Dune Drifter (2020)
A Fantastic Couple Of Hours With A Film That Kept Me In Suspense
I've nothing but praise for this film. The acting was top notch as were the props and special effects. Drifting on foot from dune to dune on her 28 click trek to the crashed enemy ship to salvage it for a fuel system component that she needed to replace her own damaged one in order to take off and fly back to her navy all alone with her helmet constantly reminding her of the ever dwindling air supply before she suffocates to death on a toxically unbreathable, uncharted planet. Whats even more to be held in high praise is that it was filmed in 2020. The year of distanced solitude. Theres an emotional spot near the end that you won't get if you've not paid attention earlier.
My only criticism was all the screaming from the pilots when they were hit. I'd imagine experienced multiple tour combat pilots as these guys seemed to be, would scream initially then get a grip.
The Midnight Sky (2020)
A Life Lesson For All Of Us
For me, its the story of a person who put their carer ahead of all else, regretting it in the end.
Banished (2015)
60 Minutes Gone In 60 Seconds
That's how this program feels like each episode. Fantastic setting, Blue skies, green jungles, sunny beaches. The acting is first rate, the script is challenging enough to be fun without being too cerebral. That's what entertainment is supposed to be. Its one of those series where an hour is not long enough. As for realism, I don't want to see skanky teeth or manky uniforms but I do agree on the condition of Kitty's hair but then again 'maybe shes worth it'. Maybe in the second series, she looses her memory and The Major convinces her its May Belle Lynn McVitie This story could run and run as the New South Wales colony grows over the decade. If done properly, more series than Stargate SG1 Well done script writers and well done to the BBC for funding it. Feel free to making a remake of Mutiny On the Bounty or Hornblower or anything anywhere hot 'n' sunny on water or in a jungle and I'll be a fanboy of that too. :)
Battleship (2012)
Excellent Two Hours
Yes, the aliens do appear to be stupid but then again, if you think about it, if they extra terrestrially pwn'd the Earth at the start, the film would be over in less than ten minutes, so the aliens had to be written to be stupid to avoid that from happening.
There's only one unbelievable thing that happens where I found myself thinking "Yeah! Right!"....but I'll let you figure out what that could be.
pssst! Its to do with The Missouri's Health 'n' Safety certificate. See if that narrows it down for you. :) It still gets 10/10. I'd love there to be a whole string of these. Part II could be where Earth works 'round the clock to build WMD's to stop future alien invasions while simultaneously on Planet G, the aliens were doing likewise.
Fingers crossed for a sequel. :)
