The Ritual Killer (2023)
Hey, this is Detective Boyd, calling from America!
First of all is the ending. What??? I thought there was like 30 min left and when I paused it, it's says 8. I'm wondering how they're going to end this is less than 8 min. Well, actually there was more like 2 min left after all the credits roll. Morgan Freeman's character seemed like he was about to do something that would greatly impact the plot but the movie pretty much ended.
The story was good enough to get me interested and I liked the actors. Acting was, meh but not horrible. I feel like this should have been a limited series. With the story starting in Rome and moving to the states, it could easily be stretched out to tell the story more thoroughly.
Oh well, it was entertainment and had some good laughs (not intentional).
The Batman (2022)
Should've been better.
I liked the ambiance, visuals and cinematography. Loved the Bat Mobile. Casting was ok, but didn't like John Turturro as Falcone, he's too goofy for me. Colin Farrell was perfect. Robert played a good, young Batman, which is how I came into the movie expecting. His second year as Batman. As much as I loved The Dark Knight, I feel like he was in more control than he should've been. They're needed to be more carryover from Batman Begins. Showing him grow as the Batman.
What I didn't like about the movie was the occasional long, drawn out dialogue explaining what going on. Like them telling us what and why things are happening in the story instead of portraying it more visually and symbolically. At times it felt like I was playing a video game and it was telling me what my next objectives are. I'd rather watch and keep guessing instead of telling me who the bad guy is, then just watch and wait for Batman to go get him. I think this is what makes the movie feel so slow and boring at times. They sit there and piece the puzzle together for like 5 minutes.
It was entertaining for the most part but no masterpiece or classic. I was overall disappointed after waiting so long to watch it. Hopefully they can learn and make the sequel better. I'm exited for Barry Keoghan's Joker. I hope this all makes sense.
The Matrix Resurrections (2021)
Thanks for the re-cap
I feel like this was made for people that never watched the original 3. It pretty much tells the story of Neo and what he did then along with a few new characters. Lame.
Goon: Last of the Enforcers (2017)
Still a decent hockey movie.
Kinda tough to top Goon 1 but still had some laugh out loud scenes. I didn't set my expectations to high so I still enjoyed the movie. Goon 1, I can watch over and over and still love it, this one maybe will watch it one more time. REALLY with they wouldn't have changed Stevesie's actor, not nearly as funny as Ricky Mabe. Sequel's are rarely as good as the original so I'm not really disappointed.
