Babylon 5: The Road Home (2023)
Good in some ways and terrible in others.
Nice to see Babylon 5 again but animation??? It was terrible and the faces were of low quality with little facial expression. I couldn't tell if it was Ivanova or Lockley, Lennier or other Minbari. No Vir Cotto which was shame.
The story was filling in some gaps of the original Babylon 5 in some lame tidying up exercise. Why can't creators move forwards, say 30 years and come up with a new story. Like Start Trek, B5 stuck to the same timeline as the original. Please for the love of god, create something new.
This animation will only be understood by those who had seen the original Babylon 5 films and series. Those who haven't will not understand this and therefore no new fans, which I suspect is the whole point of this film.
The Shadows were a joke. They have no need to run around openly. All they had to do is phase in/out.
On the whole it was ok but not something i will watch again soon. Whereas I would watch the original films and series again.
Living (2022)
Better than Causeway
Bill Nighy should have won the Oscar for best actor. He carried the film with his stuffy stiff lip demeanour and decided to go out with a bang.
I had a friend who was given 6 months to live at the age of 25. He had two choice, treatment and bedridden till death, or take his new wife and young daughter and enjoy life to the max for the next 5 months. Then 1 month in hospice and died the way he wanted it.
This film reminds me that death can strike anytime and life is too short. It is a reminder of our mortality. It was a very good remake of the Japanese original Ikiru and as remakes goes, it's rare as hen's teeth.
Causeway (2022)
Pretty good and appropriate length
Nice film about the effect of brain injury. Jen and Brian carried this film well with sombre dialogue about their respective past. The film is only 1 hr 30 mins which is more than enough and better than other films that dragged on for more than 2 hours to 3 hours. The inclusion of a deaf brother in prison was good. 1st time for everything.

Blonde (2022)
Yawn.
Jesus this was boring. Some good acting from Ana but that couldn't save the film. It was over an hour too long. Hollywood seem to like depressing the viewers instead of something upbeat and positive.

Aftersun (2022)
A father and daughter movie...
Oh my god, the reviews of this yawn fest movie is way over the top. Father and daughter goes on holiday and have a boring time doing nothing, boring conversation, boring everything.
The end is the daughter, now grown up, watching a camcorder recording of their holiday - shocked - nope. Just boring.
Avoid, instead paint a wall and watch it dry, more exciting.

The Walking Dead: Acheron: Part I (2021)
An Army Base....
After 10 or so years, the motley crew of idiots and lamebrains suddenly realised there is an army base. Of course the army base was full of goodie bags. And they went about it in the most idiotic way, nothing new there.
Sound of Metal (2019)
An attempt at understanding deafened people but failed.
Deafened people are hearing people with no ties to deaf people, and in a short space of time, a hearing person could lose all their ability to hear. Such the only solution is a cochlear implant (CI) or two. After that a deafened person would, for intent and purpose, become partially hearing. It is rare for a deafened person to interact with the deaf community, or learn sign language, since they are not solutions.
The idea that one would sell everything to buy 2 CIs for $40,000 to $80,000 without researching for a lower price is stupid. Surgery center of Oklahoma does CI $10,510 each making the total of $21,020.
As for the rest of the movie it was slow, mind numbing, boring with average acting.
Watch Coda which is miles better in every way.
Barry Lyndon (1975)
A film about an historical nobody.
Why would anyone make a film about Redmond Barry, a nobody, and expect anyone to relate to it. A film about important historical figures such as Wellington, Kings and Queens, people who do great things, make sense but 3 hours on a nobody.
The filming, scenery, costumes, etc, were great and that's why I gave it 2 stars.
But from start to finish it was boring tedious film and I couldn't relate to any of the characters. The Americans actors were rubbish, stiff wooden expressionless acting.
Do not bother with this, if you want to see great scenery then get off your sofa and go outside.
No Time to Die (2021)
Oh My God
Bond, James Bond, is straight womanising man with humour and charisma, with the designation of 007. Bond does not whine, form attachments, betray his country, or retire and finally does not die. Bond is cool, calm and collected. He may 'accidentality enlist' a beautiful woman to fight the baddies at the end. Bond does not hang on to past conquests, he charmingly pulls new beautiful woman wherever his assignment is.
No Time to Die is not a Bond movie. It is a Charlie Angel movie with a man temporarily taking over a woman because she had Covid (or whatever).
Why were there two quality actors, Ralph Fiennes and Christoph Waltz, doing playing titbits roles when there are better suited to major roles. Christoph Waltz would have made a better baddie than the disastrous Rami Malek, whom can not act. Rami face and bug-eyes are off-putting to watch.
James Bond, as far as I can remember, never use children in the same manner as this film. Starting with a child using a gun and dragging a adult body around is stupid. Were those involved in this film trying to appeal to the typical Rednecks in the USA? James Bond is a British character, British Spy, not USA, not Africa or anywhere else for that matter. Later Rami acted well as a paedophile by having someone else kid on his lap. James Bond is about adults, dealing with adult problems. The use of children in this manner made me sick.
All this pandering to Woke and political correctness has ruined the James Bond franchise. Thanks god for the internet as I can watch crappy movies for free with paying a penny.
Yes, there is plenty more I can write but that has been covered by many reviewers who gave a honest review giving this either 1 or 2 stars.
Papillon (2017)
Fess up!!
I am quite sure Papi didn't say "fess up". Introducing current speak into this classic was so meh.
Now Hunnam and Malek were both poor choices to act in this film. None can get close to the standard of McQueen and Hoffman acting in the original film Papillon that grossed over $50m in 1973, whereas this current crap got $10m. The locations was poor compare to the original. Jumping into the calm sea off Devils Island was laughable compare to the original. The beginning and the end scenes was pointless and the original didn't need it and yet was perfectly understood.
Why pick Hunnan when he can't act? Seriously he was the same in Son Of Anarchy and his irritating facial impression that made his unwatchable. He has no other ways of acting and is very one-dimensional. Malek is an average actor but the wrong choice for Delga. His shape of face and eyes are irritating to watch.
Why bother with remakes as every remakes are always worse than the original. The filming industry in the last 10ish years have run out of ideas and have been producing rubbish film. One or two per year gets my money, the rest gets zilch.
The Expanse (2015)
Worst Sci-fi series ever...
Those who rated this above 5 are all working on this series, desperate to preserve their jobs.
Blue tint - an eyesore and doesn't appeal at all. Tv industries need to get back to the basic and show real-life colours, no trying to be clever army of idiots, no lens flares, etc.
Employ real actors - all actors on this series were crap, an odd few were acceptable, Thomas Jane, Wes Chatham, Chad Coleman. The females, i mean seriously, i have never watched a TV programme where every females couldn't act. All, males too, were ugly, aggressive, shouty, backstabbing, pretending to be hard person, so and so. The males need to shave of their ghastly beard.
Pointless plots that doesn't do anything, crap 'enemy', blue molecules, give me a break. Pointless characters and too many of them which makes character development impossible, but then again the crappy actors wouldn't be able to act out their development so its a moot point.
Having watched the first 5 season in four days, had nothing else to do, i realised i have never laughed once. The writers are boring, humourless souls, with no depth in the English language, Every sentence was dumbed down and went dumber and dumbering ever season.
Top Gear: Nepal Special (2019)
I thought I'll watched this just in case...
It is surprising good.
Firstly nice scenery. The rest rubbish. The presenters, all 3 are rubbish. No humour. No cleverness in their dialogue. No witty statements. Just boring blah blah blah. Top Gear needs to reboot. It needs to do an audition to find real talents, not picking famous millionaires and expect magic.
Going back to watch The Grand Tour and old Top Gear episodes.
The L Word: Generation Q (2019)
Oh yaaawwnnnnn
Boring mindless load of rubbish. The original L Word was great solely because of Mia Kirshner as Jenny Schecter, which was a phenomenal character acted by the right quality actress.
This latest incarnate has nothing worth watching. Just pointless sex and snogging for no reasons, usual dollop of anti straight white men and making men look stupid.
All this programme does is create a divisive society.
Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019)
Whole lots of junk.
Zero out of 10 for this. Everything is wrong.
Colour of film, seriously blue and grey, is the directer colour-blind or what? What is the point of black actors? I could barely see them.
Characters were stupid, dialogue was horrendous, and too many of them just hanging around doing nothing.
I couldn't even follow the pace with 1 to 3 seconds scenes before moving to another scene then another. Feels like watching it at 10x normal speed.
Thanks god for the internet that allows me to watch it for free as i most certainly ain't spending a penny on this crap.
Lost in Space (2018)
Lost in S......
....Space. Oh goody, I thought to myself, another Sci-fi space series with ships, action and whatnot. It is another boring soap drama on Earth, pretending to be whatnot planet. They don't look very lost either.
Can real sci-fi fans ahve something like Babylon 5, Farscape, Stargate, Star Trek ( Discovery is cr@p), etc, without boring soap drama.
Stargate Origins: Catherine (2018)
The greatest pile of garbage ever.
Seriously all acting is a joke, none can act.
Changing the characters, like Catherine into uber extreme feminist, men weak and stupid, nazi - omg, aliens - all a joke.
Script is totally retarded, productions a joke.
Stay away or watch it and have a blooming good laugh - whisky helps.
Fear the Walking Dead (2015)
Please do not watch this.
Every character is rubbish. Every actor can't act. The script is terrible. Nothing good about this at all. I sped through season 1 & 2 and died of unbelievable boredom.
The Walking Dead (2010)
This show needs to die NOW.
I watched season 8 on fast speed and really this show needs to die. Rick is a terrible character, always talking sideways, talking with his body in an abnormal way, that normal human don't. Rick just kept on making terrible decisions and annoying to watch. He should have died at the end of season 2. Too many good characters were killed off and "Rick The Prick" stays alive. The first two seasons were good then after that is goes downhill until it can't go no further. This show doesn't even have an endgame, objectives to reach - like do human race survive or not? etc. It just kept on plodding along with repetitive storylines.
Can someone tell the bosses that this show needs to die NOW.
The Circle (2017)
My heartbeat was 10 times per minute!
Oh a yawn fest. So dreadfully boring without any change in pace or excitement or great one-liners. The film should be could "Flatliners" as i swear my pulse was so faint, that i wasn't even sure if i was still alive. Tom Hanks was wasted in this film. Emma acting is forever the same, same body language, same facial expression; fast becoming a very one-dimensional actress. It's a pity that Bill had to die with this being his final movie.
Star Trek: Discovery (2017)
For the life of me, what has gone wrong with the TV industry.
I have watched 7 episodes and each of them are terrible. The TV industry do not make programmes any more. They have forgotten that television is "moving pictures". Instead they carried on with JJ assbrams ridiculous destruction of Star Trek and Star Wars, by using lens flare (number pet hate), bright lightnings and jerky motions. All attempts at clever CGI failed. If i want my eyes to irritated, i would go to a nightclub, but not at home.
Their obsession with diversity and political correctness means the casts are terrible and don't gel. Not one actor had any redeeming quality. They all looked like they didn't want to be associated with Star Trek.
The whole new technologies is out of kilter with Star Trek timeline, spore drive - really, oh come on, this is so blooming lame and stupid. The script is lame and the casts bicker all the time, argumentative, women are showed to be incapable of following orders, understanding the chain of command.
It is not enough for idiots to destroy the movies and now they have to destroy the series. I am so furious that i am re-watching Babylon 5 to calm me down.
Prison Break (2005)
Cheapskate
Look at the final episode, time around 41:46 to 41:50 and you see the inside of Fox prison. A black guy shadow boxing, a white guy passing a cig from one cell to a black guy in another cell. This scene was taken from season 1, episode 1, 6:27 to 6:32.
That's what i call cheapskate. Could have done with new characters eh.

The Walking Dead: Service (2016)
Is a 5 years old writing for TWD?
Baddie turned up 1 week later to take whatever he wants. Goody does nothing for 1 week. Baddie takes all guns and rockets. Goody just let it happened. Baddie pranced around like a prat. Good pranced around like a prat too. Baddie talked like a t wat. Goody talked like a girl.
Now look here. High walls, plenty of cover, plenty of guns = easy to ambush if baddie strolls up to the gate like a t wat. Boom, Baddie and a few dies and the rest will simply give up.
However, like all 5 years old, they have no concept of real world. This episode, like most episodes, is plainly stupid.
The whole TWD is boring after season 1. There is no objective, end game to save the human race. Just human fighting human and the usual killing of Walkers that gets boring and repetitive.
Manchester by the Sea (2016)
Yawn.
DO not bother.
Seriously this is my first review and only writing this because, for the life of me, why did Casey win an Oscar for?
The whole film is a total bore-fest.
One would be better off watching anything else, so long it isn't this.
I recalled no humour/jokes. There was two fights, both for absolutely no reason. Probably only done after filming when the directors knew it was so boring and the audiences need something to keep them from falling to sleep.
