The Last of Us (2023)
This is how you make an adaptation
Honestly was skeptical over the casting choice over Ellie but i was proved wrong, Bella Ramsey embodies Ellie completely, Pedro Pascal is Joel and i couldn't imagine it any othe way
Coming to the show, it's intense and keeps you hooked right from scene one, the show is paced perfectly and the intensity and atmosphere the show is trying to create is achieved thoroughly.
If you've played the game there's a scene in the first episode which made me a bit emotional as it was perfectly done and elicited the exact kind of emotions the creators were trying to get from the audience
All in all its an amazing show, and i couldn't have imagined it better.
The Power of the Dog (2021)
Super slow burn, this should have been a short 10 min film, not worth it
I have literally no idea how it won so many awards, it's super slow, absolutely nothing happens in it, it starts of well, but then nothing happens, this should have been a 10 min short film instead and it would be able to show all it's content
It's super boring, the only postive is that somehow I didn't stop watching it even though it was super boring, so the direction is good, apart from that there is no story, acting is good, but this was a complete waste of my time..... LITERALLY NOTHING HAPPENS IN IT.
Southpaw (2015)
pretty good if you have a free Sunday
Pretty much a decent boxing flick, with good performances from all three lead actors.
If you're a boxing fan you are in for a treat as the boxing scenes were exceptionally good.
Gets a bit predictable and boring in the middle but somehow still maintains a pretty strong story line.
Definitely watch if you are a sports fan and for those who aren't, they may still enjoy it.

Wind River (2017)
One of the best movies of 2017
i waited a long time to watch this movie, and it was defiantly worth the wait. Riveting, Scenic and absolutely Brilliant. Acting, direction and cinematography were all top class. Probably Jeremy Renner's best performance till date.
The scenic views in the film were breathtaking.
Would definitely advise people to go out of their way to watch this. A little slow to start with, but picks up the pace really well. Some people might argue it was a little too sad but that's just because of the strong message the movie carried with it.

The Lobster (2015)
Don't watch it if you're single
Watched this movie a few days ago, and I hardly write reviews but felt the need to put the above disclaimer out there, starts of sad, gets sadder, and ends on an even more depressing note. so yeah couples go ahead, oh and scarce on the science element, 6 for the good acting/direction and innovative concept. There's scope in this genre'.
A Dark Song (2016)
if you want a good nap
watched this movie after reading all the reviews here, hoping it was a hidden gem, disappointed and lost some credit points from my family as it was my choice.
its a long winded film, bordering on some gross and disgusting scenes at times, with nothing to amount to it in the end.
if you want real horror, stay away, watch if you want a good nap on a Saturday afternoon after lunch, works better than any sleeping pills.
i give it a 2, because I'm not that mean.
