Erased (2012)
Nothing Stellar
Erased was filled with high budget action scenes and fancy martial arts take downs, but take a step back and get the bigger picture, the plot is lacking in a sense of engagement. It was very hard to find something here to grip onto besides the daughter being in danger. Fight and gun scenes were nothing more than your average Hollywood action film. There were many issues with the dialogue such as Eckhartt telling his daughter to get to Brussels when in fact they where already there. Also many times having to change the volume to suit the at times whispering dialogue. Seems volume went to 100 then to 5, made it a little irritating to stay in tune when I'm constantly adjusting the volume. Eckhartt seems like he'd be much more engaging in a villain role rather than the save the day super hero portrayed here. My suggestion is to stay away if you have some other movies at your disposable but it was at least enjoyable to watch.
Uninhabited (2010)
Not terrible if you go unbiased
Uninhabited started off with some great film work showcasing a beautiful deserted island in the Great Barrier Reef region. Captivates seeing the beautiful surroundings the region has to offer. Beth and Harry come off as a wonderful couple escaping from the real world to spend some time alone on this beautiful landscape, but things take a turn downward as things go astray.
We personally enjoyed this one however acting was not top notch, and we found it extremely difficult to get sucked in due to poor scripting, and Harry seeming confused the whole time. This wouldn't be a bad one to sit back and watch to get a few nice scares out of! Nick A.
