Reminds me of traveling mid east
13 February 2024
The actors are a little far from their role, they maintain their excellence of experience in an otherwise stunning performance of a location.

Why this should require so many words I will never know, but this is far from Scott's first Alien picture but it has oddly some of the same elements. I don't recall this word count business before Amzn.... although they don't seem to weigh the reviews much like the store front....anyway let my review go. There is no reason it should be equivalent to a book report. The review should show the movie is watched abd understood so others can choose to spemd the hours of in this case, enjoyment. I did change this, based on Bale yelling...

I stand with writers
6 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
We know that the dialogue might always be I am grrot of course, but an actual story deserves to be written. Companies will try to lower their costs anyway they can. This show looks very cool and it makes me sad they are only 3 minutes, mostly a poorly pitched idea that would maybe be 3 pages of a 4 panel comic.

I like the birds in a couple episodes, in one it just glares though until it laughs at him then he off camera rips its tail and feathers off shivering while groots walks off with a new scarf. This review really should be sorter than the word requirement considering the whole season might be 30 minutes. I hope they develop it more.

Impressive performance in a not so serious comedic horror
21 December 2022
Plaza makes this movie really great, she is a serious actress but also really good at being goofy and scary at the same time. The use of handheld isn't over the top which I really appreciate. If you like movies like shaun of the dead, you will appreciate this pun title even more.

It's not a happy movie, or a sad movie, or one that will make you think. It might make you hear smooth jazz in a comical way. I appreciated the music, and the uniqueness of this film. It's not often funny, but it's enjoyable and I would definitely recommend it as a quirky movie, in a norrow genre of good movies. You have your character min, maybe shorter reviews are helpful too.

Think of the children you could feed with millions of dollars wasted
20 December 2022
That's how bad this movie is. Not a comical B movie romp. It would be ok if your favorite movie and story told on screen could be independence day. Throwing it and 2001, and the matrix, and Armageddon, in a blender could have made an interesting story, but it didn't get close. It got very offensive to people who like movies and think they should have an interesting story outside of a plot summary. Thank you to all those that worked on the special effects, if not for you there would be no movie.

It's not the actors faults either, they were contracted to do this. I hope this saves you the time.

Correct a scam of reviews please
20 June 2022
Look and see how many end in dash 5 numbers, and see how many have the same name like michaelmMcConnell. See how many are ten of ten starting with the word brazil. This movie is no African Queen, this movie has very bright colors, shot on good locations, but it is shot in the way many low budget movies look.

There are many great efforts here, but please know this lacks the flow and skill of many great cinematic quests.

It should not be artificially pushed up near a 6, when a 4 average would be fair, or below 5 at least.

I'm sorry to be critical without being able to do better myself.

Its not bad, but it is a waste of real talent and money
7 April 2022
It's well shot, acting is great, premise isn't old, the dialogue is often good, that's why it's so sad that someone modified the story to be so broken.

If you like a good story, you will be left feeling empty and robbed of time by the end. It works towards minor character development, but never finds a story line that makes sense. I feel amazon is maybe manipulating this platform for good review stats as well as the plot of this story.

It seems as though someone who has had a very sheltered life modified this production to be not that gritty nor that funny.

Someone took the edge off this production, and I believe that person to be too well off. I suggest they get out of production, or give enough money to charity, talk to people different from themselves, and then understand what reality is for many. What you did to something that could have been great is unforgivable.

To understand what I mean, imagine you have a completely different story about an assassin, then with knife to characters throat, target with little connection says, don't you wish your mum hugged you more? They tear up, then hug, everyone including the bad guys cheer, the rest of the story is left as a moot point. That's what some executive did to what could have been a great story. I believe this to be true, or someone fixed a horrible story with good moments and dialogue.

It makes me sad to see what the riches produce with power. Stop stealing the show and let the artists create, you will never understand their struggle, only take away their beautiful picture by forcing them to paint one happy little tree over the forest you can't get. It becomes obvious that someone defiled the good things with a lack of vision or understanding of anything outside of their myopic view, and it hurt others probably much more than the viewers.

Great, especially as the story goes.
1 April 2022
There are a couple remarkable scenes from the actors as well as what appears to be neat night shot at a beach that could have been green screen. Would like to see a making of doc for this. I'm not big on rom com, so this movie must be good or probably no all that romantic. It does a good job of not making you hate the couple, which is a great feat, and therefore a great movie.

I reluctantly enjoyed it, so it's a winner.

Guess a lot of people rated without review, it's pretty good, and better than it looks here.
16 March 2022
I guess Amazon decided not to weight reviews over two second ratings. If 33 reviews were used it would be higher than 8. Realistically the movie isn't that epic, but it has some strange edgey moments, but the part that stands out the most is how pretty the movie is. It's shot on some very nice digital, and it appears around Terracina and Rome's surrounding areas. There are a lot of elements thrown in, probably more tight shots than are needed, as well as short one andtwo second sequences, that are personally way too much for me.

The actors are good and mainly new. Everyone who worked on this movie should be very proud. Had the story involved no sparse narrator or last line, no fourth wall break, with more character and complex story development, it's likely to have been more on the epic side.

Visually and auditorily it takes chances, story wise it would have made a short story of interest.

The movie is very good looking.

It's great it was shot in LA
1 March 2022
They could have embraced the badness. They could have used MST3K guys to narrate. Instead they tried to kinda tell a story via special defects, like old school after affects. The body paint was good, and the acting wasn't bad. Maybe it's used for something cool like money laundering breaking bad style...

80% shot with extra queazy cam, at least through first half.

Good interesting story
25 January 2022
I hope the make another similar story. I enjoyed the movie, but found a lot of things senseless, not really part of the plot or characters. I wished it flowed more like a movie, not linearly, but with vocal audio levels more normalized between musical barrages. It may have been designed to feel like we were in a city after being in a remote place, I'm not sure.

Squeezey-Cam close up pan and scan abomination

Great actors and good dialogue, is ruined by Netflix, a company I loved for 20 years. Having directors like Lorre, a mediocre producer, set the stage for this nauseating style that Netflix seems obsessed with. Fortunately it got a little better after episode one, but its still not right to waste talent like this. It has horrible jerky crane shots, and this inssane back and forth perspective, which doesn't work even for medium dialogue switching.

Great subject, so much beauty is spoiled by low frame rate
7 January 2021
This might be the Amazon prime version, but with very good bandwidth, it apoears to be shot in high resolution low frame rate, around 5-10fps. It looks horribly jittery, notably the Alaskan episode the last one. I would give this a 7 if I could stand the jumpy footage.

By the third episode I had to stop
17 December 2020
Its ten episodes lond and about a third of the way through Id rather watch Lost or Lord of the Flies. I wasn't a fan of Lost and this is missing a lot of story in the first couple of hours. I hope Amazons ownership isn't the reason this is reviewed so decent. Its not bad in the sense of acting as much as the story attempts depth without much development. It feels designed for a short attention span. This can be a good thing and its possible the watching it at once like a movie was a mistake.

Popcorn jersey Shore of sci-fi writing
27 December 2019
I really want to like this, and got excited for the remake, to it's credit it's grittier, faster paced, with a budget, graphics, and acting that dwarf the original. This is not science fiction, this is fiction, fairy tale frustration of frankly ignorant proportions. I would suggest employing someone in actual science field, such as thermodynamics, to address the painful inconsistencies that are addressed at length in this. Its so infuriating the waste of money Netflix has taken part in I wanted to give it one star and cancel my membership that goes back 15 years. If you don't care about Star trek, Star Wars, or facts I'm general, like the Jersey shore and wish it were shot in space version of queasy cam of PG version of this over dramatic spit in the face of science. To explain why I'm so angry you would have to realize that lack of employing experience educated staff for this took it from what should have been a truly great show and ruined it. I didn't review after the first season as I assumed it would just go away. If you like this great, I just think it's far more soap opera on steroids than science fiction, and robs a viewer expecting the latter.

Genocide is very bad, this movie is not very good
19 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I know I'm not the target audience and the goal is to take the person on an emotional rollercoaster. That being said I feel the swings from bad to good are senseless in a two hour movie. Something's are really bad and in a logical form of continuity in a story there should be a recovery period. This movie felt like it had an insane personality disorder to the point where I was very uncomfortably and would not suggest children see it for fear they might believe any great wrong is no bid deal.

Brave fun world of fiction
18 November 2019
When everything seems so similar and monotonous, this stands out as a series willing to take chances. Not all elements will be loved, but the series is great, it feels campy at times but reminds me how productions with far less funds made the best. My advice pick a random episode that looks interesting. Give two a shot and if you don't like it's not for you. If you do, you may have seen interesting elements of society shifted into a magnified representation of a strange fictional reality.

Thank you to all that made this possible, I believe another season will be ten stars. You worked out a lot of kinks in the first one, it will be difficult for some. Many similar series pale in comparison like Room 104 on HBO, which has far fewer great moments.

Outstanding, beautiful shots, writing, acting, this is art.
2 July 2019
This is what happens when budget meets talent and vision. Its like Breaking Bad, Xmen, and Being John Malcovich had a beautiful series together. The format is unconventional, and I believe that not everything in the show has a linked purpose, but the continuity flows better with more time.

26 June 2019
I got very upset with everything in the first 15 minutes and shut it off. I usually can give a show a chance but I seriously wonder if they were trying some avantgarde style that looks ok on a small screen.

I just don't get it, plus the dialogue was stilted like a rehearsal, with the actors giving it a good effort. I apologize if this offends anyone, I appreciate your efforts and again must say I didn't give it a real chance due to queezy cam, although it was headed to a lower rating quickly.

Fast-paced and unique, a beautiful intersection of dumb and brilliant
17 May 2019
This is one of my favorite shows. I like smart shows like TNG, GoT, and Orphan Black. This show has great writing and acting with irrelevant subjects ripped poetically. I wish I could write for the show, because I would like to see the main four characters evolve into a vested story. To keep it as funny, and light without it being too soft, repetitive, or heavy would be a challenge.

Season 2 is even better than the first.
11 April 2019
I would like to see deeper character development, but for a short, light comedy it nails it. Acting, writing, simple on point direction that feels immersive. If you happen to be involved in this show thank you. To give an example sans spoiler, one great episode circumnavigates a wood barrier with a hammer a liquid nitrogen. The bluish chromatic filter was off putting at first. Now it just seems to make the characters pop that much more. I hope this show becomes as successful as the office, they certainly deserve it, and for this, thank you. There are still many who understand and appreciate this craft.

Warning: Spoilers
These movies are fairly void of creativity, and a ludicrous agenda, treating lava like hot water and massive dinosaurs might attack a belt or pant leg and appear feckless at times. It's just too much, this is a movie, just ignore the effort to rip off previous ideas. It's pretty bad aside from good acting. The overuse of cgi in a movie that already needs needs a lot... I'm sorry this just makes me sad for a great premise run into reboot garbage. I hate so few movies...

Very original, though relatable to Idiocracy
26 February 2019
The reason I rate it so high is because of the originality. I would prefer if some of the over the top sight gags were more balanced for strong punch lines. I would describe it as unique, but relatable to Idocracy, Terminator, Mad Max, Mork and Mindy, Black Mirror, and This is the End. The acting, dialogue, and effects are so well woven together in a way that makes me kinda angry. Not at the show, at Hulu for coming out the gate with this show and commericals which repeat at nauseum.

Inception (2010)
10/10
Great movie or Greatest movie
19 July 2010
Inception is one of the most amazing movies ever created. It's an enveloping epic with so many layers it's hard to imagine it is an intense action movie. I give this movie such high marks because it is so intense throughout, igneous and unique. The visual effects and choices of slow motion shots beat the crap out of 3D movies. The plot did at times seemed forced in order to further, but being one of the most complex stories fairly easy to follow without making it full of holes is something of an amazement. There was a scene where a character sharply looks at another character with the camera in first person; the guy next to us jumped so much he threw his popcorn. The movie had so many white knuckle moments I felt juiced and exhausted afterward. I often think movies are too expensive, this one was a bargain, I would have paid double. They really worked hard on this story and effects; the preview doesn't do this movie justice.

I don't know why this happened, I hope someone lost a bet.
28 June 2006
I am a fan of Kevin Smith, and I want to protect his fans from stumbling across this most unfortunate accident. It is not a Kevin Smith movie. It is an episode of Degrassi (obviously), and almost mock-umentary about Kevin Smith shooting "Jay and Silent Bob Do Degrassi" which is the whored out name dubbed to these episodes of Degrassi. I watched both episodes hoping and praying that it must have a moment of redemption, and it never did. I remember Mewes and Smith did say a few funny things. Mewes and Morissette did a good job, but they're in it for only a couple of minutes total. Realistically I would say the attempts at comedy would be less than 2%. Which to put into perspective, is a good percentage for Fat in Milk, disgusting the other way around.

This was horrific to me by the standard that "An Evening with Kevin Smith"- http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0346952/ is one of the funniest things I've ever seen in my entire life. If you are a fan of Smith avoid this Degrassi mess, if you're a fan of Degrassi, it might be worth the mess. And although it's hard to believe, I think Kevin Smith would be one of the first to agree with me. That's why I said I hope someone lost a bet and that's why this was made.

-I'm sorry to be the barer of bad news, I'm only trying to help.

(NOTE: I wish this was listed under "Jay and Silent Bob Do Degrassi (Unrated) (2004)" Which is how it get's accidentally purchased at unscrupulous bargin bins and used DVD boxes everywhere.)
