Dexter: New Blood (2021)
Good to have some sort of final ending to Dexter.
It was good to get some sort of final ending on Dexter.
The cast were great as expected, the writing was good as was location and everything. I can even forgive the fact that he no longer seems to respect his code.
Now the elephant in the room. Dexter is dead, yeah ok many of us would have been happy for that not to have happened, but we are where we are.
I just hope that they do not think the ratings for this series give them justification to reboot it with his son, sort of "Son of Dexter", it does not.
Michael C Hall, is Dexter and he is the show. His son does not have the charm, charisma or likeability of Dexter, if a serial killer can ever be likeable.
So whilst i enjoyed immensely the return of Dexter and at least it was brought to an end, that's it i am done with it now.
Don't, Just Don't.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019)
Getting there.
Certainly a vast improvement on Black OPs 3, which was frankly ludicrous and Black OPs 4. Still of the Black Ops, 2 is hard to beat.
Now they just need to tighten up the bot AI and also for the love of god get rid of sliding, its stupid, still to many people jumping around like bunnies and sliding like idiots.
Also sort out the cheats, still to many wall hacks, aimbots and such, but at least Blizzard/Battlenet seem to be sorting out their server issues. Its stupid to have to compromise your computer security to play the game before, changing your NAT to open does just that no matter what Blizzard/Battlenet say.
SEAL Team: Backwards in High Heels (2019)
WTF, Are you serious.
So let me get this straight, even by their own admittance normally it would be Delta Force that would be doing this sort of OP, however no Delta Force so they have to use the Seals, who also by their own admittance are not suited to this role.
They all then fly over to Qatar, where immediately they start telling the SAS, what to do and how they have got it all wrong. The SAS, yes those same guys who have been doing this sort of thing for years, have trained umpteen SF around the world, including Delta and the Seals.
Firstly this sort of thing is highly specialised, normal SAS or Seal team troops are not specifically trained for this. Deta Force and SAS CRW are trained for this, and are the best there is. Hostage and hyjacking is the perview of SAS CRW, so if its meant to be SAS CRW, then the Seals are very much the outsider in this scenario.
Seal Team sadly in this episode came over as just what many people think of Americans in general, arrogant, all knowing and big mouths, this episode just proved it. Of course the reality is that its totally untrue and any former members of the US SF community must have been cringing at this.
The Right Stuff (2020)
Oh No.
Another great idea sacrificed on the alter of political correctness.
How could such an interesting subject become so boring. My advice is to read the book or watch the 1983 film, which are both far superior.
The Right Stuff has been turned into a soap opera and not a very interesting one at that.
This is about the USA's first attempts to put men in orbit, yes men, remember this is the 1950/60's. Women were very much in the background, thats not saying they were not important its just they are not the subject of the book or film.
If you need to see more women in space then i can recommend For All Mankind, if you want to see a factual film about women in the early days of space exploration then i can highly recommend the 2016 film Hidden Figures.
Such a wasted opportunity.
Mulan (2020)
Why ??
Mulan has been done on a number of occasions, this brings nothing new to it and indeed is inferior to others.
This one is far, far better.

War of the Worlds (2019)
Why War of the Worlds.
This has absolutly nothing to do with HG Well's War of the Worlds so why use this title.
If they had just called it a different name and made no association to the HG Wells book then it might have faired better.
Black Lightning (2018)
Bad Acting
Terrible acting, mess of a story.
Give me Luke Cage anyday.
Batwoman (2019)
I really, really tried.
I really wanted to like this, no honestly i did.
It hits every cliche and stereotype it needs to in this day and age and still it manages to be total crap. I thought that Supergirl was pretty bad, well this hits a new low.
The Twilight Zone (2019)
Disappointing
Well i suppose i view this through the eyes of someone who grew up on the original series.
I suppose its called original for a reason, it was original and groundbreaking. Everything that this is not.
I got to the end of season one, eventually and that's it for me. Nothing original at all to see here.
Oh and your social agenda is as clear as a bell writers.
The Last Ship (2014)
Another show past its sell by date.
One or at a stretch 2 seasons. Now its just limping alone for the sake of it.
Enough Please.
Red Sparrow (2018)
Not again.
Predictable plot, bad script and Jennifer Lawrence equals rubbish film. More style over substance.
Strike Back: Retribution: Part 1 (2017)
Another one gone from my watch list.
I noticed this creeping in in Season 5 and now its even worse in Season 6.
Another show sacrificed on the altar of political correctness.
Here are a few FACTS for you, most people on the front line in these sorts of things are men, very few women, certainly not in combat roles and certainly not in SF roles.
Yes there are women in combat roles and they serve with distinction but according to Strikeback, it's now 50/50 which is of course far from the truth.
I guess the producers of this show are trying to curry favour with more women and a more diverse audience. Well you have failed, my wife used to love this program, after watching Episode 1 of Season 6 she was laughing all the way through.
