Good Luck, Miss Wyckoff (1979)
Uncomfortable, not politically correct
#spoilers
In 1956, a Jr. College instructor has emotional problems. Her doctor says she needs a psychiatrist and to get laid.
The 40-year-old virgin starts seeing a psychiatrist and to live a little. Her plans fall through, however.
At work, an insolent 24-year-old Black work/study student rapes her. In 1956, she would be equally if not more blamed. After she doesn't report the rape, he demands more sex. She finds she likes it.
The story proceeds as expected. They are discovered and she is forced to leave town.
The student loses part of his scholarship, but will be forgiven after his next touchdown.
Contains explicit scenes and concerns an uncomfortable subject.
The Lost City (2022)
Enjoy the badness
My rating reflects that after a while you sit back and just go with just how bad this film is. My girlfriend said Sandra Bullock looked like a ghoul and was probably thinking that losing that much weight makes her look young. I have seen worse and it is entertaining all the cliches they pile on.
Welcome to Happiness (2015)
Weird little slow movie ruined by sound editing.
Most of the dialogue seems like whispers and you need the sound turned way up, about the highest setting you have. And then the music comes I and knocks you out of your seat. How did it get released in this condition?
Seems like an art film project with good direction and interesting actors.
One Touch of Venus (1955)
Poor songs, poor singers, minor actors
This TV production has been justly forgotten. As the headline says poor songs, and poor singers. None of the actors went on to have major careers.
Battle of Los Angeles (2011)
Too Slow For Bad Movie Night
Mockbuster means it is a cheesy takeoff of a popular movie and that is what you get in this straight to video and SF Channel takeoff of Battle: Los Angeles. If you were expecting the also cheesy bad latter film which actually had a decent budget nearly all of the other reviewers here express your disappointment. The Asylum group specializes in these knockoffs and this is actually one of their best efforts (damning with very faint praise.) This video combines Skyline and Battle: Los Angeles with Independence Day and tosses in a few throwaway references to ET and Kill Bill among other movies. I would recommend this for bad movie night except it has too many slow stretches. Bad acting and very cheap special effects and screwed up technical details characterize these type of films. This video actually has a plot but it doesn't make much sense so don't do the comparison to bad porn with no naked bodies. Young viewers who like cheap SF and get the other movie references might sit through this movie.
This Girl's Life (2003)
Female Version of Boogie Nights
Has much better acting than Boogie Nights but a weaker plot. In looking at some reviews and comments I notice that a certain maturity seems to be required to appreciate the film as it presents more than one-dimensional characters in a controversial subject area. Many actions can also be interpreted more than one way.
It is the story of Moon, a veteran porn star who is becoming well known after 5 years of movie and Internet fame, and her life which is more than being a porn star.
There are many scenes of the porn industry presented in a matter of fact fashion. Viewers may have different moral or ethical judgments or opinions about character motivations.
James Woods plays Moon's "Pop" suffering from Parkinson's in an excellent portrayal. Other porn stars have guest appearances. Juliette Marquis is excellent and beautiful.
Recommended for mature adult and broad minded viewers.

A theme brought up in the beginning of the movie of the difference between men and women is explored in the later half of the movie as she starts a sexual infidelity investigation service.
The basic question toward the end of the movie is rather she should continue her porn career when a boyfriend and the other career opportunity offer alternatives.
