Jurassic World Dominion (2022)
Best movie of the World trilogy
I am a huge Jurassic fan. I had my doubts about this movie going into it. I was sure the dialogue would be cheesy, the plot rushed and riddled with holes. Trevorrow is a good director, not so much a good screenwriter. I was anxious about the Malta scenes. Worried about there being too many characters.
That being said..... it all worked for me.
Comparing all these movies to the OG is where the problem lies. Everyone criticizes these newer films for not being the original one. But we've already HAD the original Jurassic Park. If there's another original, it can't be THE original. I don't know what people expect to happen in a situation where dinosaurs are literally everywhere. Could there have been more focus on peoples' everyday interactions with said dinosaurs and fewer interactions with giant locusts? Sure.
I liked the dialogue much more than I thought I would. The original cast worked pretty well for me here. I enjoyed the action. I actually felt connected to Owen and Claire for the first time in this film. Owen wasn't as stone-faced this film as he was the first two. Really enjoyed Dodgson. The music was great.
All in all, this is my new favorite film from the JW trilogy, whether or not it lives up to the expectations of others.
Riverdale: Chapter One Hundred: The Jughead Paradox (2021)
Much better than whatever those first four episodes were
I really wish this five episode event had been better. This was the best part by far. Wasn't amazing by any means, but I'm okay with the direction this episode took things.
Assembly Required (2021)
Leaves a lot of assembly to be desired
I think what hurts the show most of all is the pandemic. Perhaps if it were filmed during normal circumstances it would be a little better.
Tim is far more over the top than I thought he'd be, constantly interrupting Richard. I guess I shouldn't be surprised.
We'll see if it gets any better.
Riverdale: Chapter Seventy-Four: Wicked Little Town (2020)
It's Riverdale, what do you expect?
I actually thought this was decent. Let's not act like this show has ever thought it was the best written, best acted TV show to ever grace a network like The CW.
Only part that seemed too weird was The Archies singing on top of Pop's, but that seems about par for the course.
Batwoman (2019)
Not as bad as people say
It's not THAT bad. Problem is it's not really good. Nothing new under the sun.
The Cool Kids: Margaret Dates the Zodiac Killer (2018)
Best episode of the series
Ed Begley Jr was hilarious! The last scene absolutely cracked me up!
Ghosted: The Wire (2018)
Best episode yet
I thought this episode was very intriguing. Nice to see a change of pace. Hopefully the rest of the season can finish this strong.
