Saw X (2023)
9/10
Welcome back John Kramer!
27 October 2023
"Saw X" is an unexpected and quite good return of the franchise. Proving to be one of the best installments, it takes us back to the roots of the series. Here's what you can say about the movie:

A quality story that knows exactly what it wants to tell the audience. Impressive challenges and interesting traps. The trademark violence is still there. Tobin Bell's acting.

Nothing fundamentally new about "Saw X" when you watch it. Some may not like the attempt to "whiten" the character of John Kramer.

The movie unfolds between the first and second part of the series, ignoring the complex plot intricacies that have accumulated over the years of the franchise. This allows "Saw X" to be the most focused movie possible, with a clear story and its own moral lessons. The traps in the movie aren't overly extravagant, but each one has its own interesting meaning. The trademark brutality is also present on an appropriate level.

All in all, Saw X is a good movie that will please fans of the horror genre and has all the elements we love about the series.
