Warning: Spoilers
Richard Madden is an actor I was following and a friend told me about this show. Could not make it beyond the first episode. I realize there are things that the viewer must put aside to believe the story line - but I just couldn't do it. The fight scene on the first episode - if that had happened in real life, it probably would not have lasted more than a minute - a person could simply cannot be punched and thrown against the wall that many times without being unconscious. Priyanka Chopra had so much makeup on, I could not take her character (in the first episode) seriously. Stanley Tucci, while he is a fine actor, was also disappointing here. I could not believe they spent so much money on the show. This is like a bad version of James Bond.

If you like Richard Madden, watched him in a movie call "A promise" from 2013. It was also panned, but I really enjoyed his character there.

Unlikable characters
15 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Unlikable characters made it difficult to watch the show. Forest Whitaker (along with other actors), to be fair, did a wonderful job. There characters were very believable but yet I didn't care for him at all. He was not a very likable person in the movie and it was difficult to watch because of that. Theo James played his to be son-in-law and I would not have tolerated the way he was treated. (His character was portrayed as someone who is not very responsible .) Also the ending left a very big question about how the entire city was destroyed. It wasn't too bad, but this is not a movie I would like to see it again nor would I buy this on a Blu-ray.

Enjoyed it very much!
3 July 2023
I finished this entire show in one weekend. When I wasn't busy cleaning my house, I was watching it in Japanese (I usually prefer to watch a movie or show in its original language) and when I was busy, I was watching it in English dubbed. I found that the characters were totally believable and the acting and scripts were excellent. It's supposed to be fairly accurate - my brother was actually in Tokyo when the earthquake hit - of course many years ago. These characters/people did what they thought was best at that time and they are not to blame. Of course Chernobyl (show) was a bit different - but I am not talking about that excellent show. I really enjoyed this and have no idea why the critics gave it such a low rating. Give it a try, you will love it, too.

Uneven, and most characters are not likable.
4 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I tried watching the show in Korean language and in English dubbed. But when I was busy, I had to switch to the English dubbed so I don't have read the subtitles. A bit disappointed with the English voices. Not that the voices didn't "look" like the characters, but I just didn't believe what they were saying.

The story line is a bit uneven. Most of the characters do not have very appealing personalities.. There are times that I could not tell if a character was the good guy, or a bad guy. There were a lot of moments where something needed to be done, they ended up talking, or crying instead. I wanted to stick it out and I just finished the last episode of the show. It was like watching a train wreck - I know time travel sometimes doesn't make sense but this is not like the Netflix's Dark (not even remotely) - just too many selfish characters - and Mr. Park couldn't stop smiling and laughing (what is up with that?) I don't have any problem with the violence - but they don't seem to be afraid of guns pointing at them. It isn't as bad as I make it sound - it kept me busy but it's not the kind of show that I would watch it again.

Kept my attention until the end
17 May 2023
This show was made by the same people that created Dark on Netflix. It is just as "dark" but not as creepy. It held my attention until the very end. I learned shortly that Netflix stupidly canceled the second season even though it is very highly rated. Totally ruined another member and I cannot tell you how disappointed I am with Netflix. There is an extra episode about how the show was made, and that was very interesting to watch, as well. You will not be disappointed - it is a little confusing but pay attention! All the characters are important, and they were very well acted. I think it is best to watch it in "English" and not the "English dubbed" as the actors are multilingual and it is very interesting to see how they can actually communicate even if they don't understand each other.

Not bad actually
20 April 2023
The story line I think is quite good. There are, however, too many unlikable (and some that are annoying) characters, but all that, have kept me watching it until the last episode of season one. I decided not to take the show too seriously and that's probably what most of us should do - give it a break, just enjoy it for what it is. Their budget is probably not as high as the current Star Trek shows on Paramount stream channel, but those characters that I grew to really dislike, I have to say were well acted. I realized that they are not like that in real life but it makes it interesting - almost like where I work. We don't all get along, and there are some people that no one likes - just like in real life. Enjoy it what it is. They are in the situation that they could not help (the pilot, that is), and they are doing the best they can. I honestly think it's not bad. I like the character of Angus who more or less reminded myself of who I was when I was younger. (He's better looking though.)

I totally enjoyed this!
17 April 2023
What's with the people putting down this show? Okay, they filmed it at the proper location(s), they probably found the actors who looked (sort of) like the real persons. Okay, so they added some juicy stuff to it (to make it more interesting). The truth is, everyone who rated this show so badly could not have personally have done half as good as this.

The experts who were interviewed seemed to know what they were talking about. Half of them I am sure live at those locations, too (too spooky for me though), but it's like being a fly on the wall, and to witness these people, makes a very interesting story.

Have seen it more than once, and I find it very enjoyable!

I enjoyed this movie
8 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I just finished this movie. I also looked at other ratings and comments - and I disagree with them. While I don't think the story line and the logic of it (world is running out of oxygen because there were no more plants) is not infeasible, but being a sci-fi movie, you have to use a bit of imagination and ignore the elephant in the room. I don't think it is fair to dissect any movie into pieces to criticize it - you simply enjoy it, for what it is.

Somebody complained about the main character crying - I thought that was excellent acting. I felt what he was going through - the death of his wife, etc. This is not something I personally could do. The cinematography was very good - I managed to get a Blu-ray copy of this, and I have seen it more than once.

Couldn't hold my attention
8 April 2023
I really wanted to like this movie but I could only make it to an hour, out of almost 2 hour length. The actors, I believe, try their hardest but the script and probably the directing were not solid enough. I am not qualified to be in front of the camera as an actor, but I have seen enough movies to see that a very good actor ending up doing a mediocre work and that can be blamed on the director/script. This movie is one of them. Like I said, I wanted to like this movie so much and I have seen better movies with even lower budget that held my attention until the end - unfortunately this is not one of them.

Really enjoyed this movie
7 March 2023
7 March 2023. I just finished this movie. I read the synopsis on Hulu and I thought I would give this a try as sci-fi movies on my thing. I am not disappointed at all - I was glued to the screen until the end. I love the twisted ending and I felt that all characters did extremely well. I just look at the other reviews and people were complaining about bad script - I don't think so. I could not have done anything close to this and I have to tell you how much I enjoyed this movie. All the characters were very believable - they look like real friends in real life. The character of the mother was terrific, as well. Thank you all for this movie. I will keep an eye on future projects.

What?
15 May 2022
Okay. I couldn't make it beyond first episode. Full disclosure - am gay, and am out to the whole world - to my family, friends and people at work. But I couldn't understand why they cast a woman to play a boy (young man) - what is this - the t.v. Show of Peter Pan (yes, usually a woman plays Peter Pan on stage, and I get it). Who greenlighted this awful show.

Bad script
28 July 2019
A short like this make me appreciate better ones. I'm actually disappointed because I have seen two actors from the show previously. This story line isn't that bad, but the script is awful.

There are far too many unlikable and immature characters. I am ignoring the plot holes but just the first few episodes showed things that should not have happened (I don't want to go into it to spoil those who have not seen it.)

One thing I thought was very weird was the actor who play William, the "computer." It took me a week to finish the entire show so I may be wrong about this but I thought his English accent (the actor is British), was quite more obvious in the latter episodes.

And what is up with him having emotion. It ruins the show. I'd stick with cold and calm Hal® 2000.

It really is not these actors fault at all - it's a horrible script that felt so rushed and unfinished.

I hope it is not a career suicide for the main actress which I really enjoyed her part in the Battlestar Galactica remake.

Enjoyable short gay film
5 September 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Heath Daniels plays Daniel (he's the producer, writer and the star in this movie) who has always wanted to be a Flash Dance (particularly the actress Jennifer Beals, the character of Alex Owens). His tries out repeatedly at different clubs and was always rejected for being too skinny (and way too white). His best friend Matthew (adorable Matthew Bridges) encourages him along the way. Heath Daniels has that adorable American twinky and you can't help but cheer him on. At the end, the failures gave him the idea that he should start his own group of skinny dancers. It's predictable but you can't help liking Daniel because he is innocent and sooooooo cute!!!!!!!!!!
