the feeling of isolation of being far from home.

Halloween (I) (2018)
garbage film
15 January 2019
A mess, wasting money and time.

The acting is bad,it's lackluster. I was done by the part when the Sharif was killed. When I first heard of it I was like "Oh,no. Not another one...." My brother and I made fun of it as we watched to keep from getting bored or angry. It's bad but not awful as the kills were good and the gore: That's IT.

Graduation (2016)
very realistic drama
15 January 2019
The style of filmmaking fits perfectly with the dialogue, concerning societal moral issues.

Graduation (Bacalaureat) is a Romanian Drama about a man trying to disregard all of the misfortunes around him, but instead focuses on his daughter.

Eye-opening brutal.
13 January 2019
Unbelievable. I can't believe what I just watched. My mind is numb and I in all honesty can say I am 100 percent floored at the blunt nature of this film. I have seen a lot of disturbing and sick stuff when it comes to cinema but this powerhouse is shocking. It holds nothing back. This black and white filmed picture of depravity takes the viewer into a darkness that is so reality based that the one viewing it feels the process taking place on film as if it's real.

The sexual nature and the aspect of torture come together in a stark slap in the face. Bunny is a prostitute. Day to day she seeks out men for money to support her drug habit and to keep herself fed. One trick after another seems to be more violent then the next. Soon she is picked up by a trucker named Hog and then all hell breaks loose as Bunny is stuck in true unrelenting madness and horror through torture of some the most heinous ordeals.

The trucker has a little playground of handcuffs and a camera and chains in the back of his truck and Bunny is his next plaything. I have to commend and mention the acting or at least the ordeal that Rodleen Gestic went through who plays Bunny. She is a golden performer. The torture and humiliation even though it's a movie would have to be hard to go through. This is like a snuff film of torture, sexual torture.

This is not for everyone. Hell it's not for most, but with that said if you truly want to see something disturbingly remarkable then you have to see this, this is a one of a kind dark picture. If you go into this wanting a thick dialogue and a character study of cinema then you won't get it, for this is one sex act after another and one torture shot after another.

The camera work is flooring, the cinematography is mind altering in the art house indie department of film making. It's like life unfolding before your eyes, a slow trip into insanity. A balls to the wall smack in the face that leaves the viewer bleeding from their eyes.

Its fine, not great
13 January 2019
Within the first fifteen minutes or so I thought I was really going to hate this movie. The falseness of it all felt so glaring. It was trying to be something it didn't naturally know how to pull off in the worst way. Once we get past the rather scrutinizing character introductions though, the movie levels up and becomes what it is without that aspect of attempting to be something it's not.

Assassination Nation is an extreme satire, but it's a rather effective one. It's a film that will either grow better or worse with age, but my guess is this might be a pretty trippy to experience in ten to fifteen years. Yeah, this super-stylized take on the coming-of-age tale through the lens of our presently overexposed culture would have probably worked better as a limited series or something given the movie already feels like the core characters essentially walk through a handful of different vignettes which in turn means the movie begins to feel like it's dragging in that latter half, but it goes out with such a bang it's hard to argue one didn't have a blast.

A man who comes to announce his death to his family who he hasn't seen in year's doesn't happen due to family issues. The film is a little bland but ok, nonetheless i enjoyed Marion Cotillard as always.

A not so typical zombie-flick with a lot of fun lines and cool "Mad Max"-inspired scenes.

good movie for parents of teens
7 January 2019
It focus more on the worried parent than the victim. And the victim denies all allegation about his aggressor which makes this film ridiculous with spats of drama.

Lame and not at all believable. I didn't like the hype the preview is the whole movie. No real action and suspense.

This is a movie that honestly has 2 main camps: you either love it or hate it. I can see why some may. Its hard to describe the movie without giving it away. The film opens with a couple arriving at a secluded home. The wife is cautioned to not go into one room (though hey she isn't locked out of it). what is found when she enters the room sets the stage for the rest of the film and has several layers of complexity which is how I give it the above title because that is pretty much what the movie is. Its not big on action though there are some light violence scenes. Its more above previous events and subsequent ones.

The stories are good, just not enough to really care
4 January 2019
A French version on Love Actually that is shot much better but doesn't tie the characters together as well. But there's a lot of themes done right here, good acting and a few very entertaining scenes along with a very fast emotional connection to the lead. But also a few useless characters and almost a completely useless storyline (thankfully it has a lot if interest and charm) make this French "love connection" movie just shy of greatness.

Well cast. Dominic West has an amazing career now, and his range is surprisingly wide. Keira Knightley is the queen of period drama. Well done.

A French Reminiscence on Youth and sexual exploration
29 December 2018
It's not an easy movie to watch, especially if you have teenage kids. However, I think it's well done, and it is done with a touch of kindness and thoughtfulness that another director could have easily missed. This movie is not about poor-kid-getting-out-of-miserable-life, nor it is about an abused-at-home-kid. This movie is just about a late teenager who discovers sex and by accident it becomes a way of life. She doesn't find any particular pleasure in it, she's actually divorced from the act. We (at least, I) never understand why she started doing escorts: she lives in a well balanced and apparently normal family. Yet, during the movie we discover that she finds out her mother is having an affair, but trying to reduce her "escorting" to an effort to match up her mother's betrayal would be in my opinion way too easy. In fact, and this is my bottom line, I think the movie challenges the audience with different possibilities to interpret or understand the kid's behavior: maybe, there is not one way to read this. And, this is what I liked about it.

Was this supposed to be a thriller? Horror movie? Commentary on what happens when you have unprotected sex with drug dealers? Or drugs? Or this is what Hunter Thompson's world would be if he were a chick? Huge skip it moment.

Loved it

This film shows young women shredding on skateboards as well as forming friendships with other young women. It's great to see independent films like these that show girls doing something strong and powerful and in a very male-dominated arena.
