Dressed to Kill (1980)
DTK is in my top ten movies!
Dressed to Kill is one of my favorite movies. It is also in my top 3 Depalma films ever. This is extremely suspenseful but is also very stylish. The cinematography is amazing with scenes like Dickinson in the art gallery. Here's the plot: Angie Dickinson is in New York with her son played by Keith Gordan. She goes to her psychiatrist played by Michael Caine (who is a convincing shrink) She has sexual problems and tells him about them. After she is done with the meet she goes to an art gallery and hooks with a guy she likes. As they leave you can see a figure in a crowd of people in a black trench coat and sunglasses. At his place they sleep together but when she leaves she looks at his files and she realizes in horror he has a venereal disease! This scene takes you by shock and takes you full extent. She gets to an elevator and soon when the doors open the woman in the coat slashes her with a razor. She is in dread but she is trapped and the killer has forced her in. She slashes Dickinson across her torso and hands and face and the razor slits her throat.Nancy Allen is waiting for the elevator with a client and when it opens he sprints off in shock. But Allen goes to help Dickinson who is reaching for Allen. You see the killer in right by the doors. This is my favorite scene in the movie as you can see the killer and know that Allen is risking her life but you can't do anything to help. She can see the razor flash and pulls away seeing the figure in the mirror of the machine. The doors close and Nancy Allen grabs the razor that had been left. But now the killer gets a new victim to eliminate. After this the police suspect Allen but Dickinsons son investigates the killing and is able to save Allen when the razor wielding villain attacks her at a subway. Together they get a plan and suspect Caine. Allen seduces Caine and he leaves. She looks for Gordan outside the window but then the killer in the coat returns and tries to kill Allen but she is shot and the sunglasses and wig leave the body to reveal that Caine is the slaughterer! This is a perfect movie in my beliefs and I highly recommend this mystery horror!
FleshEater (1988)
a very good underatted zombie film.
Okay first off, I remember about three years back my dad had just moved into St. Francis into a new apartment and one of the first times I visited him in that area we went to a cool video store called Buckys video. Anyway I'm a huge fan of horror movies and I checked out the horror section and I caught a glimpse of a cover box of this film. (the VHS of this is called REVENGE OF THE LIVING ZOMBIES) I picked it up and after viewing it was I disappointed hell no! This was a good zombie film that is underatted so much because some people think this is a copy of the infamous NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD. Okay people listen to me yes the ending rips off night but thats about it! The only other similarity was the fact of zombies walking around farmfields. People need to watch this and see it for what it truly is A GOOD MOVIE WITH SOME NICE ACTING AND MEMORABLE SCENES. Now that I'm done with that heres the plot: A bunch off teens take a tractor ride into some woods to have sex and party. Nearby a farmer accidentally unleashes a zombified sacrifice. Farmer gets killed, he returns to life both start killing teens, two becomes 4, 4 becomes 6. you know. The music is great and it adds greatly to the atmosphere of the film. (creepy piano music) and the area its in just has a great creepy atmosphere to it. This gore is awesome savini like gore. Heads are blown off, throats are ripped out, a cop is mutilated in his car, a heart is pulled out, some impalings, the bedroom scene (if you see it you'll know what I mean. A good and underatted creepy zombie film, don't listen to what others say see it and you might be surprised.
Zzikhimyeon jukneunda (2000)
Not a ripoff
THIS IS NOT A RIPOFF! ALL PEOPLE WHO Haven't SEEN THIS YET LISTEN TO ME! Okay just because a movie has a plot only slightly like another movie doesn't exactly mean its a ripoff. I mean come on you people might as well just b#%^h about every movie that copied Friday THE 13th! Okay here are the MAJOR differences Teens accidentally kill random person they don't know in car crash: Teens accidentally kill another student by stabbing him to death.
Both groups vow not to speak of it ONE SIMILARITY!!!!!!!! Teens start getting killed by figure in fishing uniform: Teens start getting killed by figure in boiler jacket and hood.
Basically this is a pretty good time with good acting, some nice suspense, gore, a fun and funny soundtrack and a great ending. I Know What You did Last Summer was an okay movie but this is a lot better in my view and probably others too.
Swimming Pool - Der Tod feiert mit (2001)
One of the best slashers of 2001
This was a awesome movie! And It was made when the scream inspired slasher realm was still popular at the time. The killer looked cool and there were enough good things about the movie to keep you interested. Basically its about a girl and her group of friends going to the biggest indoor pool of the area to have one last fling before graduating and guess what starts happening to them? A killer with a skull mask starts killing them one by one. Finely directed and acted this pools worth jumping in. Also the most famous thing about this is the cool "waterside death" in which a girl going down a waterside gets cut in half by a machete that comes up! Someone on here mentioned a sequel? Id appreciate it if someone gave me more info on this :)
Open House (1987)
Better than what most say.
I don't see why everyone is bombing this so much. I thought it was a great fun time that sadly wasn't popular enough to be that famous. Believe me I have seen much much worse than this. If you want a bad movie see blood shack or the alien dead or something. So what this is normal slasher fare but better than most. And it is watchable. This movie also has one of the best soundtracks I've heard. Some of the music is very suspenseful. And the death scenes are cool too. We see a very bloody body in a bathtub with the words SOLD written in blood on the mirror, and we also get a cool double beating by a toilet plunger! with razors attached to it! This was a good fun 80s slasher that's definitely worth your time despite what others say about it.
Killing Spree (1987)
B- movie fun!
I recently got this flick on DVD and from all I've read about in other reviews was really anxious to see it. When I was done I was very surprised. They don't make movies like this anymore! I guess the greatest thing about this is that it doesn't try to be that serious "which is evident during the head scene and the zombie finale" and it doesn't get so goofy that you don't even understand it. Heres the plot newlyweds tom russo "Asbestos felt" and Lisa "Courtney lercara" move to a new neighborhood and for a while everything goes alright. Except for toms nosy neighbor. But then he thinks his wife is having affairs with his friend and visitors. So he starts to kill them one by one. And the last fifteen minutes feels like your on a bad acid trip. This movie features several creative deaths like the screwdriver and clawhammer deaths. "gotta love the ceiling fan death" and fellow gorehounds will not be disappointed. mild bad acting but a great soundtrack even though it features the lamest porno music I've ever heard makes this an independent classic you must see.
