Percy Jackson and the Olympians (2023)
All talk no action
The show starts in the middle of the story all of a sudden. In the first episode Percy Jackson already finds out he's a demi God and everything unfolds out of nowhere. He is in the demigod camp for a day and he is send on a life or dead mission?? And during the mission it's 110% talk and no action. No fighting no special abilities only talk about how they trust each other and see potential in each other and how their parents will help them. I have tried to give it a chance but after they enter the theme park and are just talking about the puzzles and who's going to sacrifice themselves for the quest I was done. Nothing happens.. just emotional nonsense.
Trust me it's not worth your time.
Thor: Love and Thunder (2022)
Shamefully for marvel standards
It already begins with the intro of the villain which is only a couple of minutes so you don't even know where he comes from or what kind of man he is. The god is immediately put down as a sarcastic spoiled child who doesn't give anything about anything... The whole movie is a cheap comedy with jokes that don't land of aren't even remotely funny. They try too hard to be funny but it takes away from the whole story that hardly isn't there anymore. Thor is just an annoying character with so many flaws.. like he learned nothing in the past 10 years. Jane has cancer and picks up the hammer out of nowhere? Also no backstory there. The whole this is just disappointing.
And the most disappointing of all is the scene with all the gods, what a complete joke. This could have been an amazing movie but it just ruined by a bad script and stupid jokes. The only thing that saved the second part of this movie a bit is the fact that christian bale played his part so amazingly. I'm sorry but worst marvel movie or all time.
Black Widow (2021)
Couldn't get through it.
I just couldn't get through it... And that's says a lot because I usually love marvel movies. It was all so cringey. Not real background story, no real emotions just badass women fighting and showing some moves. All of a sudden they are on some sort of mission without us even knowing what's really going on. This is not the one for me, great idea horrible execution.
Van Helsing (2016)
Great potential
This show had me hooked, really hooked. It was amazing until season 3. Season one and two where amazing. Season 3 was kinda hard to get through and season 4 and 5... Whole different show? Vanessa had two daughters who are the same as her, the dark world and traveling back in time? I mean that's not a vampire based storyline.. the two daughters are just annoying. Going from nobody's to main characters in one episode and turning to heroes in some more. It's a big no from me just couldn't get through it.
The A List (2018)
Give it a chance.
I don't get all these people giving a 1 to 3 rating after 15 min into the show. Give it a chance, there is a good reason why everybody's overreacting to amber falling of the rope bridge. It's quite a nice story, misterious and doesn't give away the plot right away. Just get through the second and third episode and then give a rating.
Army of the Dead (2021)
Missed opportunity.
So.. and don't read this review if you haven't seen the movie yet.. of maybe you do and it will save you 2,5 hours. Anyway, so a group of people are going into zombie infested Las Vegas to steal 200 million dollars from a huge safe.. when they are in Las Vegas they sacrifice one of their group to the zombies to get bitten so the zombies leave them alone. Interesting, wil he come back with vengeance? Kill them to get revenge? Well no he comes back and dies almost right away.
Also there are not only walkers, there are stronger and faster ones with one leader. The original zombie. You see that his zombie bride is pregnant with his child, great story line right? No because she gets killed not far in the movie for her head. The zombie leader finds the body and gets the kid out. Will it get good from here? No because we never see the kid again and the whole of Las Vegas gets bombed so the kids also dead. Then they find some bodies near the safe that look exactly like them, one guy gets the idea this whole thing might be one giant time loop. They die over and over again. Great story right? No because it isn't a time loop. Eventually they all die, they have no money and all was for nothing. The zombies are dead and nothing great actually happened. But wait, one guy escaped with the money and is on his own private plane. But he ends up being bitten! Oh no!! Maybe a part two? No to many missed opportunities for me. It's entertainment.. not much but some.
The Babysitter: Killer Queen (2020)
Awesome
I NEVER write a review but I had to take this one. I mean the story was total bullcrap but man was it entertaining. This movie escalated so quickly and just keeps on going.
Definitely better than the first one.
