Jackie Robinson: Get to the Bag (2022)
New Perspective on Jackie that I've never seen before!
This was a wonderful documentary and very eye opening. We all know about his accomplishments in sports but Get to the Bag is specifically about Jackie Robinson's contributions as a black tycoon/mogul/businessman. Especially during the Civil Rights Era. It was very special to see the connection of his efforts, along with modern-day Magic Johnson, the athletes of today, and the bright youth coming up. Many full circle moments! The raps gave an entertaining and stylish approach. The lyrics were powerful and poetic! The director, rapper, and production team should all be proud. Well done all!! Great educational film to show to the youth.
The Hate U Give (2018)
Outstanding Content & Directing to put you right in the Character's Frame of Mind
The Hate U Give was outstanding!! I loved the real life situations and how it put you right in the emotional mindset of personally witnessing an unjust police shooting. You felt like YOU were the witness and YOU felt the complexities of her loved ones and the situation at hand. Every character was connected to each other which made Starr's decisions even more intense. I was in awe with the book and even more in awe with the movie. I laughed, I cried, and took several moments of silence with myself throughout the film. Thank you all for your bravery in writing and filming this wonderful story!

Great twist, great story!
Wow what a twist! I always enjoy watching Daffany Clark and Vanessa Giordano perform and I was captivated by Kirby Johnson and Ashlyn Pearce. I love female writers and filmmakers and I enjoyed the suspense written from a woman's perspective. Right on point. We are very concerned about our friendships and will go to the moon and back to keep them. Literally. With only 5 days of shooting, I am amazed by the production and thoroughly enjoyed the film. Definitely a must see!!
The Birth of a Nation (2016)
Absolutely Phenomenal!!
I don't care what critics say or what media persuaded you to think. This is hands down a very important and phenomenal movie. In the eyes of the oppressed, we must all understand history and what it is to have your rights completely stripped from you. Nate Parker did a beautiful job showing this reality that was not too far from today. He also showed the black man in his most vulnerable state falling in love under such volatile conditions and taking a stand that could and did get everyone he loved killed. It's a must-see and believe THIS is what filmmaking is about. Artistic, beautiful, and raw. Please take a chance and watch this film. I promise you won't regret it!
